Law Enforcement arrests and reports released Monday, January 31, 2011.
Monday, January 24
*7:12pm-Brownwood police were dispatched to a hit and run at the intersection of Cordell and Bluffview. According to the report, the complainant provided the license plate of the suspect vehicle which was later found at a local grocery store. The victim stated that they did wish to pursue charges and an investigation is ongoing the report states.
Tuesday, January 23
*4:17pm-Brownwood police responded to the 1400 block of Coggin Avenue regarding a case of identity theft. According to police reports, the complainant stated that an unknown person had used all of his personal information to open a prepaid credit card in the complainant’s name. The credit card issuing company contacted the complainant when someone attempted to get money off of the card. At the time of the report, no suspect information was available.
Tuesday, January 25
*Brownwood police were called to the 200 block of W. Commerce regarding forged checks. According to the report, the checks were seized as evidence and limited suspect information was available. The incident is under investigation.
Friday, January 28
*8:30am – An officer with the Early Police Department responded to the Early Middle school regarding an accident that occurred Friday morning on the school property.
Early Police Chief David Mercer said that a 44-year-old female had just let off her child for school when she lost control of the vehicle and struck a parked vehicle in the parking area. The driver was transported to the Brownwood Regional Medical Center where she was treated and released later that day.
Officers with the Early Police Department are investigating the cause of the accident. A blood test was taken and will be sent to the Texas Department of Public Safety Lab for analysis. The results of which are expected within 4-5 days.
Mercer said, “We do suspect she was under influence of something”.
*12:38pm-Brownwood police were called to the 4400 block of Redbird regarding a burglary of a habitation. According to the report, the complainant stated that three rifles were stolen when his residence was burglarized. The value of the firearms was stated to be over $2000.
*3:01pm- Brownwood Police responded to 401 W. Commerce regarding a theft that had occurred. According to the report, a Fred Bear Bow and several other items that were located in the bow case were stolen from the bed of a vehicle. A suspect vehicle is a gold Ford Ranger step side truck which was observed in the surveillance video the report states. Investigation of the burglary of a vehicle ongoing.
*5:11pm-Brownwood police were called to the 1600 block of Avenue C regarding identity theft.
*8:25pm-Brownwood police responded to the 300 block of Center regarding trespassing. The suspect, later identified as Nathaniel Lamonte Webb, was located and arrested for Criminal Trespass and four outstanding warrants.
*Brownwood Police arrested Tony 41-year-old Dale Benson for Possession of a Controlled Substance Penalty Grade 1 <1g and Possession of Marijuana <2oz.
*Texas Department of Safety arrested 30-year-old Michael Paul Davila of Midland for Driving While Intoxicated.
Saturday, January 29
*8:33am-Brownwood Police were dispatched to 204 E. Commerce, McDonald’s, regarding criminal mischief. According to the report, the complainant stated that her daughter had opened the car door and struck another vehicle. The complainant further stated that her husband had rubbed the paint off the other car; however the owner of that vehicle got out and kicked her car, leaving an 18 inch by 12 inch dent and then left the scene. The complainant provided the license plate number and did wish to pursue charges against the suspect. Dispatch ran the license plate and found that the subject vehicle was registered to a male who lives in Abilene. Abilene Police confirmed that the subject who owns the vehicle has a current address in Abilene. The incident is currently under investigation.
*7:29pm-Brownwood police responded to the 300 block of Center regarding criminal mischief. The complainant stated that an interior door to the building had been damaged between 4:45pm Friday and 7:00pm Saturday the report states. No suspect information was known at the time.
*Brown County Sheriff’s Office arrested 18-year-old Eduardo Gabriel Palacios for Driving While License Invalid.
Sunday, January 30
*6:48pm-Brownwood Police were dispatched to Uncle Dave’s Roadhouse regarding a theft. A suspect was identified and an investigation of burglary of a vehicle is ongoing.
*3:19pm-Brownwood Police were called to the 4200 block of south US 377 regarding theft. The call led to a subject being issued a citation for theft less than $50.
*4:45pm-Brownwood Police were called regarding a traffic hazard at 206 W. Austin, 7-11 convenience store. Communications advised that a male was observed walking in the roadway and appeared to be very intoxicated. According to the report, a male, identified as 41-year-old Bobby Vonzell Tillman, was located at the store by officers who determined him to be extremely intoxicated. Tillman was arrested for Public Intoxication.
*5:56pm-Brownwood Police were called to 401 W. Commerce, Wal-Mart, regarding a shoplifter. The suspect was issued a citation for theft and released.
*8:36pm-Brownwood Police responded to the 1000 block of Fisk at a Howard Payne University parking lot. According to the report, security had found a vehicle that had been vandalized. Contact with the owner could not be made at the time of the report.
*Brownwood Police arrested 46-year-old Terry Len Beason for Public Intoxication.
All arrestees are innocent until proven guilty in a court of law.
