Law Enforcement arrests and reports released Tuesday, February 1 and Wednesday, February 2, 2011
Monday, January 27
*2:00pm-Brownwood Police were called to the 1000 block of Irma regarding a burglary. According to the report, the complainant told police that some unknown suspect(s) damaged kitchen appliances during a burglary of an apartment. The door to the refrigerator was torn off, and the door to the gas stove was shattered. Damage was estimated to be $450.
Monday, January 31
*11:57am-Brownwood Police responded to the 300 block of N. Main Street in reference to a terroristic threat. According to the report, the complainant named a suspect that had allegedly threatened to kill her.
*Brown County Sheriff’s Department arrested 40-year-old Omar Martinez of Grand Prairie for Possession of Marijuana less than 2 oz.
Tuesday, February 1
*8:06pm-Officers were called to the 2800 block of 4th Street in reference to an assault. According to the report, the complainant showed injuries to her left arm which were consistent with being slapped. The suspect is related to and resides with the complainant. The suspect admitted to slapping the complainant after an argument over a cell phone. The complainant did not wish to pursue charges; however a family violence form was issued to the complainant.
*10:48pm-Brownwood Police responded to the report of an assault at a residence in the 300 block of Bluffview. According to the report, the officer spoke with the complainant who stated that his ex-girlfriend had come over to his apartment and assaulted him. Officers made contact with the suspect, who gave a different series of events leading to the incident the report states. Both parties had signs of injuries and refused to file criminal charges.
Wednesday, February 2
*9:33pm-A Brownwood Police officer was dispatched to the 1000 block of Irma Street in reference to an assault that had just occurred. According to the report, the victim stated her landlord, whose name she provided to the officer, had pushed her to the ground after an argument and had fled the scene. The victim did wish to pursue charges against her landlord.
All arrestees are innocent until proven guilty in a court of law.
