A pair of drug related arrests on Sunday by the Bangs Police Department and Brown County Sheriff’s office led to the recovery of some checks that were reported stolen out of Coleman.
According to reports, Bangs Police arrested 32-year-old William West Johnson II of Coleman for manufacture/delivery of a controlled substance over 4 grams under 200 grams in a drug free zone, and possession of a controlled substance at the Allsups in Bangs on Sunday morning. Reports state that the suspect and other occupants of the vehicle were unable to pay for gasoline that was purchased and the clerk alerted authorities who were already at the location. After investigating the incident, Bangs Police made the arrest and released the driver and other passenger of the vehicle.
Reports state that a Brown County Sheriff’s deputy who was also at the scene was alerted by Brownwood Police that the driver of the vehicle that was just released had a suspended driver’s license with surcharge due and was possibly in possession of methamphetamine.
Consent was granted to search the vehicle and a broken methamphetamine pipe was found under the back seat along with a small plastic Ziploc baggie which contained a small red baggie inside it, reports state. The pipe contained a residue that field tested positive for methamphetamine, according to authorities. At the Brown County Jail, a piece of cut straw, which is normally used or associated with illegal narcotics use, was found in Donham’s underwear when she was strip searched.
According to the report, the passenger of the vehicle was found to have two checks which were reported as stolen and part of a case being investigated by the Coleman Police. Donham was found to have three additional checks from the same account in her front pants pocket, the report states. All of the checks were recovered and placed into evidence at the Brown County Sheriff’s Office. Donham was additionally charged with Possession of a Controlled Substance and Tampering with Evidence.

Thursday, February 23
*1:54pm-Brownwood Police met with a complainant at the Law Enforcement Center regarding a hit and run accident. According to the report, the complainant stated that there was no damage to his vehicle when he left his residence in the 2000 block of Brady Avenue earlier that morning, drove to Wal-Mart, and then to Rosa’s Café. When he left Rosa’s Cafe, he noticed damage to the front bumper of the vehicle, the report states. It was uncertain if the damage occurred at Wal-Mart or at Rosa’s Café.
Saturday, February 25
*4:01pm-A Brown County Sheriff’s deputy conducted a traffic stop on a vehicle for not having a front license plate. When the officer made contact with the driver, identified as 23-year-old Jessica Parsons, he noticed a smell of marijuana coming from the vehicle. The vehicle was searched and a pipe containing marijuana was found and Parsons admitted to the deputy that she had “smoked marijuana earlier this date just prior to picking up the passengers of the vehicle,” the report states. Parsons was arrested for Possession of Marijuana Less than 2 ounces.
Sunday, February 26
*2:59pm-Brownwood Police were dispatched to the 2000 block of Slayden regarding an assault and the theft of a cell phone. According to the report, two juveniles assaulted another juvenile and stole his phone. The two suspect juveniles were located and found to have broken the phone, the report states. Their parents agreed to pay restitution so the complainant declined pressing charges, according to police.
*Brown County Sheriff’s Office issued a trespass warning to a 45-year-old male subject who moved a trailer house onto the property of a 26-year-old female. According to the report, when the male subject was contacted on the property, he stated that “he did not know the property belonged to anyone.” The owner had not given the man consent to move the trailer onto the property and a criminal trespass warning was issued at the owner’s request to the man. He was instructed to remove the trailer and not return to the property. The man did remove the trailer and left the property without incident.
Monday, February 27
*9:58am-Brownwood Police met a complainant at the Law Enforcement Center who reported identity theft. According to the report, the complainant stated that an unknown subject was using his personal identifying information at unknown locations in California. An investigation into the identity theft was opened.
*10:14am-Brownwood Police received a report by telephone of the theft of a lawn mower in the 1900 block of 14th Street.
*2:48pm-Brown County Sheriff’s Office received a report at the Law Enforcement Center regarding a dog bite. According to the report, an employee for Central Texas Communications was bit at approximately 3pm on Friday, February 24th while on a repair call at a customer’s residence. According to the report, the victim reported going to his truck when another vehicle arrived at the residence and the dog got excited and bit him, then ran off. He stated that the dog did not seem vicious and gave a description of the dog, the report states. The owner of the dog was contacted and stated that the dog was behind on its rabies shots, according to the report. The owner was instructed to get the dog up to date on his shots and to quarantine the dog for ten days to make sure that it does not have rabies, and that the deputy will do a follow up visit to check on the dog, the report states.
*4:41pm-A Brown County Sheriff’s Deputy was dispatched to a civil matter at a residence in Early after dispatch advised him that a vehicle recovery service was trying to repossess a vehicle when the owner got into the vehicle and drove it off of the wrecker and left the scene. According to the report, a DPS trooper arrived at the residence and stated that the vehicle had returned. The BCSO deputy arrived and spoke with the owner of the residence, 45-year-old Bruce Hawkins, who advised a repossession company had attempted to take his vehicle. Hawkins was requesting to go inside the house for something and was asked if there were any guns inside the residence to which he answered there were two, the report states. Upon checking Hawkins criminal background, he showed to be a convicted felon, according to the deputy’s report. The home was searched and the two guns were located and removed. The recovery company was contacted and allowed to remove the vehicle from the property prior to Hawkins arrest for Possession of a Firearm by felon.
*Early Police arrested 43-year-old Rudolfo Reyna for Criminal Trespass.
*Brownwood Police arrested 41-year-old Aaron Ray Pippin for Theft of Property Greater than $50 and Less than $500.
All arrestees are innocent until proven guilty in a court of law.
