Monday, January 25

*11:06 AM – Brownwood Police were called to the 600 block of Avenue G regarding assault family violence with injury.  According to the report, a female victim suffered an injury to her elbow after being pushed by her roommate.  An investigation is ongoing, the report states.

*4:47 PM – A Brown County Sheriff’s deputy was dispatched to Waterford Drive in Brownwood regarding a weapon offense.  According to the report, the victim/complainant stated that a friend had pulled a pistol and threaten to kill him after a verbal argument.

Tuesday, January 26

*4:42 PM – Brownwood Police were called to the 400 block of W. Commerce regarding theft.  According to the report, a citation for theft of property less than $100 was issued to a male subject.

*5:11 PM – A Brown County Sheriff’s deputy arrived at Blackwell Water Crossing, approximately the 10,000 block of CR 108 in Brownwood, regarding a burnt vehicle.

*The Brownwood City Marshal arrested 22-year-old Xavier Marcess Jamison of Brownwood on warrants related to failure to appear and two counts of theft.

*Brown County Sheriff’s Office arrested 39-year-old Chance Don Schaefer of Cisco, Texas on a warrant related to motion to revoke/delivery of a controlled substance penalty group 3/4 less than 28 grams in a drug free zone.

Wednesday, January 27

*1:02 AM – Brownwood Police were dispatched to the 3600 block of Durham Avenue regarding shots fired in the area.  According to the report, a resident in this area heard four gunshots and stepped outside his home to see what was happening and found a male subject, who was covered in blood and had obviously been assaulted, lying in his front yard.  The resident took the male into his home.  The male stated that he had been drinking with another male, identified as 23-year-old Tyler Benjamin Edwards of Brownwood, at a home in the 3800 block of Austin Avenue, the report states.  The victim stated that the two males had gotten into a fight and allegedly, Edwards began assaulting the victim with a metal folding chair multiple times on his back and head, the report states.   The victim stated that when Edwards went to retrieve a gun, he went out the back door of the home and heard shots being fired from inside the home, according to the report.  The victim continued running north on Durham Avenue, the report states.  The victim refused to be transported to the hospital by ambulance and was taken to his home, where his mother then took him by privately owned vehicle to the hospital for evaluation and treatment of his injuries, the report states.  The victim’s injuries were consistent with his account of the assault, according to police.   Edward’s vehicle was located a short time later, traveling in the 3000 block of 4th Street.  The vehicle, being driven by Edwards, pulled into the parking lot of a retirement home, and he attempted to enter the building, the report states.  Edwards was detained and a search of his truck located a Ruger handgun with an empty magazine chamber, the report states.  Edwards was found to be intoxicated and was arrested for aggravated assault with a deadly weapon/family or household member, unlawful possession of a firearm and driving while intoxicated 2nd.

*A Brown County Sheriff’s deputy was dispatched to a residence on Wagon Trail in May, Texas, where a 17-year-old male was intoxicated against his mother’s will and was on the neighbor’s property trying to take a vehicle to run away, according to the deputy’s report.  While trying to investigate and detain the male, identified as Anthony Daniel Stephens of May, he tried to get away and run, the report states.  Stephens was arrested and charged with resisting arrest, search or transport and consumption of alcohol by minor.

*Texas Department of Public Safety arrested 47-year-old Charles Lee Brown, Jr. of Brownwood for possession of a controlled substance penalty group 1 equal or greater than 1 gram less than 4 grams.
