Wednesday, March 18
*5:42 AM – Brownwood Police were called to the 1100 block of San Benito Drive regarding a domestic disturbance. This call led to the arrest of 45-year-old Joe Richard Cadena, Jr. of Brownwood for assault family violence.
*7:26 PM – Brownwood Police were dispatched to a Brownwood residence regarding an alleged incident of indecency with a child by exposure.
*Brown County Sheriff’s deputies responded to the EZ-Mart on Hwy 279 regarding a disturbance in the parking lot between two subjects. According to the report, one of the suspects, identified as 37-year-old Reginald Dewayne Jones of Blanket, was later located at the Flagship Inn parking lot and found to be in possession of 17 Clonazepam pills for which he did not have a prescription.
*Brown County Sheriff’s Office received a report of fraud and identity theft. According to the report, the owner of a local taxidermy business in Early reported that she had learned her business name and business address is fraudulently being used on a UPS account. The account is being used to mail fraudulent checks to numerous people in an attempt to scam these individuals. The owner stated that UPS has confirmed at least $7,000 in UPS fees have been charged to this account, according to the report.
*Brown County Sheriff’s Office arrested 18-year-old Elijah Ray Jones of Brownwood on warrants related to surety withdrawals for resist arrest search or transport, interfere with public duty and criminal trespass. Jones was being held in the Brown County Jail in lieu of bonds totaling $20,000.
Thursday, March 19
*2:55 AM – Brownwood Police made a traffic stop at the intersection of Washington and Malone Street. After a brief investigation, the driver of the vehicle, identified as 21-year-old Stetson Lee Wayne Walls of Brownwood was arrested for the offense of driving while license invalid with previous conviction/without financial responsibility.
