Tuesday, February 18
*8:16 AM – Brownwood Police were called to the 3600 block of Durham Avenue regarding criminal mischief. An investigation of the incident is underway, the report states.
*5:00 PM – Brownwood Police were dispatched to the 600 block of Avenue C regarding an assault. According to the report, the driver of a blue pickup truck allegedly assaulted the caller and tried to attack him with a machete. A license plate number was obtained and an investigation is underway, the report states.
Friday, February 21
*8:01 AM – A Brown County Sheriff’s deputy met with a complainant regarding criminal mischief. According to the report, an employee of BridgeTex Pipeline reported that a fire had occurred at one of his jobsites on County Road 478 in May and that he did not know who might have started the fire. The fire had damaged the “temporary fence gap” and post on the jobsite and also about 1/8 of an acre of grass, which the complainant estimated will cost approximately $700 to repair.
*12:22 PM – Brownwood Police were called to the 1400 block of Austin Avenue, Brookshire’s grocery store, regarding theft. According to the report, this call led to the arrest of 25-year-old Orlando Enrique Carrillo for theft less than $50 with previous convictions and possession of a controlled substance penalty group 3 less than 28 grams.
*1:57 PM – Brownwood Police met with a complainant at the law enforcement center regarding identification theft.
*A Brown County Sheriff’s deputy was called to a residence on Pleasant Valley Road in May regarding fraud. According to the complainant, her signature was being used without her consent in two separate incidents to acquire a financial benefit of approximately $4000 total.
*The Brownwood City Marshal arrested 53-year-old Debra Jo Herndon Thomas on a warrant related to failure to maintain financial responsibility.
* Brownwood Police arrested 31-year-old Buddy Leonard Allison of Early on a Brazos County warrant related to failure to appear. Allison was released on $8000 bond.
*Brownwood Police arrested 55-year-old Grady Douglas Chastain of Brownwood on a Comanche County warrant for theft of property and an Eastland County warrant related to theft of service. Chastain was being held in the Brown County Jail in lieu of bonds totaling $30,000 as of Monday morning.
*The Brownwood City Marshal arrested 35-year-old Elaina Aguirre of Brownwood on a warrant related to expired drivers’ license.
Saturday, February 22
*3:00 PM – Brownwood Police responded to the 2200 block of Austin Avenue regarding a motor vehicle accident. According to the report, officers arrived on scene and learned that one of the drivers had a suspended driver’s license. The driver claimed to have been injured and was transported to Brownwood Regional Medical Center for treatment. A warrant will be issued for driving while license invalid multiple offenses, the report states.
*6:13 PM – Brownwood Police were dispatched to the 1500 block of 1st Street regarding a stolen bicycle.
*7:50 PM – Brownwood Police were called to the 1800 block of Belle Plain Street regarding a female subject who was possibly attempting to sell a quantity of narcotics. According to the report, the female was located in the 1800 block of Belle Plain. During an investigation, officers discovered that the female, identified as 39-year-old Lucy Ann Ogden of Brownwood, was in possession of a small quantity of a controlled substance, the report states. Subsequently, the female was arrested and charged with possession of a controlled substance.
*11:16 PM – Brownwood Police were called to the 1600 block of 6th Street regarding an assault which occurred between two individuals. According to the report, this call led to the arrest of 42-year-old Lavert Lamont Hawkins of Brownwood for the offense of Assault Causes Bodily Injury Family Violence.
*Early Police arrested 51-year-old Randall Scott Snell of Brownwood for driving while intoxicated 3rd or more. Snell was held at the Brown County Jail in lieu of $10,000 as of Monday morning.
*Bangs Police arrested 23-year-old Travis Wayne Hoover of Bangs on a warrant related to theft of property equal to or greater than $20 less than $500 by check.
Sunday, February 23
*8:54 PM – Brownwood Police were dispatched to the 1000 block of La Monte Drive regarding cruelty to non-livestock animals. According to the report, the complainant’s dog was shot with a BB gun while it was in the complainant’s back yard.
*Early Police arrested 48-year-old John Michael Salazar of Brownwood for driving while license invalid with previous convictions.
*Texas Department of Public Safety arrested 37-year-old Nathan Wayne Henson for driving while intoxicated with child less than 15 years of age.
Monday, February 24
*3:01 AM – Brownwood Police were called to the 2500 block of W. Main Blvd. regarding a welfare check. According to the report, information was obtained that an assault occurred at the above residence. As a result of the investigation, 33-year-old Rafael Lara of Brownwood was arrested for injury to a child as well as assault with injury family violence.
*Texas Department of Public Safety arrested 26-year-old Daniel Lee Mendieta of Bangs for manufacture delivery of a controlled substance penalty group 1 greater than 1 gram less than 4 grams, possession of marijuana less than 2 ounces in a drug free zone and on a Travis County warrant for driving while license invalid with previous convictions.
*Texas Department of Public Safety arrested 28-year-old Joseph Anthony Mendieta of Austin for manufacture delivery of a controlled substance penalty group 1 greater than 1 gram less than 4 grams and possession of marijuana less than 2 ounces in a drug free zone.
