Friday, February 14
*8:54 AM – Brownwood Police were dispatched to the 1100 block of Morris Street regarding the burglary of a vehicle. According to the report, the complainant reported that an unknown person had unlocked their vehicle and taken miscellaneous tools and loose change from inside the vehicle.
*9:57 AM – Brownwood Police were called to the 2300 block of Main Blvd. regarding attempted theft. According to the report, the complainant stated that a house cleaner was attempting to steal several DVDs and consumable goods valued at $100. The complainant had the suspect identified as Celeste Wells detained when police arrived, the report states. Wells was arrested and charged with theft of property equal or greater than $50 less than $500.
*11:11 AM – Brownwood Police were dispatched to the 2700 block of Southside Drive regarding the burglary of a habitation. According to the report, bank checks, an 8 GB memory card, cell phone and the victim’s driver’s license were taken from the residence without the complainant’s consent over a period of several days.
*1:46 PM – Brownwood Police were called to the 2300 block of Austin Avenue regarding disorderly conduct. According to the report, the complainant stated that 21-year-old Donald Eddington had assaulted him. An investigation was completed and resulted in the arrest of Eddington for Assault with Injury.*3:39 PM – Brownwood Police attempted to make a traffic stop in the 1700 block of 3rd Street; however, when the vehicle came to a stop in the parking lot, the driver exited and fled on foot. He was apprehended a short time later and charged with evading arrest/detention, ran stop sign, and display wrong license plate on motor vehicle, the report states.
*4:45 PM – Brownwood Police responded to the 4400 block of Danhil Drive regarding a scam. According to the report, the complainant stated that an unknown individual had gained access to the business’ account and forged numerous checks. The investigation is ongoing, the report states.
Saturday, February 15
*11:06 AM – Brownwood Police were called a residence on Main Blvd regarding theft. According to the report, the complainant stated that two acquaintances of his stole his wallet the night before.
*5:29 PM – Brownwood Police met with a complainant at the law enforcement center regarding the theft of a cell phone. According to the report, the victim stated while she was at her residence, the suspect (her husband that she was separated from) arrived to drop off her children’s property, followed the child into the residence, retrieved a cell phone, and then left the residence soon after.
*6:33 PM – Brownwood Police were dispatched to the 1200 block of Looney Street regarding a hit and run. According to the report, the victim stated that several hours earlier on this date, their vehicle had been struck by an SUV while parked in a parking lot in this location. The victim stated that the suspect vehicle had been located and they had contacted the suspect regarding the accident, the report states. The complainant stated that after initially denying having been involved in the incident, the suspect admitted to striking the victim’s vehicle and leaving the scene without leaving their contact information, the report states.
Sunday, February 16
*10:01 AM – Brownwood Police called to a local nursing home in the 2400 block of Songbird Circle regarding theft. According to the report, the complainant stated that his wallet was missing and when the wallet was later recovered, approximately $110 in cash was missing.
*3:00 PM – Brownwood Police were dispatched to the 3600 block of Surrey Lane regarding an unwanted person. According to the report, the complainant stated that a male subject had exposed himself to her and then poured Kool-Aid on the complainant’s vehicle. The complainant wished to pursue charges; however, the suspect was not able to be located at the time of the report, according to police.
*7:51 PM – Brownwood Police responded to the 1500 block of Market Place Blvd regarding a juvenile who was reported as a runaway by his parents. Officers arrived at the location and the juvenile was detained; however, the juvenile began to evade and was placed under arrest for evading arrest/detention, the report states. The juvenile was taken to the Brown County Juvenile Detention Center, according to police.
*8:48 PM – Brownwood Police were dispatched to the 1400 block of Austin Avenue, Brookshire’s grocery store regarding theft. According to the report, a female subject had been caught shoplifting several items from the store. Store employees attempted to detain the female suspect; however, the suspect bit one employee and was able to flee the scene with a white male in a silver car. The suspect left her purse which contained a capped unused syringe, and she has been identified, the report states.
