Friday, January 29
*8:30 AM – A Brown County Sheriff’s deputy met with a complainant at the Law Enforcement Center in reference to a theft. According to the report, the complainant advised she had been renting a home on County Road 603 to a woman until the woman moved out on 01/21/2016. The complainant stated that when the renter moved out, she took a window air conditioning unit, a space heater, and an antique dresser with mirror from the residence without the complainant’s permission.
*12:56 PM – Brownwood Police made a traffic stop in the area of Baker Street and Fisk Street. According to the report, this stop led to the arrest of the driver, identified as 24-year-old Anthony Curnutt of Brownwood for driving while license invalid with previous conviction/suspension without financial responsibility.
*3:01 PM – Brownwood Police were called to the 1800 block of Belle Plain regarding a subject that was believed to be passed out due to smoking something. According to the report, officers arrived to find 24-year-old Zachery Green of Waxahachie passed out with a homemade smoking pipe in one hand and a lighter in the other. Green was arrested for possession of a controlled substance penalty group 2A less than 2 ounces.*7:22 PM – Brownwood Police were called to the 400 block of W. Commerce regarding criminal trespassing. According to the report, this call led to the arrest of 53-year-old Carol Ann Applegate of Brownwood for criminal trespass. While transporting Applegate to the patrol unit, BPD communications confirmed two outstanding warrants related to unvaccinated dog and failure to appear/theft of property equal or greater than $100 less than $750.
*10:22 PM – Brownwood Police made a traffic stop in the area of Austin Avenue and Fisk Street for a defective tail light. While speaking to the drier, it was discovered he was in possession of an alcoholic beverage in the vehicle, according to the report. The driver was issued a citation for open container.
*Early Police made a traffic stop on a vehicle for a defective tail light in the 900 block of Early Blvd. According to the report, after talking to the driver and running a license check on 23-year-old Justin Michael Florence of Comanche, a warrant from the Parole Board was located. Florence was placed under arrest and a bottle containing several individually wrapped packages of methamphetamine was located, the report states. Florence admitted that he was selling the narcotics, which was consistent with the way they were individually wrapped, the report states. Florence was charged with manufacture delivery of a controlled substance penalty group 1 equal or greater than 1 gram less than 4 grams. Three children were in the vehicle and near the methamphetamine, resulting in the additional charge of abandon endanger child/criminal negligence, according to police. Florence was being held in the Brown County Jail in lieu of bonds totaling $85,000 as of Monday morning.
*The Brownwood City Marshal arrested 31-year-old Christopher Andrew Abney of Brownwood on a warrant related to no driver’s license.
*Brownwood Police arrested 18-year-old Lakdisha Anthony of Brownwood for possession of marijuana greater than 4 ounces less than or equal to 5 pounds. Anthony was released on $15,000 bond.
*Brown County Sheriff’s Office arrested 36-year-old Justin Hayden Brown on a warrant related to a surety withdrawal/possession of a controlled substance.
*Brownwood Police arrested 36-year-old Jessica Marie Garza of Bangs on a Taylor County warrant for theft by check.
*Brown County Sheriff’s Office arrested 36-year-old Thomas Roy Holland of Brownwood on a warrant related to possession of a controlled substance with intent to deliver.
*Brown County Sheriff’s Office arrested 24-year-old Hope Michelle Ogden and 25-year-old Kory Sean Ogden, both of Brownwood, for possession of marijuana equal or greater than 4 ounces less than 5 pounds in a drug free zone.
*Brown County Sheriff’s Office arrested 22-year-old Marcus Alton Phillips of Brownwood for possession of marijuana equal or greater than 4 ounces less than 5 pounds. Phillips was released on $50,000 bond.
Saturday, January 30
*3:49 AM – Brownwood Police were called to the 2000 block of Brady Avenue regarding a domestic disturbance. According to the report, both parties were determined to be aggressors and they were separated. The incident was documented for further investigation, the report states.
*11:57 AM – Brownwood Police received a report of identity theft.
*3:33 PM – A Brownwood Police officer met with a complainant at the law enforcement center regarding the burglary of a vehicle.
*11:50 PM – A Brown County Sheriff’s deputy made a traffic stop on a vehicle at the intersection of Highway 279 and FM 2492. According to the report, the stop led to the arrest of the driver, identified as 36-year-old Albert Leon Dixon of Brownwood, for outstanding arrest warrants. A consent search of his truck led to the discovery of approximately 0.4 grams of methamphetamine without packaging, the report states. Dixon’s girlfriend, 40-year-old Shelley Denise Trowbridge of Brownwood, arrived on scene and eventually gave consent to search her residence on Blarney Drive, where she and Dixon live, according to the report. Further contraband was located at the house resulting in Dixon and Trowbridge being placed under arrest for possession of a controlled substance penalty group 1 < 1 gram, according to the report.
*Early Police Department received a report of a reckless driver in a tow truck, crossing the center stripe and weaving from lane to lane. According to the report, the caller was an off-duty game warden who observed the vehicle until officers could arrive and locate the vehicle. The vehicle was eventually stopped on Cactus Lane in Early and after a field sobriety test was conducted, the driver 47-year-old Kyle James of Early was arrested and placed into custody, the report states. K9 officer Jambo alerted to the vehicle and drug paraphernalia was located, according to the report. James was arrested for driving while intoxicated and the drug paraphernalia is being submitted to the DPS lab for analysis, the report states.
*Brownwood Police arrested 21-year-old Dominick Reshade Eddington of Early on warrants related to driving while license invalid and expired registration.
*Brown County Sheriff’s Office arrested 46-year-old Jessie Ray Walls of Early on a warrant related to unvaccinated dog and violate promise to appear.
Sunday, January 31
*12:47 AM – Brownwood Police were called to the 1900 block of Avenue H regarding a loud noisy party. According to the report, a citation was issued to the renter, identified as 34-year-old Angel Castillo of Brownwood, for the ordinance violation of loud premises. Later in the evening officers were again called for loud premises. The report states that Castillo is a habitual ordinance violator and was arrested for the offense as well as all other actions had been exhausted.
*12:54 AM – A Brownwood Police officer observed a traffic violation at the intersection of Southside Drive and Magnolia Street. As a result of the stop, the driver, identified as 22-year-old Caden Ellis of Houston, was issued a citation for running a red light and was also arrested for driving while intoxicated, according to the report. A male passenger was issued a citation for open container.
*3:21 AM – Brownwood Police were dispatched to the 1800 block of 1st Street regarding the burglary of a habitation. According to the report, jewelry and electronics were among the items stolen from the residence.
*10:24 PM – Brownwood Police observed a vehicle with its headlights on parked in the parking lot of the a body shop in the area of Beaver and W. Commerce Streets, next to the Pepsi Cola building. According to the report, the officer made a stop on the vehicle for suspicious activity which led to 24-year-old Mathew Gonzales of Brownwood being arrested for an outstanding Taylor County warrant for possession of marijuana and on an additional charge of failure to identify as a fugitive.
*Brown County Sheriff’s Office received a report of the theft of a laptop. According to the report, the complainant stated that his girlfriend had stolen the laptop while he was visiting her the day before.
*A Texas Parks and Wildlife game warden arrested 63-year-old Gareth Robert Ganter of Brownwood for driving while intoxicated.
*Brownwood Police arrested 20-year-old Christopher James Jonson of Brownwood on a warrant related to no driver’s license.
*Texas Department of Public Safety arrested 52-year-old Preston Dale Sloss of Abilene for driving while intoxicated.
