Thursday, February 6
*The Brownwood ISD resource officer was approached while on duty at Brownwood High School regarding criminal mischief. According to the report, a student reported that his vehicle had been keyed while parked in a Brownwood High School parking lot during school hours. A suspect has been named and an investigation is underway, the report states.
Thursday, February 13
*12:49 PM – The Brownwood ISD resource officer was called to the 800 block of Rogan, Brownwood Intermediate School, regarding an assault. According to the report, a student had assaulted another student by kicking him in the shin. The complainant stated they wished to pursue criminal charges against the student responsible for the assault. A suspect was named and an investigation is underway.
Friday, February 14
*A Brown County Sheriff’s deputy was dispatched to a residence on South US 183 in reference to a forgery. The complainant advised that a known suspect had forged a check on a closed account belonging to the complainant, according to the report.*Texas Juvenile Justice Department arrested 18-year-old Jacquarion M Betters for assault on a public servant.
*Brownwood Police arrested 31-year-old Jerry Allen Leonard for evading arrest or detention, display fictitious license plate and ran stop sign.
*The Brownwood City Marshal arrested 21-year-old Toni Alexandra Pinson on a warrant for unrestrained animal.
*The Brownwood City Marshal arrested 20-year-old Shalee Rose Riddles on a warrant related to theft of service equal to or greater than $20 less than $500.
*28-year-old Candace Ann McNeal Schwab turned herself in on warrants related to burglary of a habitation, fraudulent use/possession of identifying information.
*Brown County Sheriff’s Office arrested 43-year-old Micheal Cody Sherrod of Sidney on a warrant related to motion to revoke/driving while intoxicated 2nd.
*Brownwood Police arrested 28-year-old Joshua Dewayne Smith of Ennis on warrants related to aggravated assault with deadly weapon and assault causes bodily injury.
*Texas Juvenile Justice Department arrested 17-year-old Olivia S. Toomer on a warrant related to assault public servant.
*Brownwood Police arrested 27-year-old Justin Lynn Weiershausen of Blanket on warrants related to driving while license invalid and failure to appear.
Saturday, February 15
*11:01 a.m. – A Brown County Sheriff’s deputy made a traffic stop for a traffic offense in the 1200 block of US 67/84 in Brownwood. According to the report, while issuing the citation, the deputy noticed an odor of marijuana. The driver 27-year-old Joseph Chance Hyles and passenger Victoria Shai Pope, both of Bangs, were detained while the deputy conducted a probable cause search of the vehicle. Before searching, Hyles surrendered a baggie of marijuana weighing approximately 4 grams including packaging, the report states. Upon searching, the deputy located another baggie of marijuana weighing approximately 3 grams including packaging, and a semiautomatic handgun located inside of the glove box, according to the report. Hyles and Pope were both arrested for unlawful carrying weapons and possession of marijuana (less than 2oz). The vehicle was impounded and photos of evidence were taken, the report states.
*A Brown County Sheriff’s deputy was dispatched to the area of Hemphill and Corrigan Streets, in Brownwood, regarding to animal cruelty. According to the report, an anonymous complainant advised there were several horses at that location with no water. The animals appeared to be in good health, but no food or water was available, the report states. The water trough was filled and contact was made with the owner, the report states.
*A Brown County Sheriff’s deputy conducted a traffic stop in the 800 block of W. Hall Street on a vehicle for having a broken out tail lamp. According to the report, as the deputy explained the violation, the driver, 19-year-old Dylan Thomas Ball of Abilene appeared very nervous, was shaking and not making eye contact with the deputy. After an investigation and a search of the vehicle, the deputy located 3 grams of marijuana, with packaging, in a backpack Ball claimed was his. Ball was subsequently arrest and charged with possession of marijuana.
*Brown County Sheriff’s Office arrested 25-year-old Christopher Dale Blake on warrants related to failure to vaccinate dog and failure to appear.
*Early Police arrested 27-year-old Christine Hawke Quigley for warrants related to no driver’s license and failure to appear.
*Texas Juvenile Justice arrested 17-year-old Myriah Thomas on a warrant related to assault public servant.
Sunday, February 16
*A Brown County Sheriff’s deputy was dispatched to a residence on West US Highway 67 in reference to a burglary. According to the report, an investigation determined that a family member was removing property from the residence. The complainant was spoken to by phone and requested that a criminal trespass warning be issued to the known suspect/relative.
