Law enforcement arrests and reports released Monday, December 5, 2016. All arrestees are considered innocent until proven guilty in a court of law. Blotter information compiled from local law enforcement reports and jail records.
*Brown County Sheriff’s Office arrested 53 year old Gilbert Tony Contreras, of Early, for Indecency with a Child/Sexual Contact. Contreras was released from the Brown County Jail on a $20,000 bond.
Friday, December 2nd
*10:59 p.m. Brownwood Police responded to a burglary at the 3400 block of Austin Avenue. Items stolen from the residence included a military pack containing survivor items. There are no suspects at this time and the investigation is ongoing.
*11:43 p.m. Brownwood Police were called to the 300 block of Center Avenue in reference to an unwanted person. After making contact, officers discovered the individual had an outstanding arrest warrant from Hood County. Officers arrested 38 year old Darrell Glenn Martin and transported him to the Brown County Jail. Upon arrival at the jail, Martin was discovered to be in possession of a small amount of marijuana. Martin was subsequently charged with possessing a prohibited substance in a correctional facility.
*2:29 p.m. Brown County Sheriff’s Deputy took a report at the Sheriff’s Office from a complainant stating a known suspect had stolen hydrocodone from an elderly victim. The investigation is ongoing.
*Brown County Sheriff’s Deputy was dispatched to Belfast Drive in regards to a an assault and robbery. The victim reported the assailant was at his residence when a fight occurred. The victim intervened and was assaulted and robbed, and was later transported to the emergency room for injuries sustained. A suspect was named and the deputy attempted contact but was unsuccessful. The investigation is ongoing.
Friday, December 2nd
*Matthew Wagner, 23 years old from Early, was arrested for Aggravated Assault with a Deadly Weapon. Wagner was released from the Brown County Jail on a $50,000 bond.
*Brown County Sheriff’s Office arrested 29 year old Christopher Lee Cantu for a warrant for Harassment. Cantu was later released from the Brown County Jail on a $1,500 bond.
*Brownwood Police arrested 32 year old Tabbatha Kay Gossett for Theft of Property, less than $750. Gossett was later released from the Brown County Jail on a $1,000 bond.
Saturday, December 3rd
*3:11 a.m. Brownwood Police responded to a domestic disturbance near the 2200 block of 13th Street. Officers arrested 26 year old Dakota Carrasco, of Santa Anna, for Assault/Family Violence, second offense within 12 months. The female victim has filed for an expedited protection order.
*7:34 a.m. Brown County Sheriff’s Deputy was dispatched to the jail after a jailer had been assaulted by an inmate. A report has been filed.
*12:54 p.m. Brownwood Police were dispatched to Walmart regarding a theft. A citation for theft less than $100 was issued to the suspect.
*3:17 p.m. Brownwood Police responded to a hit and run accident near the 700 block of E. Baker Street. A report has been filed.
*William Warren Lux, AKA: “Little Scrappy,” 31 years old, of Abilene, was booked into the Brown County Jail for Unauthorized Use of a Motor Vehicle. Lux, or “Little Scrappy,” as he prefers to be called, was later released on a $10,000 bond. Also arrested was Joelynne Smith, 41 years old from Dallas, for Unauthorized Use of a Motor Vehicle. Smith was released on a $10,000 bond.
Sunday, December 4th
*8:04 a.m. Brown County Sheriff’s Deputy responded to an assault call from an address on FM 45. A suspect was named and a report was filed.
*7:20 p.m. Brown County Sheriff’s Deputy observed a driver with an expired registration. After conducting a traffic stop, the deputy arrested 50 year old Norma Teresa Valencia, of San Saba, for Possession of a Controlled Substance, less than 1 gram.
*8:37 p.m. Brownwood Police were dispatched to Walmart regarding a theft. Officers issued citations for theft less than $100 to two suspects. Items reported stolen included car air fresheners, cosmetics, and Hallmark notecards.
*9:09 p.m. Brown County Sheriff’s Deputy was dispatched to Gordon Road in reference to suspicious activity. The caller stated her neighbor had contacted her and advised the gate to her property had been removed. Upon investigation it was discovered a riding lawnmower had been stolen. A suspect was named and a report was filed.
*TPWD officer arrested 25 year old Dustin Blake Miser for Driving While License Invalid, Violation of Promise to Appear. Miser was later released from the Brown County Jail on bonds totaling $2,000.
Monday, December 5th
*12:18 a.m. Brown County Sheriff’s Deputies were dispatched to Pency Drive for a burglary call. Both a residence and a storage building showed signs of forced entry, though no items were reported stolen at the time. An investigation into the incident is ongoing.
