Law enforcement reports and arrests released December 7, 2011.

Monday, December 5

*10:22am-Brownwood Police were dispatched to the 2500 block of W. Main Blvd. regarding forgery.  According to the report, the complainant stated that $1275 had been withdrawn from his savings account without his permission.  Copies of bank transaction slips were provided, the report states.  If a suspect can be identified, the complainant does which to pursue charges, according to the report.

*2:00pm-Brownwood Police were called to the 900 block of Fisk Avenue regarding a hit and run.  According to the report, the complainant was able to provide a license plate number on the suspect vehicle.  The complainant did not think that the suspect knew he had struck the complainant’s vehicle and the complainant did not wish to pursue criminal charges, the report states.  The investigation is ongoing.

*4:15pm-Brownwood Police were dispatched to the 1800 block of 3rd Street regarding the burglary of a vehicle.  According to the report, the complainant stated that he had left his pickup parked at Uncle Dave’s Bar and Grill and two rifles were stolen out of the back seat of the vehicle.  The investigation is ongoing.

*4:36pm-Brownwood Police responded to a theft in the 3800 block of Austin Avenue.  According to the report, the complainant stated that a relative had stolen a window air conditioning unit. 

*7:16pm-Brownwood Police met a complainant at the Law Enforcement Center regarding the burglary of a vehicle.  According to the report, the incident occurred on December 4th, sometime between 6:00pm and 8:00pm at the new Beginnings Church, which is located at 1001 Belle Plain.  The complainant did wish to pursue charges for the burglary.

*8:02pm-A Brownwood Police officer noticed a male walking on the wrong side of the road in the 1100 block of 9th Street.  A pedestrian stop was made and the male was identified as 26-year-old Daniel Joseph Hedgecock.  This stop led to Hedgecock’s arrest for Possession of a Dangerous Drug.

*8:02pm-Brownwood Police met with a complainant at the Law Enforcement Center regarding theft.  According to the report, the complainant owns a rent house in the 2500 block of Belmeade and made an agreement with the tenant to rebuild the porch of the residence in exchange for a lower rent.  The complainant had bought $600 worth of lumber and placed it under the porch.  According to the report, since the deal was made, the tenant had been served an eviction notice.  On December 5th, the complaint went by the residence and found the lumber is missing, the report states.  Because the complainant did not know the tenant prior to his rental of the property, the complainant believes the tenant will also try to steal the appliances that were in the residence, according to police.

*11:06pm-Brownwood Police were called to Wal-Mart regarding theft.  According to the report, the complainant stated that she believed her boyfriend stole her shotgun out of the vehicle that they were buying together.   The boyfriend stated that he did not know where the shotgun was and that he had not seen it in approximately two months, the report states.

*11:22pm-A Brown County Sheriff’s Deputy was dispatched to the Brown County Jail regarding a jailer who had been assaulted.  According to the report, the female jailer had been struck in the breast leaving a medium sized bruise and was bit on the left wrist when she was attempting to separate two female inmates who were fighting.  Other jailers came to help with the altercation and all inmates were controlled, according to the report.  Although the jailer did not pursue charges; a BCSO sergeant had already filed a report on the assault between the inmates without having knowledge of the jailer’s assault at the time of his initial report.

Tuesday, December 6

*2:48am-Brownwood Police received a report from a complainant that a known suspect had damaged a door on the complainant’s residence.  The door’s value was estimated at $200 according to the report.  Police report that the complainant wishes to pursue charges against the suspect for Criminal Mischief. $50-$500.

*12:00pm-Brownwood Police were called to the 300 block of Clark Street, Good Samaritan Ministries, regarding a hit and run.  According to the report, the complainant stated that an older male had backed up into his son’s car while it was parked in front of GSM and then drove away without providing any information.

*4:30pm-Brownwood Police responded to 401 W. Commerce, Wal-Mart, regarding a detained shoplifter.  The suspect was issued a citation for Class C theft and left the store without incident.

*6:02pm-Brownwood Police were dispatched to the 1200 block of Campa Drive regarding a stolen lawnmower.  According to the report, the incident occurred within the last week.  The mower’s value was estimated at $250, the report states.  No suspect information was available at the time of the report and the investigation is ongoing.

*11:23pm-Brownwood Police were dispatched to the 900 block of Riverside Drive, Duke’s Pub and Grub, regarding an assault.  According to the report, the victim stated that she was attacked inside the bar by a known subject. 

Wednesday, December 7

*Brownwood Police arrested 23-year-old Timothy McQuaig of Menard for Assault Family Violence and for an outstanding arrest out of Menard County for Delivery of Marijuana Greater than ¼ oz and Less than or Equal to 5 lbs.

All arrestees are considered innocent until proven guilty in a court of law.
