Law Enforcement arrests and reports released Tuesday, February 22 and Wednesday, Feb 23.

Saturday, February 19

*1:05pm- A Brown County Sheriff’s deputy was called to a residence regarding theft.  According to the report, the complainant stated that someone had removed several items of oil field equipment and may have possibly been sold at a local business for scrap iron.

Sunday, February 20

*5:39pm-Brownwood Police spoke with a complainant at the Brownwood Police Department in reference to a found wallet.  Numerous attempts to contact the owner failed and the wallet was placed into the property room at BPD until the owner can properly identify and claim it the report states.

*7:10pm-Brownwood Police were called to the 700 block of Almond regarding a run away.  According to the report, a search of the area was conducted; however the juvenile was not located.  The juvenile was entered into the database as a runaway.

 

*7:29pm-Brownwood Police responded to the 2800 block of 4th Street regarding a hit and run involving four vehicles.  According to the report, suspect information was obtained and led to the arrest of 23-year-old Christopher Bernard Williams for Failure to Comply with Requirements of Striking Unattended Vehicle and Possession of Marijuana in a Drug Free Zone.

*8:32pm-Brownwood Police were called to the 800 block of Avenue H regarding a burglary.  According to the report, officers met with a neighbor who observed two males leaving the residence with a large 50 inch plasma television in their hands.   The neighbor reported having knowledge that the homeowner was not home at the time the report states.   The suspects were reported to have fled the scene in a white Chevrolet pickup according to police reports.

*9:35pm-Brownwood Police were called to a burglary of a residence in the 800 block of Avenue C.  Stolen were two .22 caliber rifles valued at $600.  According to the report, the complainant stated that the incident occurred between the hours of 7:30pm-9:15pm and that someone had entered through a window and removed several rifles from a gun case, taking the two .22 rifles.

*Brown County Sheriff’s Office arrested 39-year-old Rex Aaron Bennett on charges of Resisting Arrest, Search or Transport and Assault Class C.

Monday, February 21

*10:15am-A Brownwood Police officer met with a complainant at BPD regarding criminal mischief.  While at a local restaurant on February 20th between the hours of 9:30am-2:00pm, his pickup was scratched with an unknown sharp object on the front door and rear side fender around the tire area on the passenger side of the vehicle the report states.

*10:37am-Brownwood Police were dispatched to 1300 Austin Avenue, CVS, regarding a theft.  According to the report, a subject was issued a criminal trespass warning to all CVS property.

*11:59pm-Brownwood Police were called to the 1700 block of Austin Avenue regarding a complaint of a sexual assault.  According to the report, police spoke with the complainant and the parties involved and determined that the encounter was consensual.

*2:55pm-Brownwood Police responded to the 3200 block of Stephen F. Austin, the Green Oaks Trailer Park regarding a sick raccoon.  According to the report, a resident had found a raccoon in the parking lot that appeared visibly ill.  The animal control officer was not available or on duty; however Sgt. Carroll was notified of the situation and received permission from Lt. Delgado to put the animal down.  Animal control officer Nick Ferguson confirmed that the animal did not have any interaction with humans and was not tested for rabies.

*Early Police Department arrested 36-year-old Randy Cornett of Blanket for Driving While Intoxicated.

*Texas Department of Public Safety arrested 31-year-old Daniel Floyd Landers for Driving While License Invalid.

Tuesday, February 22

*11:34am-Brownwood Police were called to a local hotel regarding a deceased person who, according to police reports, appeared to have committed suicide.  According to the report, the BPD Criminal Investigation Division was called to investigate the scene.

*4:57pm-Brownwood Police were dispatched to the 1500 block of Coggin Avenue regarding an unwanted person.   According to the report, a criminal trespass warning was issued to a subject on scene at the request of the property manager.

*6:22pm-Brownwood Police responded to the 500 block of W. Anderson Street regarding a domestic disturbance.  According to the report, investigation determined a male and female were involved in an argument that escalated into a physical altercation at the residence.

*6:36pm-Brownwood Police were called to the 400 block of Lipscomb regarding theft.  According to the report, an investigation determined that approximately 30 feet of electrical wire was cut and removed from the outside of the residence.

*Early Police arrested Kristy Marie Hays for Assault Causing Bodily Injury Family Violence.

*Brown County Sheriff’s Office received a report that a homemade utility trailer had been stolen from a property on Park Road 15.  No suspect had been arrested at the time of the report; however, whoever stole the trailer also left a small utility trailer and Kawasaki Mule on the complainant’s property the report states.

Wednesday, February 23

*Brownwood Police arrested 41-year-old Chad William Beasley for Public Intoxication.

All arrestees are innocent until proven guilty in a court of law.
