Monday, December 6
*6:59am-Brownwood Police responded to the 2000 block of Main Blvd. in reference to a hit and run accident. According to the report, the complainant and a witness spoke to an officer and investigation led to the arrest of Jacob Paul Keith for the offense of Failure to Comply with Requirements of Striking an Unattended Vehicle.
*2:59pm-Brownwood Police were dispatched to the 2000 block of US Hwy 377S, Dollar General in reference to a theft. According to the report, the officer met with an employee who identified a known suspect that was caught shoplifting inside the store. The suspect was issued a citation for theft and a criminal trespass warning, then released at the scene.Tuesday, December 7
*1:47pm-A Brownwood Police officer met with a complainant at the Law Enforcement Center who reported her son’s bicycle was stolen from under the carport at her residence. The family left on Thanksgiving Day and when they returned, discovered the bicycle missing the report states.
*10:00pm-Brownwood Police reports indicate that an officer met with a complainant on the campus of Howard Payne University regarding a hit and run incident that had occurred between the hours of 5:30-9:45pm while the complainant’s car was parked at the Wal-Mart parking lot. Damage was to the right front portion of the vehicle and estimated to be approximately $300 the report states.
*Brownwood Police responded to a possible overdose at a local mobile home park. According to police reports after investigating in the incident a warrant is being sought for a female subject for Possession of a Controlled Substance.
*Early Police Department arrested 17-year-old David Michael Smithson, Jr. for Assault by Threat.
All arrestees are innocent until proven guilty in a court of law.
