Friday, March 15

*8:38 AM – A Brown County Sheriff’s deputy was dispatched to Big G Grocery on Hwy 279 regarding theft.  According to the report, the manager of the store advised that two regular customers came into the store and milled about for approximately 30 minutes before they purchased some soft drinks and then left.  Their actions seemed suspicious so the manager and an employee went to the medicine aisle where the two customers had been standing and found an empty box of Tagamet HB 200 and a box of Nauzene chewables that were both empty, the report states.  Store video surveillance footage was observed and appeared to show one of the customers removing merchandise from its packaging.  No arrest had been made at the time of the report.

*8:12 PM – A Brown County Sheriff’s deputy made a traffic stop in the 600 block of Longhorn Drive in Early.  According to the report, the driver identified as 19-year-old Nicholas Shade Salinas was found to have a warrant out of Randall County.  During the stop, the deputy also noticed a strong odor of marijuana coming from the vehicle and small amounts of a green leafy substance, seeds and stems, known as marijuana shake scattered on the passenger side seat and floor, the report states.  Salinas was arrested for possession of marijuana and the outstanding warrant.

Saturday, March 16

*4:53 PM – A Brown County Sheriff’s deputy was dispatched to a residence on CR 135 regarding theft.  According to the report, the complainant stated that her 19-year-old grandson and about 14 of his friends had a party at her home the night before and now she noticed a jacket and jewelry missing from the residence, valued at approximately $1500.00.

*6:04 PM – Brown County Sheriff’s Office received a report of terroristic threat.  According to the report, the complainant stated that he has been receiving threatening phone calls, emails and text messages from a known subject who lives in another town.  The complainant stated that he is afraid that the suspect is going to come to Brownwood and kill him, the report states.

*6:34PM – Brown County Sheriff’s Office received a report of cruelty to animals.  According to the report, the complainant stated that he heard dogs barking across the road from his property in the area of Buck View Road and had found several dogs chained up to trees that appeared to be neglected.  The deputy went to the property and spoke to the owner who stated that she had recently become homeless and was keeping the dogs at the property and was planning to take the dogs to the shelter on Monday, March 18th because she cannot care for them.

*8:00 PM – A Brown County Sheriff’s deputy made a traffic stop on Hwy 279 and found the driver’s operator license to be suspended along with previous conviction for driving while license suspended.  The driver identified as 33-year-old Rocky Gordon Martinez was arrested for driving while license invalid with previous conviction/suspension.

Sunday, March 17

*A Brown County Sheriff’s deputy was dispatched to a residence on FM 3021 regarding theft.  According to the report, the complainant stated that a known male subject who was staying with her stole 100 one dollar bills from her.  Criminal charges are being pursued, the report states.

Monday, March 18

*11:12 AM – Brownwood Police were dispatched to the 1600 block of Good Shepherd regarding a domestic disturbance.  According to the report, the subjects involved were interviewed and no injuries were observed on either of the subjects involved in the disturbance.

*A Brown County Sheriff’s deputy was dispatched to a burglary of a building that had already occurred.  The complainant stated that his business had been burglarized for the second time in three days.  According to the report, an investigation led to a suspect being identified and that 277 lbs. of brass valued at $600 and 250 lbs. of copper valued at $815 was taken from the property.

Tuesday, March 19

*9:49 AM – Brownwood Police made a traffic stop in the 1200 block of Irma Street regarding an expired inspection certificate.  According to the report, the driver, identified as 28-year-old Rosa Maria Lopez, was found in possession of marijuana which was located inside the vehicle.  She also admitted to possessing marijuana at her residence, the report states.  A small quantity was subsequently retrieved from the residence.  Lopez was arrested for possession of marijuana greater or equal to 2 ounces in a drug free zone and transported to the Brown County jail.

*10:35 AM – Brownwood Police were dispatched to the 400 block of W. Commerce regarding suspicious circumstances.  An investigation of criminal solicitation has begun.

*11:05 AM – Brownwood Police were called to the 700 block of W. Commerce regarding theft.  According to the report, two concrete statues were taken from the property without the owner’s permission.  The owner wished to pursue criminal charges, the report states.

*1:18 PM – Brownwood Police were called to the 3600 block of Golding Road regarding an assault.  According to the report, the complainant advised officers that when she showed her sunburned arm, her uncle slapped her in the arm.

*1:21 PM – Brownwood Police were dispatched to the 1100 block of Clements Street regarding a hit and run.

*11:30 PM – Brownwood Police were called to the 500 block of West Commerce, Golden Chick, where a vehicle had high centered up on a curb in the front of the business.  According to the report, the driver, identified as 41-year-old Clarence Leon McDowell, Jr., exited the vehicle in an attempt to get other customers to help him move the vehicle.  A caller stated that the male was becoming belligerent with customers, the report states.  McDowell was found to be intoxicated and was subsequently arrested for driving while intoxicated 2nd offense.

*Texas Department of Public Safety arrested 27-year-old John Crowe of Lubbock for possession of a controlled substance penalty group 1 less than 1 gram, unlawful carry weapon, and possession of a controlled substance penalty group 3 less than 28 grams.

*Brown County Sheriff’s Office arrested 25-year-old Daniel Scott Eccleston of Nacogdoches for driving while intoxicated.

*Brown County Sheriff’s Office arrested 45-year-old Travis Wayne Gossett of Mullin on four outstanding warrants for his arrest related to possession or delivery of drug paraphernalia, speeding 10% or over 83/70, and motion to revoke related to possession of a controlled substance and motion to revoke related to possession of a controlled substance less than 1 gram.

* Brown County Sheriff’s Office arrested 44-year-old John Coley Lane of Richland Springs for two warrants related to possession of a controlled substance with intent to deliver and driving while intoxicated 3rd.

*Brown County Sheriff’s Office arrested 24-year-old Jonathan Lee Reyna for possession of a controlled substance with intent to deliver drug free zone.

Wednesday, March 20

*Early Police arrested 46-year-old Dorraine Reese for driving while intoxicated.
