Law enforcement arrests and reports released Friday, February 10, 2012.
Wednesday, February 8
*4:50pm-Brownwood Police received a report of improper photography. According to the report, the complainant and a witness stated that a known suspect had taken non-consensual photographs of the complainant under her dress from under the table.
Thursday, February 9
*7:30am-Brownwood Police were called to the 1200 block of Irma Street regarding criminal mischief. According to the report, the complainant stated that overnight someone had broke out a window in her vehicle. While the officer was speaking with the complainant, another person reported that a vehicle down the street also had a broken window. The investigation found three vehicles that had broken windows and that two of the vehicles had been burglarized, the report states.
*3:01pm-Brownwood Police were dispatched to 1600 Calvert Drive, Brownwood Middle School, regarding a juvenile problem. According to the report, BMS administration stated that two male juveniles had been involved in a fight.
*8:10pm-Brownwood Police were called to the 2200 block of Avenue E regarding a domestic disturbance. According to the report, the complainant stated that her son, Morris Lee Abernathy, and her grandson had gotten into a physical altercation. This call led to the arrest of 45-year-old Morris Abernathy for Assault Causing Bodily Injury Family Violence.
*9:53pm-A Brownwood Police narcotics detective was patrolling in the area of an apartment complex located in the north part of Brownwood when he noticed a male, identified as 29-year-old Frank William Brummett, walking in the middle of the road pushing a stackable washer/dryer. According to the report, because this posed a traffic hazard, the detective stopped to investigate the activity. Brummett was recognized as an individual that the detective knew as being involved with narcotics in the past. Reports state that after a brief conversation, the detective gained consent to search Brummett’s clothing for narcotics and a quantity of a controlled substance was located and he was arrested for Possession of a Controlled Substance Penalty Grade 3, less than 28 grams.
*10:16pm-Brownwood Police were called to the 600 block of W. Commerce regarding criminal mischief. According to the report, the complainant reported damage to a Redbox kiosk. No suspect information was available at the time of the report.
*11:11pm-Brownwood Police were called to 2001 Austin Avenue, Coggin Park, regarding the theft of a cell phone valued at $200. Very little suspect information was available at the time of the report, according to the officer’s report.
*Early Police arrested 40-year-old Jorge Alvarado on a Border Patrol Hold.
All arrestees are considered innocent until proven guilty in a court of law.
