Law enforcement arrests and reports released January 3, 2012.
Friday, December 30
*7:29am-Brownwood Police were dispatched to the 800 block of Bailey Street regarding criminal trespass. According to the report, investigation showed that an unknown person broke into the residence which is vacant; however, nothing was stolen. There were no suspects at the time of the report.
*9:08am-Brownwood Police met a complainant at the Law Enforcement Center. According to the report, the complainant stated he lost his United States passport while living in the U.S.
*10:12am-Brownwood Police responded to the 300 block of Bluffview, the Brownwood Apartments, regarding an unwanted person. The unwanted male, identified as 24-year-old Michael Anthony Elleby, was found to have seven active warrants from Early for his arrest, police reports state. An Early Police officer came to the jail and served the warrants. Elleby was also issued a criminal trespass warning to the complex at the request of the manager.
*2:43pm-Brownwood Police received a report of an assault that had occurred in the area of Brownwood intermediate School on Rogan. According to the report, the victim was a 15-year-old male who stated he had been assaulted by another boy while he was walking home. The victim had some redness to his chest but no other injuries were noted, the report states. A description of the suspect was given; however, at the time of the report, the suspect’s identity remained unknown.
*3:22pm-Brownwood Police were dispatched to the 2600 block of Southside regarding theft. According to the report, the complainant advised that the tenants moved out of the residence and stole a stove, refrigerator and ceiling fans. There was also damage to the inside and outside of the residence, the report states.
*3:31pm-Brownwood Police were dispatched to the 1100 block of Schroeder Lane in reference to criminal mischief. According to the report, the complainant’s vehicle was vandalized. No charges are being pursued and a suspect has been listed, the report states.
*3:46pm-Brownwood Police were called to the 3600 block of Austin Avenue regarding a domestic disturbance. According to the report, two male subjects were involved and one sustained minor injuries. After an investigation, 26-year-old Brandon Shane McCarthy was arrested for Assault Family Violence.
*6:46pm- A Brownwood Police officer was traveling north on Bluffview approaching the intersection of W. Commerce and Bluffview when he noticed a pickup truck which appeared to be disabled facing west in the turn lane. The officer activated his overhead lights to warn other motorists of the traffic hazard. As the officer exited his patrol vehicle, the driver of the pickup exited his truck along with an 18oz beer which rolled across the pavement, the report states. The driver, 41-year-old Danny Ray Peel was arrested for Driving While Intoxicated, 2nd.
*8:24pm-Brownwood Police were called to the 4400 block of US Hwy 377S, Gate 1 Motor Inn, regarding the burglary of a habitation. According to the report, a room was broken into at the above location and a Playstation 3, two Playstation games, as well as a laptop computer were taken. The serial number was provided for the Playstation and it was entered into the NCIC database as stolen.
*Texas Department of Public Safety arrested 46-year-old Felix R. Barboza for Driving While License Invalid Without Financial Responsibility.
*Early Police arrested 39-year-old Tracy Harms Bolton for Driving While Intoxicated.
*Brown County Sheriff’s Office arrested 32-year-old Christiana Janice Gunn of Austin for Possession of Marijuana less than 2 oz.
* Texas Department of Public Safety arrested 32-year-old Jim Ed Liner for Driving While Intoxicated 2nd.
* Texas Department of Public Safety arrested 24-year-old Ashley Pruitt of May for Driving While Intoxicated.
Saturday, December 31
*12:24am-A Brownwood Police officer was on patrol in the area of Coggin and Durham Avenues when he observed a vehicle in the intersection which made an improper right hand turn onto Coggin Avenue. The driver, identified as 65-year-old Archie Carl Hamilton, Jr., was found to be intoxicated and was subsequently arrested for Driving While Intoxicated, police reports state.
*12:36am-The Brownwood City Marshal was on patrol as part of the enhanced DWI enforcement team when he drove through the parking lot of the Silver Fox Lounge in the 500 block of E. Commerce. According to the report, several males scattered as he stopped his car. A small car with two females also left the area at that time. The two remaining males appeared to have been involved in a fight and appeared to be intoxicated, the report states. The males, identified as 20-year-old Cody Wilburn Lynn Case of Haslet and 21-year-old Shelby Patrick Cannon of Richardson, initially claimed to have been drinking in their room; however, later admitted that they were drinking inside the club, the report states. A witness from inside the club identified that both had been inside the club drinking and that Case had a fake ID, the report states. Case was arrested for Public Intoxication by Minor and Cannon was arrested for Public Intoxication.
*2:30am-A Brownwood Police officer was patrolling in the 1100 block of Durham Avenue when he observed a vehicle parked on the side of the street and noticed the driver’s door was open approximately 8-10 inches. According to the report, the officer drove beside the vehicle and noticed a person’s head lying against the door. The officer parked behind the vehicle and then walked up and shut the door which woke the woman, the report states. The woman, later identified as 35-year-old Pearl Evonne Rendon, began exiting the vehicle, was very unsteady and began stating, “I wasn’t driving, I wasn’t driving, I don’t want to drive,” the police report states. Rendon was arrested for Public Intoxication.
