Around 2:00pm Sunday, a Brown County Sheriff’s Office patrol sergeant was notified of a theft that had just occurred on County Road 106.  According to the officer’s report, the victims stated that they had just passed a truck which had items belonging to them in it.  With a description of the suspect vehicle and its direction of travel, the officer was able to locate the alleged thieves at Country Motors Wrecking Yard on Hwy 279, the report states.

The suspects, identified as Troy Michael Hall, Larry Dale Allcorn and Jason David Keeney, were all questioned about the property that they had in their possession without the owners’ consent, the report states.  The items taken consisted of several pieces of aluminum, several pieces of copper tubing, and items that contained copper in them such as a water heater and refrigerator.  All three suspects admitted to jumping a fence in order to steal the items and that they were at Country Motors in order to sell the metals, reported the sergeant in his report.

During the inventory of the vehicle, a small quantity of marijuana was found along with a smoking device that Allcorn admitted belonged to him, the report states.  Hall, Allcorn, and Keeney were charged with felony theft because the items that were stolen consisted of aluminum and copper.  Allcorn was additionally charged with possession of marijuana under 2 ounces.

Tuesday, January 31

*8:00am-Brownwood Police received a report of the burglary of a vehicle in the 800 block of Malone Street.  According to the report, the complainant stated that money, a laptop computer, backpack and several medical tools were stolen from the vehicle.

*4:34pm-Brownwood Police received a report of theft in the 3900 block of Crestridge.  According to the report, the complainant stated that her storage building was broken into and several power tools were stolen.

Wednesday February 1

*1:58pm-Brownwood Police were dispatched to the 1200 block of Avenue J regarding theft of medication.

Friday, February 3

*6:15pm-Brownwood Police received a report of fraud via telephone.  According to the report, the complainant stated that his soon-to-be ex-wife made an unauthorized withdrawal from his bank account on February 1st.  The complainant is currently stationed overseas according to the report.

*8:47pm-Brownwood Police were called to the 600 block of Avenue G regarding a debit card which had been stolen and used by a suspect.  According to the report, the complainant stated that the incident occurred sometime between the hours of 10:30am and 10:45am this date.

*9:19pm-Brownwood Police were dispatched to the 2000 block of Avenue I regarding a runaway juvenile.  According to the report, the complainant stated that her 14-year-old son ran away from the residence at approximately 3:00pm this date.

*9:56pm-A Brownwood Police officer was in the 1400 block of Avenue D when he observed a vehicle parked on the wrong side of the road.  According to the report, the vehicle then drove on the wrong side of the road, resulting in the officer making a traffic stop.  This stop led to two citations being issued to the driver for No Drivers License and Open Container and a warning issued for Driving on the Wrong Side of the Roadway.

*10:08pm-Brownwood Police responded to the 1200 block of Bailey Street regarding a runaway juvenile.  According to the report, the complainant stated her foster child ran away from her residence, last seen around 7:00pm.

Saturday, February 4

*3:07am-Brownwood Police were dispatched to the 2800 block of Southside Drive regarding an assault which had occurred at a residence in the 1300 block of Magnolia Street.  According to the report, the complainant stated that a named suspect had punched her in the face with a closed fist as she was attempting to leave the residence.  Charges are being pursued against the suspect for Assault Causing Bodily Injury.

*11:32am-Brownwood Police were called to the 1800 block of 4th Street regarding criminal mischief.  According to the report, the complainant stated that his vehicle had been shot several times by a BB gun or pellet gun.

*1:06pm-Brownwood Police were called to the 1300 block of Magnolia Street regarding criminal mischief.  According to the report, the complainant stated that someone had “keyed” the hood of his car sometime the night before.

*3:07pm-Brownwood Police were dispatched to the 300 block of Bluffview Drive regarding theft.  According to the report, the complainant stated that her iPhone 3GS was stolen some time during a party at her residence the night before.  The complainant told officers that a known suspect had stolen the phone, the report states.  The suspect was interviewed and denied taking the phone according to the report.  The complainant wished to pursue charges against the suspect, the report states.

