Thursday, March 19
* 2:13 PM – A Brown County Sheriff’s deputy was dispatched to a residence on FM 1849 in Brownwood regarding theft. The complainant stated that someone come onto his property and took a red metal tackle box and 3 red plastic buckets filled with miscellaneous tools, according to the report.
Friday, March 20
*9:22 AM – Brownwood Police responded to a hit and run accident in the 1400 block of Brady Avenue. According to the report, the incident had happened some time during the previous night.
*9:43 AM – Brownwood Police were called to the 2700 block of Avenue B regarding the burglary of a habitation. According to the report, tools had been stolen from the residence and a suspect had been identified during the investigation.
*4:00 PM – Brownwood Police responded to the 500 block of E. Commerce regarding a sexual assault. According to the report, a known suspect has been repeatedly exposing herself in front of the complainant’s children.*7:25 PM – Brownwood Police were dispatched to the 4300 block of Brookdale regarding a domestic disturbance. According to the report, this call led to the arrest of 38-year-old Mario Narro of Brownwood for assault with injury family violence.
*7:53 PM – A Brown County Sheriff’s deputy was dispatched to a residence on CR 321 regarding an aggravated robbery. According to the report, the complainant/victim advised that he had previously been in an argument with his daughter and her boyfriend after they came to his house. He advised that his daughter had stolen a note pad, his cell phone, and a Walther 9mm handgun and had fired several shots into the air and one into the ground in front of a friend of the complainant before she left. The complainant wished to pursue criminal charges against his daughter for the incident, the report states.
*A Brown County Sheriff’s deputy made a traffic stop after gaining information that a vehicle coming into Brown County was carrying narcotics. According to the report, the vehicle was traveling west into Early at the speed of 58 in a 55mph zone, and the stop was made. The driver, identified as 23-year-old Jessica McPherran of Brownwood gave consent after an interview for the deputy to search the vehicle which led to the discovery of a scale with a white residue, which tested positive for the presence of methamphetamine, the report states. McPherran was placed under arrest for possession of a controlled substance penalty group 1. Once at the jail, McPherran advised she had methamphetamine in her bra and removed two small baggies which weighed 15 grams with packaging, the report states. The charge was then changed to manufacture delivery of a controlled substance penalty group 1 equal or greater than 4 grams less than 200 grams and warrants related to surety withdrawals for manufacture delivery of a controlled substance penalty group 1 less than 1 gram in a drug free zone, tamper fabricate physical evidence and possession of marijuana less than 2 ounces in a drug free zone. McPherran was being held in the Brown County Jail in lieu of $50,000 bond as of Monday morning.
*Brownwood Police arrested 52-year-old Carol Ann Applegate of Brownwood for theft of property equal or greater than $50 less than $500.
*Brown County Sheriff’s Office arrested 29-year-old Justin Sly Basham of May for driving while intoxicated 3rd or more.
*Early Police arrested 35-year-old on a Madison County warrant related to failure to appear/motion for child support.
*Brownwood Police arrested 31-year-old Grant Lee Norris of Brownwood for tamper fabricate physical evidence and possession of marijuana less than 2 ounces. Norris was being held in the Brown County Jail in lieu of bonds totaling $6,500 as of Monday morning.
*63-year-old Randall Lee Perry of Brookesmith on a Coleman County warrant for theft from elderly. Perry was being held in the Brown County Jail in lieu of $25,000 bond as of Monday morning.
*Brown County Sheriff’s Office arrested 61-year-old James Allen Reynolds of Bangs on a warrant related to possession of a controlled substance penalty group 1 less than 1 gram. Reynolds was being held in the Brown County Jail in lieu of $50,000 bond as of Monday morning.
Saturday, March 21
*1:23 AM – Brownwood Police were called to the 500 block of W. Commerce regarding a hit and run. According to the report, an investigation is ongoing.
*1:57 AM – Brownwood Police were dispatched to the 700 block of Avenue J regarding a noise nuisance. This call led to the arrests of 22-year-old Donna Kinsey and 24-year-old Shandelyn Kay Simpson, both of Brownwood, for furnishing alcohol to minors, according to the report.
*10:33 AM – Brownwood Police were called to the 100 block of Market Place Blvd. regarding an assault. According to the report, a pregnant employee was assaulted by another employee, whose employment had just been terminated. The suspect, 24-year-old Kandace Nicole Carr, was located and was arrested for assault causes bodily injury.
*A Brown County Sheriff’s deputy conducted a traffic stop on a vehicle for making a wide right turn and upon making contact with the driver; the deputy noticed the driver appeared to be taking deep breaths. According to the report, the driver, identified as 32-year-old Tony Brazz Burns of Brownwood, was asked to exit the vehicle and then it was noticed that he was chewing something. When the deputy asked what Burns was chewing, he took off running across 3rd Street and ended up running into a fence. Burns was handcuffed and the deputy could smell fresh marijuana coming from his breath as he would yell because the fence had injured his leg, the report states. Burns’ vehicle was inventoried and released for impound. Burns was charged with tampering or fabricating physical evidence and evading arrest or detention, the report states.
*Brownwood Police arrested 46-year-old Joseph Christopher Clayton of Brownwood on a warrant related to possession of marijuana less than 2 ounces.
*Brown County Sheriff’s Office arrested 22-year-old Dustin Tyler Crosby of Brownwood for prohibited weapon knuckles and warrants related to three counts of failure to maintain financial responsibility, speeding 55 in a 30 mph zone, and possession of drug paraphernalia.
*Brownwood Police arrested 59-year-old Robert Salazar of Brownwood on a warrant related to theft of service equal or greater than $20 less than $500.
Sunday, March 22
*3:01 AM – Brownwood Police were called to the 1600 block of Brooks Avenue regarding a runaway juvenile.
*12:55 PM – Brownwood Police were dispatched to the 1600 block of 6th Street regarding harassment. According to the report, the complainant stated his ex-girlfriend had been harassing him by telephone.
*4:09 PM – Brownwood Police were called to a residence on Stonebrook Court regarding a sexual assault. According to the report, the complainant reported that her daughter had been sexually assaulted at a home in Brownwood.
*Brown County Sheriff’s Office received a report of theft at a residence on FM 2525. According to the report, a number of items including furnishings, light fixtures, and a trampoline had been stolen from the outside of the home. It was uncertain when the theft occurred, as the owner of the property had not been to the house since before the week of Spring Break, the report states.
*Early Police arrested 21-year-old Lucano Escamilla of Edinburg for driving while intoxicated and a Hidalgo County warrant related to failure to appear/driving while intoxicated. Escamilla was being held in the Brown County Jail in lieu of bonds totaling $9,000 as of Monday morning.
*Texas Department of Public Safety arrested 29-year-old Jonathan Guarjardo of Levelland for driving while license invalid with previous conviction.
*Texas Department of Public Safety arrested 25-year-old Mathew Kenny of Lubbock for possession of a controlled substance penalty group 2 equal or greater than 4 grams less than 400 grams. Kenny was being held in the Brown County Jail in lieu of $20,000 bond as of Monday morning.
*Brown County Sheriff’s Office arrested 44-year-old David Robles Ortega, Jr. of Brownwood for criminal mischief equal or greater than $50 less than $500 and theft class C.
*Texas Department of Public Safety arrested 22-year-old Daniel Pla of Lakewood, Colorado for possession of marijuana.
Monday, March 23
*Texas Department of Public Safety arrested 23-year-old Jude Thompson of Lakewood, Washington for possession of marijuana less than 2 ounces.
