Friday, February 6
*9:18 AM – A Brown County Sheriff’s deputy was dispatched to a ranch on County Road 414 regarding theft. According to the report, the complainant advised that items had been stolen from the property and a suspect was named. The complainant advised that several subjects knew where the key to the property was located, including the suspect, according to the report.
Monday, February 9
*11:05 AM – The Brownwood ISD resource officer was called to Brownwood High School regarding a student who was possibly under the influence of some type of substance and was intoxicated. The student was located by the officer in the nurse’s office. According to the report, the juvenile was determined to be in possession of tobacco as well as a knife. The juvenile was issued a citation for minor in possession of tobacco and the knife was released to the father of the juvenile, the report states. The juvenile was placed into the Disciplinary Alternative Education Program (DAEP) for 45 days as school discipline, according to the report.
Tuesday, February 10
*7:54 AM – A Brown County Sheriff’s deputy was called to a property on County Road 360 regarding theft. According to the report, the complainant stated that a relative had stayed the night at her residence. The next morning she heard him walking around and later found a jewelry box which had been moved and several rings were missing from the box, the report states.*8:04 AM – Brownwood Police were called to the 1700 block of Avenue B regarding a domestic disturbance. According to the report, a female complainant stated that her boyfriend had punched her in the throat. An investigation determined that an alleged suspect was a sex offender who had failed to register as a sex offender in Brownwood, the report states. This call led to the arrest of 74-year-old David Earnest Sansom, Jr. of Brownwood.
*7:01 PM – Brownwood Police were called to Walmart regarding theft. A male suspect was unknown and the investigation is continuing, the report states.
*10:44 PM – Brownwood Police were dispatched to the 3200 block of Stephen F. Austin regarding the theft of a dog.
*Brown County Sheriff’s Office arrested 20-year-old Mike Bermea of Brownwood on a warrant related to credit card or debit card abuse.
*Brownwood Police arrested 27-year-old Porfirio Camp, Jr. of Brownwood on a warrant relate to theft of property equal or greater than $1500 less than $20,000.
*48-year-old Christopher Eaton of Comanche turned himself in on a Comanche County warrant related to motion to adjudicate/theft.
*The Brownwood City Marshal arrested 41-year-old Jose Arturo Garcia of Brownwood on a warrant related to assault causes bodily injury.
*Brownwood Police arrested 18-year-old David Blake Havens of Brownwood on a warrant related to manufacture delivery of a controlled substance penalty group 1 less than 1 gram.
*Brown County Sheriff’s Office arrested 52-year-old Steven Trevino Hernandez of Bangs on a parole warrant.
*Brown County Sheriff’s Office arrested 28-year-old Sarah Mehlman of Coleman on a warrant related to possession of a controlled substance.
*Brownwood Police arrested 40-year-old Lucy Ann Ogden of Brownwood on a warrant related to theft of property equal or greater than $500 less than $1500.
*25-year-old Casey Douglas Simpson of May turned his self in on a warrant relate to motion to revoke/burglary of a building.
Wednesday, February 11
*12:34 AM – A Brown County Sheriff’s deputy, while on patrol, noticed a suspicious vehicle parked at the rest stop in the 7400 block of US Hwy 377 South. According to the report, the occupants’ nervous behavior led the deputy to request consent to search the vehicle. The driver gave consent for the search, which led to the discovery of drug paraphernalia inside the vehicle, the report states. A passenger, identified as 20-year-old Steven Frias of Brownwood, claimed possession of the paraphernalia and surrendered a quantity of marijuana which was concealed on his person, according to the deputy’s report. Frias was subsequently arrested for possession of marijuana less than 2 ounces and possession or delivery of drug paraphernalia.
*1:20 AM – Brownwood Police were dispatched to the 1400 block of Coggin Avenue, the WesTGo convenience store, regarding criminal mischief. According to the report, this call led to the discovery of a broken window, a possible suspect and a witness being found on scene.