*3:45pm-Brownwood Police were called to the 1600 block of 10th Street regarding an unwanted person.  According to the report, the complainant stated that a suspect who is the daughter of a girl who was at the complainant’s home with the complainant’s granddaughter came to the residence and was accusing the complainant’s granddaughter of having clothes that belonged to his daughter.    The complainant stated that the man tried to push her front door open and was argumentative, the report states.  She did not want the man on her property again and wished to have a criminal trespass warning issued.

*4:37pm-Brownwood Police were called to the 1400 block of Austin Avenue regarding theft.  According to the report, an employee of Brookshire’s noticed a suspect and believed he was attempting to shoplift lunch meat.

*11:31pm-Brownwood Police were called to the 400 block of Main Street, LaBotana Restaurant regarding theft.  According to the report, money was stolen from the business and suspects have been named; however no arrests had been made at the time of the report.

*Early Police arrested 23-year-old Cody Lee Porter of Mullin for Possession of a Controlled Substance Penalty Grade 1 Less than 1g in a Drug Free Zone.

*Early Police arrested 51-year-old Ricky Dean Reed of Blanket for Driving While License Invalid.

*Brown County Sheriff’s Office arrested 21-year-old Christian Rodriguez for Furnish Alcohol to Minor.

*Bangs Police arrested 20-year-old Michael Ryan Vaughan of Abilene for Burglary of a Vehicle.

Sunday, February 5

*1:04pm-Brownwood Police were called to the 1500 block of 2nd Street regarding a domestic disturbance between two sisters.  According to the report, one sister had bumped the other with a laundry basket and in turn, the other hit the one that bumped her on the back.  Both denied that they had assaulted each other and did not wish to pursue charges.

*2:03pm-A Brownwood driver got a surprise when a vehicle with red and blue emergency lights attempted to pull them over and then drove by and “flipped off” the driver, according to police.  According to police, a white Chevy truck was reported to have used blue and red emergency lights in an attempt to pull the reporting party over.  According to Assistant Chief of Police James Fuller, the incident was “just kids being kids.”  The two teenage girls had been given permission to use a truck which was equipped with emergency lights for a volunteer fire department; however, they decided to activate the emergency lights as if to pull a car over.  As the car pulled off the road, they drove by and “flipped off” the driver, according to Fuller.  The victim of their prank was able to get the license plate number of the truck and police contacted the owner.  The truck was returned to the proper owner and the incident was documented.

*6:25pm-Brownwood Police were called to 401 W. Commerce, Wal-Mart, regarding theft.  According to the report, the suspect was being detained in the loss prevention office for theft.  This call led to the arrest of 19-year-old Sandra Ortiz of San Saba for Theft Greater than $50 Less than $500.  Items stolen were valued at $68.75 and included toddler sized shoes and a Pantech Go Phone.

*8:27pm-Brownwood Police were dispatched to the 2000 block of US Hwy 377S regarding theft.  According to the report, beer valued at $16 was stolen from the business.  No suspects were identified at the time of the report.

*8:51pm-Brownwood Police were dispatched to the 300 block of Maple Street regarding a theft that had occurred.  According to the report, the complainant stated that her son’s boots had been stolen from the residence and named a suspect.    The call led to the suspect giving back the boots and receiving a criminal trespass warning for the property.

*10:42pm-Brownwood Police were called to the 1200 block of Avenue G regarding theft.  According to the report, the complainant stated that between the hours of 4:00am and 10:42am this date an unknown subject stole a bicycle valued at $250 from the residence.  The complainant did wish to pursue charges if a suspect could be found.

*10:55pm-Brownwood Police were called to the 2000 block of Avenue B regarding the burglary of a motor vehicle.  According to the report, the complainants stated that their vehicle was burglarized and that a gold colored Mary Kay money bag containing $40 in cash was stolen.

*Texas Department of Public Safety arrested 43-year-old Fayette Robert Barton for Driving While Intoxicated.

*Early Police Department arrested 29-year-old Jose Gonzales of Austin on a Border Patrol Hold.

*Brown County Sheriff’s Office arrested 28-year-old Christopher Cody Wilkins of Bangs for Possession of a Controlled Substance Penalty Grade 1 Greater or Equal to 4 grams Less than 200 grams.

All arrestees are considered innocent until proven guilty in a court of law.
