Wednesday, February 5

*4:02 PM – Brownwood Police were dispatched to the 500 block of W. Commerce regarding fraud.  According to the report, employees of a local check cashing business advised that a check had been cashed in the amount of $1500 on January 21st and this financial instrument had been later determined to be a fraudulent check.  Information was obtained about the suspect, the report states.

*4:19 PM – Brownwood Police were called to the 100 block of E. Anderson Street regarding a hit and run.  According to the report, the complainant stated that an SUV-type vehicle had attempted to make a U-turn which led to the crash.  The suspect vehicle fled the scene of the crash, the report states.  An investigation and evidence on the scene enabled police to locate the suspect vehicle; however at the time of the report, no contact has been made with the owner of the suspect vehicle.

*4:44 PM – Brownwood Police were dispatched to the 1800 block of Vincent Street regarding an assault.  According to the report, it was determined that a 29-year-old male was assaulted by a 25-year-old female.  The male suffered a small laceration to the upper lip and a bloodied nose, the report states.  The female had left the scene prior to the officer’s arrival, according to the report.

*A Brown County Sheriff’s deputy met with a complainant at the law enforcement center regarding fraud.  According to the report, someone had passed a check using her name and information at a Wal-Mart in Austin, Texas.

Thursday, February 6

*9:10 AM – Brownwood Police met with a complainant at the law enforcement center regarding stalking.  According to the report, a 61-year-old female advised officers that her 65-year-old ex-husband had been contacting her by telephone even after she had advised him to cease the calls.  The complainant also stated that the suspect has also driven by her residence on at least one occasion and questioned her about her whereabouts at the time, the report states.   Other circumstances have led the victim to believe that the suspect might be trespassing on her property during the nighttime hours.

*10:23 AM – Brownwood Police were dispatched to the 100 block of Market Place Blvd regarding theft.  According to the report, an electric hammer drill had been taken from the business without the owner’s consent, approximately 3-4 weeks prior to the report.

*11:40 AM – Brownwood Police were called to the 1500 block of 4th Street regarding a scam.  According to the report, the complainant advised that an unknown suspect claiming to be with the “U.S. Federal Government Grant Department” scammed him out of a large sum of money.  A report for theft greater than $500 less than $1500 was filed at the complainant’s request.

*1:01 PM – Brownwood Police were called to Wal-Mart regarding theft.  According to the report, asset protection employees had caught two women, identified as 41-year-old Holly Rudene Hudson McKee and 39-year-old Courtney Hudson Lockett, shoplifting a variety of merchandise valued at approximately $129.00.  The stolen items included scrapbooking stickers, birthday and Valentine’s Day cards, personal hygiene items, cat food, socks, a pillow case, and fake eyelashes, the report states.  McKee and Lockett were arrested and charged with theft greater than $50, less than $500.

*8:12 PM – Brownwood Police were dispatched to the 1600 block of Brady Avenue regarding a civil standby for a child exchange which had gotten into a physical altercation.  Charges are pending for assault causes bodily injury.

*A Brown County Sheriff’s deputy was called to Hwy 183N regarding the theft of five women’s rings.  According to the deputy’s report, there were no suspects at the time of the report.

*Bangs Police arrested 21-year-old Colby Clyde Adams on Bangs municipal warrants related to no seat belt, speeding, failure to appear and violate promise to appear.

*Texas Juvenile Justice Department arrested 17-year-old Ariel Nicole Cunningham on a warrant related to assault of a public servant.

*Texas Juvenile Justice Department arrested 18-year-old Bridget Gonzales on a warrant for assault of a public servant.

*Early Police arrested 33-year-old Joshua Noah Hashbarger of Tulsa, Oklahoma for disorderly conduct.

*Brownwood Police arrested 21-year-old Richard Zachery O’Connor on a warrant related to theft of property equal or less than $50 greater than $500.

*Brownwood Police arrested 37-year-old Ashley Montemayer Pruett on warrants related to forgery and a parole violation.

Friday, February 7

*Brown County Sheriff’s Department arrested 56-year-old Kim Douglas Duncan of Blanket for possession of a controlled substance penalty group 1 less than 1 gram.

*Brownwood Police arrested 30-year-old Jason Kyle Watkins on warrants related to hinder apprehension, expired driver’s license, and failure to appear.
