Thursday, March 24

*5:34 AM – A Brown County Sheriff’s deputy assisted an Early Police officer with an alarm call.

*1:51 PM – Brownwood Police were dispatched to the 500 block of W. Commerce Street regarding a hit and run accident.  According to the report, the complainant’s vehicle was struck while parked at the ALDI grocery store in Commerce Square.

*6:52 PM – Brownwood Police were called to the 900 block of 7th Street regarding a follow up on a case of forgery.  According to the report, the investigation is ongoing.

*8:05 PM – A Brown County Sheriff’s deputy received a report of a stolen Play Station 4 from a residence on W. Main Blvd.  A possible suspect was named, the report states.

*9:46 PM – Brownwood Police were called to a convenience store in the 1200 block of Austin Avenue for a suspicious individual.  According to the report, while en route, the officer was dispatched to a hit and run accident in the 2400 block of Belmeade Street.  The two calls were related, and after an investigation, 31-year-old Donald Gene Gilbert of Brownwood was arrested for driving while intoxicated with a child under 15 years of age and on duty striking unattended vehicle, the report states.

*10:22 PM – Brownwood Police were dispatched to the 2100 block of Slayden Street regarding a hit and run accident.  According to the report, a vehicle had damaged a fence on the property and fled the scene.

*56-year-old Craig O’Connor of Midland, Texas was arrested by a Texas Parks and Wildlife game warden for boating while intoxicated 3rd or more.  O’Connor was later released on $10,000 bond.

*Brown County Sheriff’s Office arrested 31-year-old Josue Jaime Pesina of Crystal City, Texas on a surety withdrawal related to theft over $1500 less than $20,000.

*56-year-old Troy L. Webb, Jr. of Brownwood turned himself in on a warrant related to assault causes bodily injury family violence.

Friday, March 25

*10:29 AM – Brownwood Police were called to the 1300 block of Brady Avenue regarding the theft of a motor vehicle.

*1:24 PM – Brownwood Police met with a complainant at the law enforcement center regarding debit/credit card abuse.  According to the report, the complainant stated that several charges had been made on her credit card by an unknown suspect without her authorization.

*2:56 PM – A Brown County Sheriff’s deputy checked on a pick-up truck which was illegally parked in the no parking zone at Ten Mile Crossing area of County Road 267.   According to the report, while in the area, the deputy made consensual contact with a male subject on the riverside.  The subject told the deputy that the truck was his and he was about to leave; however, prior to the subject leaving, nervous behavior from him was detected and consent to search his truck was requested, the deputy reported. The subject consented to a search, which led to the discovery of about 2.5 grams of marijuana without packaging and a cumulative net weight of about 1.3 grams of methamphetamine without packaging, according to the report.  The male, identified as 45-year-old Scott Douglass Childress of Goldthwaite, Texas, was interviewed and then charged with possession of substance in penalty group greater than 1 less than 4 grams and possession of marijuana less than 2 ounces.

*3:57 PM – Brownwood Police were called to the 1200 block of Avenue H regarding the theft of two bicycles.

*4:50 PM – Brownwood Police were dispatched to the 2000 block of Belle Plain regarding the burglary of a habitation.  According to the report, saw horses, a metal two wheeled dolly, a dresser, a jewelry box containing various pieces of jewelry, and two flat screen televisions were taken in the burglary.

*7:53 PM – A Brown County Sheriff’s deputy was called to a property on Reynolds Lane regarding a stolen cell phone.  According to the report, there are no suspects at this time, and the phone was entered as stolen in the national database.

*11:21 PM – A Brown County Sheriff’s deputy made contact with a complainant by phone regarding her car being stolen.  According to the report, the complainant stated she realized her car had been stolen after a friend saw it parked at the fair grounds on Highway 377 South.   The complainant located her car, which was unsecured and had been damaged, the report states.  She left her car at the fair grounds and returned later to find it was missing again, according to the deputy’s report.  A report was made for unauthorized use of a motor vehicle and no suspects were identified.

*11:49 PM – A Brown County Sheriff’s deputy initiated a traffic stop on a pick-up truck on N. 6th Street in Bangs in order to ascertain if a possible suspect was inside of the vehicle.   According to the report, during the initial contact, the deputy detected the odor of marijuana coming from the vehicle and conducted a probable cause search which led to the discovery of approximately 9.3 grams of marijuana without packaging.  After conducting a field investigation, the deputy arrested the driver of the vehicle, identified as 31-year-old David Anthony Richardson of Brownwood, for the contraband and released the front passenger from detainment, the report states.

*Brownwood Police arrested 61-year-old Victor Gonzalez of Brownwood for public intoxication with three prior convictions.

*Early Police arrested 48-year-old Rudolfo Reyna of Brownwood for criminal trespass.

Saturday, March 26

*12:13 AM – A Brownwood Police officer made a traffic stop in the 600 block of N. Center Avenue, after he observed a vehicle exit the parking lot of a local bar without its headlights on.  According to the report, the vehicle turned onto the 600 block of N. Fisk Street and proceeded north, striking a curb and driving on the curb with the right wheels of the vehicle.  This stop led to the arrest of 23-year-old Jerod Scott Ramirez of Georgetown, Texas for driving while intoxicated, the report states.