*A Brown County Sheriff’s deputy was traveling west on Commerce when he observed a white male subject, later identified as 26-year-old James Bernard Bergren of North Branch, Minnesota, almost fall into the roadway from the sidewalk. The deputy turned around to make contact with him and observed another male identified as 26-year-old Kyle David Carson of East Jordan, Michigan. Both subjects were determined to be intoxicated and were a danger to themselves and or others by walking down a highly traveled roadway, the report states. Both Bergren and Carson were placed under arrest and charged with public intoxication.
*Texas Department of Public Safety arrested 42-year-old Edy Lopez of Larado for possession of marijuana less than 2 ounces.
*Early Police arrested 27-year-old Jessica Elizabeth Parsons on a warrant related to driving while license invalid.
*Texas Department of Public Safety arrested 43-year-old Tina Maria Wilhelm for driving while intoxicated with child under 15 years of age.
Monday, February 17
*A Brown County Sheriff’s deputy was dispatched early Monday morning to a possible break in of a habitation on Tamarack Drive which involved an assault. According to the report, the deputy made contact with a witness and the victim who advised the deputy that three people had broken into their residence and beat them up. After an investigation, it was determined that the suspects never made it in the house, and the victim allegedly met them in the front yard with a baseball bat, the report states. A fight began and resulted in the victim being punched in the head several times by a named suspect. The suspects ended up leaving prior to the deputy’s arrival; however, he was able to make contact with the suspects around 5 a.m., the report states. The suspects stated they went to the residence to talk to complainant. The incident is pending further investigation, the report states.
*8:12 am – A Brown County Sheriff’s deputy conducted a traffic stop at the Highway 67/84 and FM 1849 intersection in Bangs, TX 76823. According to the report, upon contacting the driver, 35-year-old Yajaira Alejandra Lugo advised the deputy that she did not have a driver’s license. Lugo also failed to provide proof of insurance on the vehicle, the report states. Lugo was arrested for license carried/exhibited on demand 3rd and for driving without financial responsibility.
*9:33 AM – Brownwood Police were dispatched to the 1600 block of Hawkins Street regarding theft of money and property valued at approximately $285 which included a digital camera and a state quarter collection.
*1:51 PM – Brownwood Police were called to the 2200 block of Southside Drive to take possession of unwanted narcotics.
*2:26 PM – A Brown County Sheriff’s deputy was dispatched to a residence on Hwy 84 East in Zephyr. According to the report, the complainant stated that someone had taken property from her storage buildings in the backyard of her residence without her permission. The complainant further stated that her neighbor had seen a female loading items into a white SUV over a period of days, according to the deputy’s report. A possible suspect was named and criminal charges are being pursued, the report states.
*5:37 PM – Brownwood Police were called to the 3500 block of Milam Drive regarding a domestic disturbance. According to the report, a subject at the residence was making threats to harm himself. Officers discovered a small quantity of marijuana in the subject’s possession and subsequently, the subject was arrested and charged with possession of marijuana less than 2 ounces.
* 10:25 PM – A Brown County Sheriff’s deputy took a report from a male complainant at the Brownwood Regional Medical Center emergency room in reference to an assault. According to the report, the complainant stated he was assaulted by a known suspect at a residence on CR 234, in Brownwood. The complainant stated that he was trying to prevent the suspect from driving because the suspect was intoxicated and that the suspect hit him in the face and strangled him, the report states. According to the report, the complainant stated a witness tackled the suspect as he was strangling the complainant. The suspect the left in his vehicle and was later arrested in San Saba, Texas for driving while intoxicated.
*11:09 PM – Brownwood Police were called to the 500 block of E. Commerce regarding an accident. According to the report, the complainant advised that his brother’s vehicle had been struck while parked and unoccupied. There was damage to the driver’s side door and quarter panel as a result of the accident, the report states.
*Brownwood Police arrested 26-year-old Delories Kay Berrey of Blanket for theft of property equal or greater than $20 less than $500.
*The Brownwood City Marshal arrested 48-year-old Pamela Cooley Hillhouse on a parole violation.
*35-year-old Trent Lee Hudspeth of Clyde turned himself in on a warrant related to driving while intoxicated 2nd.
*Brownwood Police arrested 26-year-old Donald Allan McCullough for possession o of marijuana less than 2 ounces.
*Brown County Sheriff’s Office arrested 37-year-old Alvin Ray Spencer, Jr. on a Stephens County warrant related to driving while license invalid.
*The Brownwood City Marshal arrested 27-year-old John Cody Vian on a warrant related to bail jumping and failure to appear.
Tuesday, February 18
*Bangs Police arrested 33-year-old Jeremy Cashwell of Lakewood, Washington for possession of marijuana less than 2 ounces.
*Brownwood Police arrested 21-year-old Fredrick D. Thomas on a warrant related to a parole violation.
