Wednesday, January 20
*1:58 PM – Brownwood Police received a request to file a report on a local sex offender for failure to register annually.
Thursday January 21
*8:00 AM – A Brown County Sheriff’s deputy spoke with a complainant who stated his neighbor and an unknown male had driven across his property in a motor vehicle. According to the report, the two suspects were identified and issued criminal trespass-habitation warnings and the incident documented.
Friday, January 22
*3:10 PM – Brownwood Police met with a complainant at the law enforcement center regarding the criminal trespass of a habitation that occurred in the 1300 block of Brady Avenue.
*7:50 PM – Brownwood Police were called to a convenience store in the 900 block of Lillie Kimble Street regarding an assault. According to the report, the victim stated that her boyfriend had choked her and punched her in the head. An investigation is ongoing, the report states.
*10:57 PM – Brownwood Police were dispatched to the 2700 block of Temple Avenue regarding an aggravated sexual assault.
*Brownwood Police arrested 41-year-old Danny Abraham Salas, Jr. of Brownwood on warrants related to two counts of failure to appear and a warrant for theft of property equal or greater than $100 less than $750.
Saturday, January 23
*1:00 AM – A Brown County Sheriff’s deputy was called to a property on CR 155 where a property owner had penned four estrayed donkeys. No owner could be located and the animals were impounded, the report states.
*5:42 PM – Brownwood Police were called to the 400 block of W. Commerce regarding theft. According to the report, all items were located. A suspect was identified and will be forwarded for possible prosecution, the report states.
*9:23 PM – Brownwood Police were dispatched to the 300 block of W. Commerce regarding drugs/narcotics activity. According to the report, the responding officer discovered a male suspect in possession of marijuana. As a result of this call, the male, identified as 22-year-old Brandon Hernandez of Brownwood, was arrested for possession of marijuana less than 2 ounces.
*Brownwood Police arrested 30-year-old Christina Gaines of Early on a warrant related to the sexual assault of a child.
Sunday, January 24
*1:52 AM – Brownwood Police were called to the area of 11th Street and Coggin Avenue regarding a one-vehicle accident. According to the report, the responding officer arrived to find the male driver standing outside the vehicle. It was later determined that the driver, identified as 27-year-old Jacob Carl Morgan of Brownwood, was operating his vehicle while his license was suspended and that he was intoxicated, according to the report. Morgan was arrested for driving while intoxicated and driving while license invalid with previous convictions/without financial responsibility.
*10:13 AM – A Brownwood Police officer attempted to made a traffic stop in the 900 block of Parkway; however the driver of the vehicle fled in the vehicle and was unable to be located. A suspect has been identified and will be located, the report states.
*12:59 PM – A Brown County Sheriff’s deputy was dispatched to an accidental shooting at a property located on Pawnee Drive. According to the report, the deputy arrived on scene and found the victim was already being treated by first responders. The victim had been manipulating a handgun when he accidentally fired it into his left leg, the report states. He was transported by air to Abilene Regional Medical Center and the incident was documented.
*8:34 PM – Brownwood Police were called to the area of 4th Street and Indian Creek Drive regarding family violence. According to the report, witnesses were interviewed and the incident documented.
*9:02 PM – Brownwood Police were dispatched to the 1500 block of 2nd Street regarding criminal mischief. According to the report, four males moved two vehicles and knocked out the window of a third vehicle. The investigation is ongoing, the report states.
*9:07 PM – Brownwood Police were dispatched to the 2300 block of Vine Street regarding theft. According to the report, two guitars were stolen from the residence.
*Texas Department of Public Safety arrested 22-yaer-old Edgar Zubia of Greeley, Colorado for failure to identify giving false/fictitious information and possession of marijuana less than 2 ounces.
Monday, January 25
*Brownwood Police arrested 36-year-old Lillian Mann Baker of Bangs on a warrant related to failure to appear/possession of a controlled substance penalty group 1 less than 1 gram.
*Brown County Sheriff’s Office arrested 20-year-old Cody Don Vita of Brownwood for sexual assault.
