Law enforcement arrests and reports released Thursday, February 20, 2014.
Wednesday, February 19
*9:11 AM – Brownwood Police were called to the 2300 block of Austin Avenue regarding harassment. According to the report, the complainant stated that a client, identified as 45-year-old Rudolfo Reyna of Brownwood, had cursed at another client and had threatened the client with bodily harm if she did not give him a cigarette. Reyna was subsequently arrested and charged with assault by threat.
*12:43 PM – Brownwood Police were dispatched to the 3300 block of Stephen F. Austin Drive regarding a burglary of a habitation. According to the report, the victim advised that a known suspect had allegedly entered the residence through an unlocked door, without the victim’s consent and took a blanket and a cell phone charger.
*2:09 PM – Brownwood Police were called to the 3500 block of Surrey Lane regarding a runaway juvenile. According to the report, the complainant stated that her 16-year-old daughter had left the house Tuesday morning and had failed to return home.
*3:26 PM – Brownwood Police were dispatched to the 1600 block of Avenue I regarding an agency assist, a court ordered child removal from the home. While speaking with the residence, he stated that his ex-wife violated an active criminal trespass warning that was recently issued to her by knocking on his front door this date.*3:48 PM – Brownwood Police were called to the 1100 block of 4th Street regarding the burglary of a building. According to the report, a speaker box with 15-inch speakers valued at $500 was stolen from the complainant’s carport. While burglarizing the carport, the suspects damaged a Ford Escape which was parked in the driveway, the report states.
*4:51 PM – Brownwood Police responded to the 1500 block of Avenue B regarding a runaway juvenile. According to the report, when the officer arrived, the complainant stated that her 17-year-old foster son had returned to the residence after school, bloody and visibly upset. After being questioned about his bloody appearance, the juvenile left the residence without permission and without telling the foster parent where he was going.
*8:00 PM – Brownwood Police were dispatched to the 200 block of E. Commerce Street regarding the theft of a cell phone.
*Brown County Sheriff’s Office arrested 41-year-old Anthony James Garcia, Sr. on a warrant related to motion to revoke/possession of a controlled substance penalty group 1 less than 1 gram in a drug free zone.
*Texas Juvenile Justice Department arrested 17-year-old Alexxes L. Thomas for assault public servant.
Thursday, February 20
*1:26 AM – Brownwood Police were responded to the 4400 block of US Hwy 377 South, Gate 1 Motel, regarding a domestic disturbance. According to the report, an investigation determined that two subjects, a brother and sister were assaulted by a known subject. The suspect was not on scene when the officer arrived.
*Brownwood Police arrested 37-year-old Anthony Jay Dean of Brownwood on an Ector County warrant related to theft by check.
*Texas Department of Public Safety arrested 27-year-old David Ortiz Martinez, Jr. for driving while intoxicated 2nd/open container.