*9:34pm-Brownwood Police responded to the report of a citizens’ dispute involving approximately seven people fighting in the 500 block of Main Street. Investigation determined that 35-year-old Julio Victor Torro struck his girlfriend in the face, the report states. Torro was arrested for Assault with Injury Family Violence.
*12:09pm-Brownwood Police were called to the 300 block of Bluffview Drive regarding a hit and run accident. According to the report, the complainant stated that an unknown vehicle struck her 2002 Honda Civic and then left the scene.
*6:29pm-Brownwood Police were dispatched to the 400 block of Whaley Street regarding a domestic disturbance. According to the report, a female had called stating that a male, identified as 44-year-old Ronnie Patterson of Early, was intoxicated and that he choked her. After an investigation, Patterson was arrested for Assault Family Violence by Strangulation.
*Brown County Sheriff’s Office arrested 32-y-ear-old Richard Tyra Kasey of Austin for Possession of Marijuana less than 2 oz.
*Brown County Sheriff’s Office arrested 24-year-old Justin Wade Kelly of Cross Plains for Driving While Intoxicated, 1st.
*Texas Department of Public Safety arrested 25-year-old Sarah Mehlman for Possession of a Controlled Substance Penalty Grade 1 less than 1g.
Sunday, January 1
*12:36am-A Brownwood Police officer observed a white male step up onto the sidewalk of the 7-11 and lose his balance nearly falling to the ground, the police report states. According to the report, the officer continued to watch the man who showed obvious signs he was intoxicated. The man, identified as 58-year-old Richard Leon Hathcock, Sr. was arrested for Public Intoxication and Resisting Arrest.
*2:02am-Brownwood Police were called to the 500 block of Main Street regarding a domestic disturbance. According to the report, the victim had several injuries to her facial area. The suspect, 43-year-old Kevin Royce Peek, was arrested for Assault with Injury Family Violence.
*2:47am-Brownwood Police were dispatched to the 2500 block of Belmeade regarding a male wearing a black hoodie who was hiding in the backyard of the caller’s residence. This call led to the arrest of 37-year-old Ashley Ross Wills for Public Intoxication.
*3:09am-A Brownwood Police officer made a traffic stop in the 1000 block of Magnolia. Investigation determined the driver, 30-year-old Fabian Davalos Campos, to be intoxicated, the report states. Campos was arrested for Driving While Intoxicated and transported to Brownwood Regional Medical Center for a blood sample.
*3:28am-Brownwood Police responded to the 1300 block of 13th Street regarding an assault. According to the report, a woman and her boyfriend had been arguing over a cell phone and calls that the woman had made to a male sick friend. The suspect hit the woman in the face causing her eye to bruise and swell, the report states. The woman reported that she got a package of frozen meat out of the freezer and was going to open it with a knife; however, when she saw an opportunity to run out the door to her brother’s house which is across the street, she ran out the door with the knife in hand. As she reached the door she threw down the knife and saw the suspect run toward it, the report states. The suspect could not be located at the time of the report.
*2:43pm-A Brownwood Police officer was dispatched to the 1500 block of 3rd Street regarding criminal mischief. According to the report, the complainant stated that someone shot the rear window of his pickup.
*9:40pm-Brownwood Police were called to the 2000 block of 10th Street regarding criminal mischief. According to the report, the complainant stated that unknown subject(s) damaged the front windshield of his vehicle. No suspects could be determined at the time of the report.
*Brown County Sheriff’s Office arrested 56-year-old Walter Thompkins of Bangs for Driving While Intoxicated with Child Passenger.
*Brownwood Police arrested Richard Uballe of Coleman for Driving While License Invalid and Driving While Intoxicated.
*Texas Department of Public Safety arrested 38-year-old James Daniel Wilhelm of Early for Driving While Intoxicated.
Monday, January 2
*9:55pm-Brownwood Police were called to the 1200 block of Phillips Drive regarding found property. According to the report, a large blue suitcase had been found next to Skillet’s Restaurant , in the 500 block of E. Commerce Street. The luggage did have an address on the airport tag and an attempt was made to contact the owner which was unsuccessful.
*8:00pm-An Early Police officer stopped a vehicle for speeding. The driver, identified as 30-year-old Michael Tribble of Austin appeared to be very nervous, according to the officer. Upon asking some further questions, Tribble surrendered a marijuana pipe from his pocket and after some questioning by the officer, Tribble surrendered 2 large bags of marijuana, reported Early Chief of Police David Mercer. Several glass pipes and lighters along with 8 guns were located in the vehicle, Mercer reported. Tribble was arrested for Possession of Marijuana greater than 2 oz and his wife along with their 3 young children were released from the scene. The investigation is continuing.
*Brown County Sheriff’s Office arrested 36-year-old Jeffry Turner of Early for Assault Causing Bodily Injury Family Violence.
All arrestees are considered innocent until proven guilty in a court of law.