*3:15 AM – A Brown County Sheriff’s deputy was dispatched to a property on FM 2525 regarding a domestic disturbance.  According to the report, the investigation of the scene led to the arrest of 27-year-old Jacob Alonzo Gomez of Brownwood for continuous assault against the family, a 3rd degree felony.  A previous complaint of assault had been reported to the Brownwood Police Department on January 17, 2016, according to law enforcement.

*3:21 AM – Brownwood Police were called to the 4200 block of South US Hwy 377 in Brownwood regarding an unwanted subject.  According to the report, communications advised the officer that the complainant stated her soon to be ex-husband was attempting to make entry into her apartment and that he had an active protective order against him.  The subject left prior to the officers’ arrival and could not be located at the time of the call.  A report has been completed for the violation of a protective order.

*1:29 PM – Brownwood Police were dispatched to the 2200 block of Southside Drive regarding a domestic disturbance.

*1:13 PM – Brownwood Police made a traffic stop in the 100 block of Bluffview Drive regarding speeding.  According to the report, the driver, identified as 45-year-old Norma Linda Mendez of Brownwood, was found to be intoxicated and was arrested for driving while intoxicated with child 15 years of age or younger.

*4:12 PM – Brownwood Police made a traffic stop in the 2400 block of Durham Avenue regarding an expired registration.  According to the report, during the stop, a probable cause search led to the arrest of 20-year-old Chance Simon Lewis of Brownwood for possession of marijuana less than 2 ounces.

*7:35 PM – Brownwood Police were dispatched to the 400 block of South Broadway regarding the theft of a motor vehicle.  According to the report, items were stolen from the complainant’s vehicle while parked at a Brownwood address.

*9:12 PM – Brownwood Police were called to the 1500 block of Avenue G regarding the theft of a bicycle.

*Brownwood Police arrested 46-year-old Joe Richard Cadena, Jr. on warrants related to theft of property equal or greater than $750 less than $2,500 and on surety withdrawals for possession of a controlled substance, assault causes bodily injury, criminal mischief equal or greater than $50 less than $500 and possession of marijuana.  Cadena was being held in the Brown County Jail on bonds totaling $26,000 as of Monday morning.

*A Texas Parks and Wildlife game warden arrested 33-year-old Lacy Renee Onstead of Brownwood for driving while intoxicated.

Sunday, March 27

*12:09 AM – Brownwood Police responded to a motor vehicle accident in the area of fourth and Coggin.  According to the report, this call led to the arrest of the driver, identified as 76-year-old Martin Schneider of Brownwood, for driving while intoxicated.

*11:09 AM – A Brown County sheriff’s deputy was dispatched to the Bangs First Baptist Church, located on 2nd Street in Bangs, Texas, regarding an intoxicated male at the church.  According to the report, the deputy located a white male, identified as 55-year-old James Edward Clark of Bangs, Texas, who had a strong odor of alcohol on his breath standing in front of the church.  Clark was unsteady on his feet and had slow slurred speech, according to the deputy, and to prevent Clark from hurting himself or others, he was placed under arrest for public intoxication, the report states.

*1:54 PM – Brownwood police were called to the 1300 block of Vine Street regarding theft.  According to the report, an incident of theft and credit/debit card abuse had occurred.

*6:47 PM – A Brown County Sheriff’s deputy made a traffic stop with a vehicle near the intersection of W. Commerce Street and Terrace Street in Brownwood regarding a defective high-mount brake lamp. According to the report, during the course of the contact, nervous behavior was detected from the occupants of the car and a consent search was conducted.  No contraband was found; however, one of the passengers of the car, later identified as 28-year-old Mathew Shae Barnes of Cross Plains, Texas, gave 2 different dates of birth for his name and was arrested after he admitted he had lied about his identity, the report states.  Barnes later admitted who he really was and his charge was enhanced, due to him having an active arrest warrant from the Department of Pardon and Parole, the deputy reported.

*9:27 PM – Brownwood Police were dispatched to the 300 block of Center Avenue regarding an unwanted person.  According to the report, this call led to an incident of assault with injury being documented.

Monday, March 28

*2:21 AM – A Brown County sheriff’s deputy made a traffic stop on a vehicle in the 1000 block of Early Boulevard.  According to the report, the driver of the vehicle, identified as 53-year-old Kyle Ray Couch of Comanche, Texas, was displaying nervous behavior and denied consent to search his vehicle.  An Early PD Corporal deployed his K-9, Jambo, and he gave a positive alert to both the driver’s and passenger’s doors of the vehicle, the report stated.  During a probable cause search of the vehicle, a black container was located underneath the middle seat, which contained 2 bags of a crystalline substance believed to be methamphetamine along with a cut straw, according to the deputy’s report.  Couch was placed under arrest for possession of a controlled substance equal or greater than 1g less than 4g and transported to the Brown County Jail.  The substance field-tested positive for methamphetamine and the bags weighed 0.6g and 3.2g, respectively, including packaging, according to the report.

*Texas Department of Public Safety arrested 25-year-old Nicholas Daniel Sullivant of Pueblo, Colorado for possession of a controlled substance penalty group 2 greater than 1 gram less than 4 grams in a drug free zone and possession of marijuana in a drug free zone.  Sullivant was being held in the Brown County Jail in lieu of $23,500 bond as of Monday morning.
