Law enforcement arrests and reports released Tuesday, February 3, 2015.

Thursday, January 29

*1:47 PM – Brownwood Police were dispatched to the 2100 block of Slayden Street, Brownwood High School regarding minor in possession of tobacco.  According to the report, an investigation determined that two students, located in the courtyard area of the campus, were in possession of tobacco and both were issued citations for minor in possession of tobacco.  The students were additionally placed into in-school suspension as school discipline.

*7:30 PM – Brownwood Police were called to the 2300 block of Vine Street regarding the burglary of a habitation.

Monday, February 2

*8:19 AM – Brownwood Police responded to the 1600 block of Calvert Drive regarding assault which had just occurred at the Brownwood Middle School.  An investigation determined that an assault had occurred and a juvenile suspect was taken into custody, processed at the Brownwood Police Department and then taken to the Juvenile Detention Center.  Additionally, the student was placed into the Disciplinary Alternative Education Program (DAEP) for 45 days as school discipline.

*2:40 PM – A Brown County Sheriff’s deputy was dispatched to a property on County Road 588 regarding the theft of a fire arm from a vehicle.  According to the report, the complainant stated that between 5:30 PM on February 1st and 12:00 PM on February 2nd an unknown subject entered the complainant’s pickup and stole his Springfield Armory model XDM .40 caliber S&W handgun, valued at $500.

*3:56 PM – Brownwood Police were called to the 1700 block of 4th Street for an agency assist in locating a stolen vehicle on the south side of Brownwood.  A Brownwood Police officer located the vehicle and made contact with the occupants inside.  A male subject inside the vehicle was determined to have an active warrant and was subsequently placed under arrest.

*5:47 PM – A Brown County Sheriff’s deputy was called to the area of north Hwy 279 in Brownwood regarding a burglary of a building.  According to the report, the complainant stated that someone had entered her deceased husband’s shop and stolen her property.  It is uncertain when the offense occurred; however, the complainant noticed the first property missing on Saturday, January 31, 2015.

*8:42 PM – A Brown County Sheriff’s deputy made a traffic stop on US Hwy 67 West.  According to the report, the driver, identified as 30-year-old John Edward Sluss of Leander admitted that he had marijuana in his shoe and folding papers in his wallet.  Sluss was subsequently arrested for possession of marijuana less than 2 ounces and possession or delivery of drug paraphernalia, the report states.

*10:03 PM – A Brown County Sheriff’s deputy was assisting an Early police officer with a traffic stop when he noticed 32-year-old Crystal Lee Thomson of Early driving a vehicle in the location of the traffic stop.  According to the report, the deputy had knowledge that Thomson from previous incidents and that her driver’s license is suspended.  He detained Thomson to confirm her license status and eventually placed her under arrest for committing the offense of driving while license invalid with previous conviction.

*A Texas Parks and Wildlife game warden arrested 35-year-old Shandra Dawn Douglas of Brownwood for driving while intoxicated.

*Brown County Sheriff’s Office arrested 21-year-old Krystal Hampton of Brownwood for possession of a controlled substance penalty group 1 less than 1 gram.

*Brownwood Police arrested 28-year-old Trent Seth Rinehart of Snyder on a warrant related to possession of a controlled substance penalty group 1 less than 1 gram in a drug free zone.
