Wednesday, March 13
*2:56 PM – Brownwood Police were dispatched to the 2300 block of Coggin Avenue regarding theft. According to the report, a suspect was identified in the theft (over $500 less than $1500).
*4:10 PM – Brown County Sheriff’s deputy was dispatched to a property on FM 2126 regarding animal cruelty. According to the report a longhorn on the property was found to be extremely skinny with its rib, spine and hip bones protruding and clearly visible. The owner of the property was contacted and stated that the animal is 25-year-old and belongs to a family member.
Thursday, March 14
*12:59 PM – Brownwood Police were dispatched to the 1100 block of Santa Clara regarding a domestic disturbance. According to the report, the officer spoke to the subjects involved and investigation found that a female, identified as 22-year-old Michelle Cooper of Chico, bit her boyfriend during an argument. Cooper was arrested for assault causes bodily injury family violence.
*2:26 PM – Brownwood Police were called to 1400 Austin Avenue, Brookshire’s grocery, regarding theft. According to the report, the call led to a citation being issued to a juvenile for theft.
*2:57 PM – Brown County Sheriff’s Office assisted Brown County Adult Probation Officers in a probation search of an apartment in the 1500 block of Magnolia Street. According to the report, probationer Sabrina Lewis lives in the apartment with her aunt, Latasha Roberson and both were present during the search. Roberson let officers into the apartment and went directly to the bedroom trash can and started moving items around, particularly a pair of shorts and men’s boxers along with a small pocketbook which she refused to give officers permission to search, the report states. BCSO K9 officer, Buster, was deployed and alerted positively on several areas within the apartment, including the trash can which was found to contain several baggies containing residue that tested positive for methamphetamine and pieces to a hypodermic syringe. Both Roberson and Lewis were arrested for possession of methamphetamine under one gram. A search incident to Roberson’s arrest found two plastic baggies containing methamphetamine in her purse and in the pocketbook mentioned earlier in the report, two spoons, a plunger to a hypodermic syringe, a plastic baggie with white residue and two alprazolam tablets were found, the report states. The location of the arrest was within 1000 feet of Brownwood Independent School District (2707 4th Street) and is a drug free zone, which was added to the women’s charges.
*3:52PM – Brown County Sheriff’s Office made a traffic stop in the 1300 block of Brooks which resulted in the driver, 34-year-old Aaron James Deal being arrested for driving while license invalid with no insurance.
*5:13 PM – Brownwood Police were dispatched to the 1100 block of Coggin Avenue regarding the burglary of a vehicle.
*6:18 PM – Brownwood Police were called to the 2200 block of Avenue E regarding a civil matter. According to the report, a trespass warning was issued to a female for a residence in the 2200 block of Avenue E.
*7:25 PM – Brownwood Police were called to the 2800 block of Southside Drive regarding an unwanted person. According to the report, a trespass warning was issued to a male subject for the property.
Friday, March 15
*Brown County Sheriff’s Office arrested 22-year-old Mandy Mae Barker of Deleon for theft of property less than $20 by check.
*A Brown County Sheriff’s deputy was called to assist Early Police officers with a DWI suspect who had become combative while in custody at the Brownwood Regional Medical Center for a blood draw search warrant. According to the report, 56-year-old Toribio Rios Munguia gave two Early PD officers difficulty in removing him from the patrol unit. He continued to resist officers as he was walked to the emergency room and at one point was able to break free from officers and ER staff, grabbing the deputy’s wrist and placing it into a wrist lock causing severe pain to the deputy’s left wrist, the report states. Munguia was brought under control after a Taser was deployed, according to the report. Munguia was charged with driving while intoxicated, resisting arrest search or transport and assault on a public servant.
