Friday, February 19
*8:04 AM – A Brown County Sheriff’s deputy arrived on scene at a two-vehicle accident. According to the report, Texas DPS Troopers were unable to investigate this crash, due to a critical incident in Comanche County. The Brown County Sheriff’s deputy Boulter investigated the crash and made a report of the incident.
*2:42 PM – Brownwood Police were dispatched to the 2300 block of Good Shepherd Drive regarding the theft of a firearm.
*4:10 PM – A Brown County Sheriff’s deputy Byron Langley arrived at a local goat ranch, located on FM 590 North in Zephyr, regarding stolen livestock. According to the report, the complainant stated someone had taken a buck/male kid goat and a doe/female kid goat from his property.
*9:09 PM – A Brown County Sheriff’s deputy was dispatched to an address on CR 134 regarding the theft of a firearm.
*9:21 PM – A Brown County Sheriff’s deputy Ronny Bowman was called to the Brownwood Regional Medical Center emergency room for a gunshot wound. According to the report, the victim and a witness reported that the victim thought his gun was unloaded and was going to clean it; however, it was not and he shot himself in the left hand. After an investigation it is not believed foul play is involved, the report states.*11:42 PM – Brownwood Police were called to the 1000 block of 3rd Street regarding a weapons offense. According to the report, the complainant stated that someone had fired a gun which hit his house. An investigation is ongoing, the report states.
*Brown County Sheriff’s Office arrested 33-year-old Frank William Brummett on a warrant related to possession of a controlled substance penalty group 3 less than 28 grams.
*41-year-old Sergio Efrain Castillo of Brownwood turned himself in on a warrant related to manufacture delivery of a controlled substance not in penalty group in a drug free zone.
*Brown County Sheriff’s Office arrested 51-year-old Troy Dean Glaeske of Brownwood on a warrant related to possession of a controlled substance penalty group 1 less than 1 gram.
*Brown County Sheriff’s Office arrested 28-year-old Chelsea Rene Mallone of Brownwood on warrants related to surety withdrawals for possession of a controlled substance penalty group 2 equal or greater than 4 grams, less than 200 grams, and theft from person enhanced along with a Weatherford Police warrant for organized retail theft. Mallone was being held in the Brown County Jail on bonds totaling $98,000.
Saturday, February 20
*6:30 AM – Brownwood Police were dispatched to the 2200 block of 12th Street regarding the burglary of a vehicle. According to the report, a hunting rifle and ammunition were taken out of the unlocked vehicle during the night.
*9:53 AM – Brownwood Police were called to the 2500 block of 12th Street regarding criminal mischief. According to the report, several mailboxes in the area had been vandalized during the night. A report for criminal mischief over $100 under $750 was filed.
*2:15 PM – Brownwood Police were dispatched to the 1000 block of Riverside Drive regarding an unconscious subject, later identified as 28-year-old Donald McCullough of Brownwood. As the officer made contact McCullough became physically combative and attempted to assault him, the report states. Once restrained, McCullough also began to resist arrest and was found to be very intoxicated on alcoholic beverages, according to police. McCullough was a danger to himself and others and was arrested for resisting arrest/detention/transport and for public intoxication.
*2:53 PM – A Brown County Sheriff’s deputy received a report via telephone call of fraud. The deputy later traveled to a property on CR 151 to retrieve documents related to this report.
*3:47 PM – A Brown County Sheriff’s deputy was called to the intersection of FM 586 and County Road 225 regarding the dumping of a boat and other trash on the side of the road.
* 5:50 PM – A Brown County Sheriff’s deputy was dispatched to a residence on Temple Avenue in regarding a vehicle which was possibly stolen. According to the report, the vehicle was found to be stolen out of Temple, Texas, a suspect was named and the vehicle was towed for further processing.
*A Brown County Sheriff’s deputy was dispatched to the emergency room regarding a subject there with a gunshot wound to the hand. According to the report, the male victim advised he had just chambered a round in his Colt 1911 45ACP pistol when he let the hammer slip and the gun went off hitting him in his left hand.
