Thursday, February 12
*1:40 PM – A Brown County Sheriff’s deputy received a report of theft. According to the report, the complainant stated that a known subject had been using the complainant’s truck without permission and had taken $70 cash and a pack of cigarettes from inside the vehicle. The truck has been returned; however, the complainant wished for charges of theft to be filed against the subject for the missing cash and cigarettes.
Monday, February 16
*1:31 PM – Brownwood Police were called to the law enforcement center regarding an assault which had occurred on Saturday, February 14th. According to the report, the complainant stated that a known subject slapped her 11-year-old son.
Tuesday, February 17
*1:14 AM – A Brown County Sheriff’s deputy conducted a traffic stop on 6th Street in Bangs. According to the report, the deputy noticed nervous behavior and different stories from the occupants that led to him asking for consent to search the vehicle, which was granted. During the search, marijuana, drug paraphernalia, and a loaded handgun were discovered, the report states. The driver, identified as 25-year-old James Lee Kinsey of Brownwood, also had a suspended driver’s license, according to the report. Kinsey was arrested for unlawful carrying weapons, possession of marijuana*4:21 PM – Brownwood Police performed a warrant service in the 1300 block of Avenue H. According to the report, during the officers’ attempt to arrest the subject, he struggled and resisted. 25-year-old Roland Jacob Robledo of Brownwood was arrested for the active felony warrant and additionally for resist arrest, search or transport, the report states.
*6:16 PM – Brownwood Police responded to the Brownwood Regional Medical Center regarding an assault with injury.
*Brown County Sheriff’s Office arrested 28-year-old Jeffery Lewis Hale of Coleman on a warrant related to unauthorized use of a motor vehicle.
*Brown County sheriff’s Office arrested 31-year-old Brandon Jamall Payne of Bangs on warrants related to engage in organized criminal activity and possession of a controlled substance. Payne was being held in the Brown County Jail in lieu of bonds totaling $90,000.
Wednesday, February 18
*6:02 PM – Brownwood Police were dispatched to Walmart regarding theft. According to the report a female suspect attempted to steal a toothbrush and several cosmetic items and was issued a citation for theft less than $50.
*A Brown County Sheriff’s deputy was dispatched to a residence on Lakewood Drive regarding theft. According to the report, the complainant stated that two of his storage areas had been broken into. A push mower, weed eater and a riding lawn mower were taken in the burglary.
*A Brown County Sheriff’s deputy received a report of identity theft. According to the report, the complainant stated that the Internal Revenue Service (IRS) notified her that her social security number had been used to electronically file a 2014 Federal Tax Return. The complainant stated that she learned when she attempted to file her own income taxes and was rejected by the IRS, the report states.
*Early Police arrested 25-year-old Randy Perez of San Marcos for possession of marijuana less than 2 ounces in a drug free zone, open container alcohol and on a parole warrant.
*27-year-old Kevin Ross of Gatesville turned himself in on a warrant related to assault causes bodily injury.
Thursday, February 19
*4:08 AM – Brownwood Police received a report of unauthorized use of a motor vehicle. According to the report, the complainant stated that her daughter had stolen her 2004 Dodge Neon.
