LECSmBrownwood Police are investigating the stabbing of a woman early Tuesday morning.  According law enforcement, the incident occurred shortly after 3:30 a.m. in the 1700 block of 3rd Street.

Police met with the victim who stated that she and a relative had been at a friend’s apartment doing laundry until early in the morning and had gotten into an argument which escalated to the stabbing, the report states.

The victim stated that she had become tired and attempted to leave, which made the relative very angry.  As she attempted to leave in her car, the suspect allegedly tried to take her keys and when unsuccessful, he then brandished a large Bowie knife which he allegedly used to stab her in the arm.  The stab wound was deep enough to expose fatty tissue of the arm, and the victim was taken to Brownwood Regional Medical Center by Guardian EMS ambulance.

The suspect left the scene in a pickup and was thought to have left town immediately after the incident.

The incident is pending further investigation according to police.

Monday, February 24

*10:58 AM – Brownwood Police were called to the 1800 block of Brady Avenue regarding the burglary of a habitation.  According to the report, the complainant stated that forced entry was made into the home and a cellular phone valued at $200 was stolen.  The complainant wished to pursue criminal charges if a suspect can be identified.

*11:23 AM – Brownwood Police were dispatched to the 500 block of E. Chandler regarding the burglary of a habitation.  According to the report, medication was stolen while the complainant was away from the residence.

*3:39 PM – Brownwood Police responded to a residence on Belle Plain regarding disposal of narcotics which belonged to a deceased relative of the resident. The medication was seized and will be destroyed at the Brownwood Police Department.

*5:34 PM – Brownwood Police were called to the 200 block of E. Commerce regarding a domestic disturbance.  According to the report, three female family members were creating a disturbance in the parking lot of the business.  The females’ vehicle was parked at the curb, next to the front door of the business and due to their disruptive behavior, the manager of the business requested that the three subjects be issued criminal trespass warnings.

*9:30PM – Brownwood Police were dispatched to the 1000 block of Avenue D regarding a domestic disturbance.  This call led to the arrest of 23-year-old Dustin Roy Roberts for resist arrest, disorderly conduct abusive profane language, and public intoxication.

*Brown County Sheriff’s Office received a report of credit/debit card abuse.  According to the report, the complainant stated that there were 7 unauthorized charges to two of his credit cards totaling $98.28.

*A Brown County Sheriff’s deputy received a report by phone of an assault which occurred on Waco Street.  According to the report, a suspect was named and the complainant stated he had been transported to the Brownwood Regional Medical Center by ambulance for examination and treatment for his injuries.  He did not wish to press charges according to the report.

*Brown County Sheriff’s Office arrested 32-year-old Kimberly Ann Adkins Kinkaid of Brownwood on a warrant related to failure to appear/driving while license invalid with previous convictions.

*Brown County Sheriff’s Office arrested 24-year-old Kyle Lee Pena on Brown County warrants related to failure to appear/driving while license invalid/failure to maintain financial responsibility, display expired license plate, violate promise to appear, driving while license invalid and a Comanche County warrant for failure to appear/theft greater than $500 less than $1500.

*Brown County Sheriff’s Office arrested 26-year-old Devan Wayne Vogel of Bangs on warrants related to display expired license, violate promise to appear and failure to maintain financial responsibility.

Tuesday, February 25

*3:38 PM – Brownwood Police responded to Wal-Mart regarding theft.  According to the report, two suspects were detained for theft totaling $40.10.  Employees had witnessed the pair concealing items attempting to leave the store without paying.  Wal-Mart wished to pursue criminal charge; subsequently, citations and criminal trespass warnings issued to both subjects.

*3:47 PM – Brownwood Police met with a complainant at the law enforcement center regarding the theft of a cell phone at Wal-Mart.

*25-year-old Kelli Michelle Livingston of Early turned herself in on a warrant related to failure to appear/assault family violence.

*Brown County Sheriff’s Office arrested 27- year-old David Ortiz Martinez, Jr. on a warrant for motion to revoke/driving while intoxicated.

Wednesday, February 26

*Brown County Sheriff’s Office arrested 29-year-old Martin Joseph Mata of Brownwood on a Tom Green County warrant for motion to revoke less than 2 ounces.

*Early Police arrested 39-year-old Joe Martin Lozoya of Hereford for Deaf Smith County warrants related to assault family violence and terroristic threat.
