SlaughterCaliscaThe Brown County Sheriff’s Office Tactical Team executed two search warrants at different locations in Brownwood early Friday morning.  The BCSO was assisted by the Brownwood Police Department and the Texas Department of Public Safety Special Crimes Investigator Roy Parrack.

The first search warrant was executed at an apartment in the Driftwood Apartment complex located on Main Street in Brownwood.  This warrant was the result of an investigation conducted by Carlisle Gover.  Sheriff officials said that a search of the residence was conducted and marijuana and items associated with the use of marijuana were located.  Officials also said that the investigation revealed that illegal substances were being sold from this apartment on a regular basis.

Arrested at the location was 19-year-old Calisca Monea Slaughter (pictured left).  She was arrested for Possession of Marijuana.

“This investigation is not concluded by this arrest and will continue,” stated Sheriff Bobby Grubbs.  “It is expected to lead to other arrests of those aiding and involved in the distribution of illegal substances.”

BensonTonyDaleThe second warrant was executed in the 1600 block of Avenue J at 7:45am Friday morning.  This search warrant was the result of an investigation of a Brownwood police officer.  Officials said that this investigation looked into the use and distribution of methamphetamine from this location.  The BCSO executed the warrant, making entry into the residence and securing the location and its occupants.  Once the location was secured, the crime scene was turned over to the Brownwood Police Department who conducted the search for evidence for their investigation.  Inside the residence, officers discovered a quantity of methamphetamine and marijuana officials said.  An occupant of the residence, a male identified as 41-year-old Tony Dale Benson (pictured left), was arrested and charged with possession of a controlled substance and possession of marijuana.

“The Brown County Sheriff’s Office will continue their aggressive enforcement of narcotics related offenses.  Using the cooperative attitude between agencies unifies our efforts, and pools our resources,” stated Sheriff Grubbs.  “By doing so, the law enforcement agencies of Brown County area able to continue to address drug abuse in our communities head on.”

Saturday, January 22

*10:35pm-Brownwood Police responded to the 800 block of Penn regarding an assault.  According to police, a domestic disturbance over a woman involving two men resulted in one of the males exiting the residence, retrieving a machete from his vehicle, and telling the other male not to come near him police reports state.  A report of Aggravated Assault with a Deadly Weapon was made.  The suspect left the scene prior to police arrival.  No arrest had been made at the time of the incident.

Monday, January 24

*3:22pm-A Brown County Sheriff’s deputy was dispatched to the Shamrock Shores area regarding 4 trash bags which had been dumped on the side of the road illegally.  A suspect was located and a citation for illegal dumping was issued.

Wednesday, January 26

*4:21pm-Brownwood Police were called to the 1100 block of Clements where an assault on an employee had occurred.  Officers spoke with the victim and two witnesses.  According to police, a suspect has been identified; however, no arrest had been made at the time of the report.

*5:51pm-A BPD officer was dispatched to the 600 block of North Fisk Avenue regarding the report of a possible identity theft. According to the report, the complainants advised that their Medicaid Cards were taken by a male subject after taking a home visit hearing test.

Thursday, January 27

*6:21am-Brownwood Police were called to the 2500 block of Vine Street regarding a burglary.  According to the report, the complainant stated that a known suspect had broken into her travel trailer and stolen some personal clothes were taken.  Although the suspect is known, the complainant does not wish to pursue criminal charges; however, made a request that a criminal trespass warning be issued to the suspect the report states.

*6:07pm-Brownwood Police responded to 1400 Austin Avenue, Brookshire’s, regarding theft.  Management stated that a store employee caught a juvenile attempting to steal a 3-pack of mini Bic lighters.  Investigation led to information that the juvenile was reported to be a runaway.  Info was obtained and a report for Criminal Trespass and Possession of Tobacco by a Minor was generated.

*A complainant stated that she allowed a known suspect to remove a junk car from her property in Blanket two weeks ago.  According to the report, the suspect allegedly stated that he would sell the car as scrap metal and bring the complainant the money at a later date.  At the time of the report, the complainant had not received anything from the suspect.

*Brown County Sheriff’s Office arrested 29-year-old Thomas Dwayne Brummett for Public Intoxication.

*Texas Department of Public Safety arrested 42-year-old Michael Edward Cooper of Comanche for Driving While License Invalid with Previous Convictions.

* Texas Department of Public Safety arrested 21-year-old Kali Lauren Lord of San Angelo for Driving While License Suspended.

All arrestees are innocent until proven guilty in a court of law.
