Friday, January 2

*7:32 AM – Brownwood Police were dispatched to the 1400 block of Avenue A regarding criminal mischief.  According to the report, the complainant’s vehicle had been damaged by a BB gun.  An investigation is ongoing, the report states.

*11:23 AM – Brownwood Police responded to the 4400 block of Redbird Street regarding a domestic disturbance.  According to the report, the disturbance was between a father-in-law and son-in-law and had moved to the 4400 block of US Hwy 377 South prior to officer’s arrival.

*12:55 PM – Brownwood Police were dispatched to the 1900 block of Avenue B regarding the burglary of a habitation.  According to the report, a locked outbuilding was broken into and tools stolen from inside of the building.  An investigation is ongoing, the report states.

*1:25 PM – Brownwood Police were called to the 3200 block of Milam Drive regarding the burglary of a building.  According to the report, an unknown subject broke into a concession stand area as well as the press box at Gordon Wood Stadium.  Employees of Brownwood ISD were unsure if anything was missing at the time of the report, according to police.

*5:27 PM – Brownwood Police were dispatched to the 2900 block of Hemphill Street regarding theft.  According to the report, a radio was stolen from the residence and an investigation is pending.

*Brown County Sheriff’s Office arrested 24-year-old Gary Daniel Hollis of Rising Star for possession of a controlled substance penalty group 1 equal or greater than 1 gram less than 4 grams and driving while license invalid.  Hollis was being held in the Brown County Jail in lieu of bonds totaling $11,000 as of Monday morning.

*Early Police arrested 26-year-old Ronald Towers of Stephenville for driving while license invalid.

Saturday, January 3

*5:51 AM – A Brown County Sheriff’s deputy was dispatched to the Brown County Jail in reference to an assault, which had already occurred between jail staff and an inmate, identified as 34-year-old Jason Lynn Sliger of Brownwood.  After reviewing the video surveillance of the incident, along with witness statements, Sliger was arrested and charged with 3 counts of Assault on a Public Servant.  Sliger was being held in lieu bonds totaling $60,000 as of Monday morning.

*10:12 AM – Brownwood Police were called to the 3400 block of Durham Avenue regarding an assault.  According to the report, a female subject stated that she had been assaulted by her son, who was no longer on scene.  The female claimed bodily injury and wished to pursue charges, the report states.

*12:24 PM – A Brown County Sheriff’s deputy was dispatched to the 9200 block of US 377 South in reference to an unwanted person.  According to the report, the property owner advised that he wanted a criminal trespass warning issued to a known subject.  The subject was issued the trespass warning and left the property, the report states.

*3:12 PM – Brownwood Police were dispatched to the 1600 block of Avenue I regarding the burglary of a habitation.  According to the report, the residence had been forcibly entered and items were moved around and damaged.

*8:59 PM – Brownwood Police were called to the 1300 block of Austin Avenue regarding a hit and run accident.

*Brown County Sheriff’s Office arrested 45-year-old Kenneth James Hackett of Electra, Texas on warrants related to a surety withdrawal/possession of a controlled substance penalty group 1 (Wichita County), criminal nonsupport (Wichita County) and failure to appear/possession of a controlled substance penalty group 1 less than 1 gram (Montague County).  Hackett was being held in the Brown County Jail in lieu of bonds totaling $139,000 as of Monday morning.

Sunday, January 4

12:03 AM – Brownwood Police were dispatched to the 2300 block of Dartmore Street regarding harassment.  According to the report, the complainant stated that a former resident of the home had been harassing his family by knocking on the doors and windows at all times of the night.  The complainant stated that his younger brother had been friends with the suspect and had left his circle of friends due to learning that the suspect is a drug user and sex offender, the report states.  The complainant’s brother had also moved from the residence to get away from the harassment by the suspect.  Five calls for service have been made to the Brownwood Police Department regarding someone knocking on the doors and windows of the home five times since January 1, 2015 according to police, however, they do not name a suspect.

*11:18 AM – Brownwood Police received a report of a semi truck, which appeared to be an oilfield truck, driving recklessly inbound to Brownwood.  According to the report, the caller followed the semi truck to Allsup’s convenience store at 3480 South Hwy 377 and an officer located the semi truck which then left the scene and went to Food Plaza, 2800 South Hwy 377.  The officer made contact with the driver, identified as 40-year-old Michael Hill of May.  This call led to the arrest of Hill for possession of marijuana less than 2 ounces, the report states.

*2:04 PM – Brownwood Police were dispatched to the 1600 block of Brady Avenue regarding the burglary of a habitation.  According to the report, the complainant stated that his 40-inch flat screen television was stolen from his residence sometime during the last two weeks.  The complainant wished to pursue criminal charges if a suspect can be identified, the report states.

*4:26 PM – Brownwood Police responded to the 300 block of Center Avenue regarding a domestic dispute.  According to the report, an assault had occurred and a suspect was identified.  The victim was slightly injured, the report states.

*9:48 PM – Brownwood Police were called to Walmart regarding theft.

*Brownwood Police arrested 42-year-old Joseph Nicholas Castaneda, Jr. of Brownwood on a warrant related to no driver’s license.

*Brown County Sheriff’s Office arrested 42-year-old Erick Norman Davis of Brownwood and Kimberly Luann Davis of Brownwood each on charges of possession of marijuana less than 2 ounces.

*Early Police arrested 25-year-old Tyler Lawrence Greenhaw of Brownwood for possession of marijuana less than 2 ounces and possession of paraphernalia.

*Brownwood Police arrested 21-year-old Brittany Michaela Richardson of Brownwood for driving while intoxicated and driving while license invalid with previous conviction.

Monday, January 5

*Brown County Sheriff’s Office arrested 27-year-old David Cody Garza of Brady on warrants related to failure to appear and following too close.
