One man was arrested after Brownwood Police were called to the 2000 block of Belmeade around 9:20 PM Sunday night regarding a two-vehicle traffic accident where both vehicles left the scene. According to witnesses on scene, a loud crash was heard and one resident was able to identify the vehicles as a gray Dodge Durango and an older model GMC Jimmy. A pile of debris was located in the roadway which contained several pieces of the Durango, and an officer was able to follow a trail of fluid to a home in the 1900 block of Coggin Avenue where the Durango and its driver were located under a carport, according to the police report. The driver, identified as 24-year-old Thomas Daniel Beck, was found to be intoxicated and was arrested for driving while intoxicated, according to the officer’s report. Beck consented to a blood draw after failing standard field sobriety tests, the report states. The other vehicle that left the scene was not located at the time of the report.

Friday, January 4
*8:53 AM – Brownwood Police received a report of theft at Stripes convenience store, located in the 600 block of W. Commerce regarding theft.
*5:06 PM – Brownwood Police were dispatched to the 2000 block of 13th Street regarding an assault. According to the report, the complainant stated that she was assaulted by her stepdaughter and did not know if she needed medical attention. This call led to the arrest of the complainant’s 15-year-old stepdaughter for assault causes injury family violence.*8:06 PM – Brownwood police were called to the 1500 block of Terrace Drive regarding a robbery. According to the report, the complainant stated that he observed a male subject burglarize his vehicle. When he confronted the subject, he assaulted the complainant and fled the scene, the report states.
*9:57 PM – Brownwood Police were dispatched to the 1500 block of Avenue E regarding the burglary of a habitation. According to the report, the complainant reported that a 32-inch television (valued $250-300) was stolen from the residence sometime between the hours of 1:00 PM on January 3rd and 9:57 PM January 4th. A possible suspect was named and the complainant wishes to pursue criminal charges if the suspect can be identified, the report states.
*11:07 PM – Brownwood Police made a traffic stop in the 300 block of E. Commerce. This stop led to the arrest of the driver, 27-year-old Tamara Dawn Hopkins, of Malone, for driving while intoxicated.
*Brownwood Police arrested 54-year-old Vincent Hugh Monson for Public Intoxication with three prior convictions.
Saturday, January 5
*11:05 AM – Brownwood Police were called to the 1600 block of 6th Street regarding a hit and run. According to the report, sometime between 1:15 AM January 4th and 10:30 AM January 5th, a vehicle was struck while parked in the 1600 block of 6th Street. No suspect information or evidence to identify a suspect was available at the time of the report, according to law enforcement.
*3:06 PM – Brownwood Police responded to the Brownwood Regional Medical Center regarding an animal bite. According to the report, the investigation determined that a small to medium sized dog escaped a fenced yard and bit the 7-year-old male victim on the calf while he was riding his bicycle. The dog’s owner was able to verify the current vaccination record, and the dog was placed into 10-day in-home quarantine, the report states.
*4:37 PM – Brownwood Police were dispatched to the 600 block of Walnut regarding a civil matter. According to the report, the complainant advised that her son-in-law took some furniture from her apartment and sold it without her permission.
Sunday, January 6
*1:21 AM – A Brownwood Police officer observed a vehicle driving recklessly in the 200 block of E. Commerce Street and made a traffic stop. The driver, identified as 24-year-old Tanner Shane McDaniel of Bangs, was found to have an outstanding warrant and intoxicated, according to the report. McDaniel was placed under arrest for the warrant and charged with driving while intoxicated. A blood specimen was taken and McDaniel was transported to the Brown County Jail where it was found that he had a previous conviction for DWI and was currently on probation, therefore he was subsequently charged with DWI 2nd, the report states.
*1:46 AM – Brownwood Police were called to the 1900 block of Belle Plain Street regarding an alarm activation. According to the report, officers arrived to find signs of forcible entry into the building. Items stolen included two 30-packs of beer and damaged was the glass door to the business, the report states.
*4:08 AM – A Brownwood Police officer stopped two subjects in the 2000 block of Waco Street, as part of an investigation into the burglary of a building in the 1900 block of Belle Plain. According to the report, one of the subjects identified as 25-year-old Jerry Douglas Allen, Jr., was found to be intoxicated and stated he had drank eighteen beer in the last four hours. Allen was placed under arrest and charged with public intoxication.
*1:26 PM – Brownwood Police were called to the 1200 block of Vincent Street regarding a domestic disturbance. According to the report, the complainant stated that she had just been assaulted by her mother-in-law and that her husband was very agitated. The other party involved also called to report that they too had been assaulted, the report states. This call led to the arrest of 24-year-old Justin Wayne Maly for assault family violence and resisting arrest and the arrest of 30-year-old Eliza Brittany Maly for assault family violence.
*9:07 PM – Brownwood Police were called to the 2200 block of Avenue B regarding an assault. According to the report, the complainant stated that her ex-husband had assaulted her earlier in the day, while drunk. When he left her residence, she also left and upon her return found that someone had entered her home and stole food from the refrigerator and three of her prescription medications, the report states. Photos of the complainant’s injuries were taken and forwarded to the district attorney, the report states.
*9:32 PM – Brownwood Police were dispatched to the 3800 block of Countryside Drive regarding harassment. According to the report, the complainant stated that her ex-boyfriend has called and sent her numerous text messages and texts after she has told him to stop. She also stated that she felt as though he is following her and watching her residence. A report of harassment and stalking has been filed, the report states.
*Brown County Sheriff’s Office arrested 28-year-old Ivan Gomez Rivera of Arlington for possession of marijuana less than 2 ounces.
