Brownwood Police arrested a Lake Brownwood resident after his pickup struck the Underwood’s Cafeteria building, located at 402 W. Commerce, early Tuesday morning.

According to the report, Brownwood Police were called to the scene of an accident at approximately 12:33 AM where a vehicle had struck the corner of the building near the drive-thru window.  The driver, identified as Mark Alan Lyle, had a moderate odor of alcohol on his person and was found to be intoxicated, the report stated.  Lyle was arrested for driving while intoxicated, 1st offense.  The vehicle sustained significant front-end damage; however, only minor damage to the building was reported.

*2:10 PM – Brownwood Police took a report of criminal mischief in the 700 block of Almond Street.  According to the report, the complainant stated that some juvenile boys had shot at her house with a BB pistol.  Upon investigation, it was determined through interviewing witnesses and the suspects, that a dog had been shot as well as a mocking bird, the report states.   Texas Parks and Wildlife and Brownwood Police Department are investigating the incident and charges are pending, according to the report.

*4:19 PM – Brownwood Police were called to the 1500 block of Terrace Drive regarding the burglary of a habitation.  According to the report, the burglary occurred between January 3rd and January 6th and numerous items including jewelry, electronics and medication were taken.  No suspect information was available at the time of the report, and the incident is under investigation, the report states.
