Thursday, January 2

*12:23 PM – Brownwood Police were dispatched to the 800 block of W. Commerce regarding a man with a gun.  According to the report, the caller stated that he was told by another subject that there was an older man outside the store with a handgun.   Investigation showed that there had been a dispute between roommates who had driven to Brownwood from Santa Anna, according to police.  The gun had been displayed during the dispute, the report states.  An investigation is ongoing according to police.

*1:35 PM – Brownwood Police were called to the 1500 block of Indian Creek Drive regarding a theft.  According to the report, $190.00 was stolen from the residence and several possible suspects have been named.

*4:59 PM – Brownwood Police received a report of a hit and run accident which occurred in the 1400 block of Austin Avenue, the Family Dollar store.  According to the report, the complainant stated that her vehicle had been struck by a larger light color car driven by an unknown white female who fled the scene of the crash.  The left rear quarter panel of the vehicle was damaged, the report states.

*Brownwood Police arrested 22-year-old Mandy Mae Barker of DeLeon on warrants related to two counts of criminal trespass.

*Brownwood Police arrested 36-year-old Jason Lewis Brewer for driving while intoxicated.

*Brown County Sheriff’s Office arrested 35-year-old Wayne Lee Manchester of Early on a warrant for failure to appear/driving while intoxicated with child passenger.

*38-year-old Heidi Valley of Coleman turned herself in on a warrant for failure to appear/driving while license invalid with previous conviction.

Friday, January 3

*2:11 AM – Brownwood Police were called to Wal-Mart regarding a reckless driver.  According to the report, the call led to the arrest of the driver, identified as 24-year-old Chelsea Raylene Mayes of Zephyr, for driving while intoxicated with an open container.

*1:48 PM – Brown County Sheriff’s Office responded to a residence on W. Main Blvd after a female called regarding an unwanted person.  According to the report, a male she knew had come to her house to bring her some Dr. Pepper but would not leave.   The female caller reported that the male, identified as 38-year-old David Tucknott, had allegedly been “drinking and smoking weed” (marijuana).  Before officers arrived, the female reported that Tucknott picked up a piece of shaped wood (which belonged to the caller), similar to a 2 x 4 and about 24.5 inches long and swung it at her.  She stated that she was able to defend herself by swinging a knife, which resulted in Tucknott suffering a small cut to his right thumb, the report states.  Officers arrived to find Tucknott was intoxicated, the report states.  He refused treatment by Guardian EMS and was arrested and charged with aggravated assault with a deadly weapon.  According to the report, the arresting deputy reported that Tucknott has been the subject of two previous assaults against the female in 2013.
