Wednesday, January 28
*1:07 AM – Brown County Sheriff’s Office arrested 26-year-old Anthony Michael Willett of Brownwood for possession of a prohibited weapon during an investigation of shots fired on Belfast Drive. According to the report, Willett exited a residence located at Belfast Drive with a sawed off shotgun in his hand when deputies arrived to speak to him. The shotgun is a Mossberg New Haven 20 gauge bolt action with an overall length of 23 inches and the barrel length of 11 inches, which makes the shotgun illegal to possess, the report states. The stock of the shot gun was altered to make it into a pistol grip, explained the deputy in his report. Willet also had several items that belonged to another male subject in his possession, according to the report. He did not have any reason for having the items and they were seized as well, the deputy stated in his report.
Friday, January 30
*10:26 AM – Brownwood Police were called to the 1200 block of Austin Avenue regarding forgery. According to the report, 24-year-old Carrie Thetford and 23-year-old Gwendolyn Doud both of Brownwood, were found to be in possession and attempting to cash a forged check. It was discovered that the suspects had passed two other forged checks at this location recently, the report states. Thetford and Doud were placed under arrest for forgery of a financial instrument.
During an inventory of the vehicle Thetford and Doud were traveling in, the officer located a book of blank checks from the same account at Mills County State Bank as the above mentioned checks, a debit card, another check from a second account which did not belong to either Thetford or Doud, and a wallet with a Texas Drivers License of a male subject along with a marijuana smoking pipe and papers used to roll marijuana cigarettes, the report states. Thetford was also arrested on an active warrant related to motion to adjudicate, two additional counts of forgery of a financial instrument, and possession of drug paraphernalia. Doud was being held in the Brown County Jail in lieu of bonds totaling $10,000 as of Monday morning. Thetford was being held in lieu of bonds totaling $100,500 as of Monday morning.
*5:30 PM – A Brown County Sheriff’s deputy sized property from three individuals in reference to a theft which had occurred at a Walmart, located at 1410 E. Main Street in Eastland, Texas, according to BCSO reports.
*11:29 PM – Brownwood Police were called to the 500 block of W. Commerce regarding a suspect not paying for their meal. Employees of the business knew the customer and the investigation is ongoing, the report states.
*11:57 PM – Brownwood Police were called to the 500 block of W. Commerce regarding an intoxicated female. According to the report, officers made contact with the female, identified as 25-year-old Mecora Smith of Brownwood, who was observed to be intoxicated. Smith was subsequently arrested for public intoxication.
*Brown County Sheriff’s Office arrested 28-year-old Payden Blaine Blackburn of Brownwood on warrants related to theft of property greater than $500 less than $1500, violate promise to appear, no liability insurance, no drivers license and possession of a controlled substance penalty group 1 equal or greater than 4 grams less than 200 grams.
*Brown County Sheriff’s Office arrested 44-year-old Adan Salinas of San Saba on a parole violation.
*Brown County Sheriff’s Office arrested 26-year-old Kassie Leanne Sherrin of Brownwood for assault causes bodily injury family violence and resist arrest search or transport. Sherrin was being held in the Brown County Jail in lieu of bonds totaling $6000.
Saturday, January 31
*10:46 AM – A Brown County Sheriff’s deputy was dispatched to the Brownwood Country Club regarding theft. According to the report, an unknown person had entered the building sometime between 12:30 a.m. and 9:45 a.m. on this date, stealing 29 bottles of liquor valued at approximately $589.00.
*1:50 PM – Brownwood Police were dispatched to the 2200 block of Avenue I regarding theft. According to the report, an unknown suspect removed a generator from the back of the complainant’s pickup which had been parked on the street along the curb.
*7:00 PM – Brownwood Police were called to Walmart regarding theft. According to the report, the suspect, identified as 24-year-old Matthew Sydow was arrested for theft over $50 less than $500.
*7:15 PM – Brownwood Police were dispatched to the 1600 block of Avenue E regarding a domestic disturbance. According to the report, while in the area, 36-year-old Billy Brummett of Brownwood was observed to be intoxicated and trying to walk to Brookesmith. Brummett was arrested for the offense of public intoxication.
*9:20 PM – Brownwood Police were called to the 1800 block of 10th Street regarding a domestic disturbance which had occurred earlier this date.
*10:45 PM – Brownwood Police were dispatched to Walmart regarding trespassing. As a result of this call, 45-year-old Chad William Beasley of Brownwood was at Walmart and was subsequently arrested for criminal trespass, public intoxication and resisting arrest.
*Brownwood Police arrested 46-year-old Rudolfo Reyna of Brownwood on a warrant related to failure to appear/assault causes bodily injury. Reyna was being held in the Brown County Jail in lieu of $6000 bond.
Sunday, February 1
*12:19 PM – Brownwood Police were called to the 900 block of Coleman Street regarding an alarm. According to the report, it was discovered that an unknown suspect had entered three vehicles at the location and removed the GPS systems. The investigation is ongoing, the report states.
*6:58 PM – Brownwood Police were dispatched to the 400 block of W. Commerce regarding theft. According to the report, two suspects, identified as 28-year-old Gabriela Cortez and 52-year-old Yolanda Vargus both of Brownwood, were found with stolen property. Cortez and Vargus were arrested for the offense of theft of property greater than $50 less than $500.
*A Brown County Sheriff’s deputy made a traffic stop for a defective license plate lamp. This stop led to the arrest of the driver, identified as 40-year-old Michael Andrew Stanley of Early, due to his license being under 22 current suspensions as well as showing that Stanley had four previous convictions for driving while license invalid, the report states. Stanley was placed under arrest for driving while license invalid with previous convictions.
*Early Police arrested 35-year-old Kevin Floyd Baker of Bangs regarding driving while intoxicated 3rd or more. Baker was being held in the Brown County Jail in lieu of $10,000.
Monday, February 2
*3:11 AM – Brownwood Police made a traffic stop in the area of 10th Street and South US Hwy 377. According to the report, during the stop, a small glass marijuana smoking pipe was located in the vehicle. A citation was issued and a report was generated and turned into the Brownwood Police Department, the report states.