*12:50 PM – Early Police responded to an assault in progress in the 200 block of Liveoak Drive. According to the report, the victim stated that 18-year-old Richard Crawford had attacked her, hit her in the chest and knocked her down then pulled a knife on her. The victim tried to call 911 and Crawford took the phone and threw it, then held the knife up and stated “you’re going to die today,” the report states. The responding officer began searching the area and located the suspect in a trailer behind the victim’s trailer. Crawford was placed under arrest for aggravated assault with a deadly weapon and interference with a 911 call, according to police. Crawford was being held in the Brown County Jail in lieu of bonds totaling $18,000.
*Brownwood Police arrested 18-year-old Kyle Maxcy of Kempner, Texas for possession of marijuana and on a Coryell County warrant related to motion to revoke burglary of a habitation.
*Brownwood Police arrested 29-year-old Christine Hawke Quigley of Brownwood on a warrant related to failure to appear.
*Brownwood Police arrested 37-year-old Grady Steven Sanderson of Early on a warrant related to reckless driving.
*Brown County Sheriff’s Office arrested 21-year-old Bobby Joe Soza of May, Texas on warrants related to display expired license/registration and violate promise to appear.
*Brownwood Police arrested 17-year-old Maddison Renee Sturgeon of Bangs for possession of marijuana.
Sunday, February 21
*8:24 AM – Brownwood Police were called to the 3900 block of Oakdale Drive regarding the theft of medication. According to the report, a suspect was identified and an investigation is ongoing.
*12:30 PM – Brownwood Police were dispatched to the intersection of Austin Avenue and FM 2128 for a possible incident of driving under the influence. According to the report, a traffic stop was made in the 3300 block of Stephen F. Austin, which led to the arrest of 30-year-old Thomas Shifflett of Brownwood for driving while intoxicated.
*2:00 PM – Brownwood Police were called to the 2800 block of Southside Drive regarding a motor vehicle accident. According to the report, two damaged vehicles were located; however, no drivers were present. A witness pointed out the location of one of the drivers of one of the vehicles involved, the report states. During an investigation, narcotics were located in the vehicle and on the driver’s person. The driver, identified as 26-year-old Ashley Nicole Vrba of Brownwood for possession of drug paraphernalia, possession of marijuana less than 2 ounces and possession of a controlled substance penalty group 3 less than 28 grams.
*4:47 PM – Brownwood Police were dispatched to the 2000 block of Austin Avenue regarding theft of property. According to the report, an MP3 player had been stolen.
*7:09 PM – Brownwood Police were dispatched to the 1800 block of 7th Street regarding an assault.
*7:09 PM – Brownwood Police were called to the 1800 block of 7th Street regarding a civil dispute. According to the report, while on scene, drugs/narcotics and drug/narcotics equipment were located. As a result of this call, 18-year-old Gage James Woodcock of Brownwood was arrested for possession of marijuana less than 2 ounces.
*Bangs Police arrested 33-year-old Eric Edward Babcock of Bangs on a warrant related to motion to adjudicate/possession of a controlled substance penalty group 1 less than 1 gram in a drug free zone.
*Brownwood Police arrested 39-year-old Tracy Marie Denbow of Brownwood for theft of property equal or greater than $100 less than $750.
*36-year-old Shandra Dawn Douglas of Brownwood turned herself in on a warrant related to driving while intoxicated.
*Texas Department of Public Safety arrested 42-year-old Jorge A. Olvera for driving while intoxicated, driving while license invalid, and on Travis County warrants related to motions to revoke driving while intoxicated and driving while license invalid. Olvera was being held in the Brown County Jail in lieu of bonds totaling $15,000.
Monday, February 22
*12:59 AM – Brownwood Police were dispatched to the 2300 block of 13th Street regarding a burglary in progress. According to the report, the complainant stated someone had broken into the home, but had fled the scene prior to officers’ arrival.
