Wednesday, January 21

*10:26 PM – Brownwood Police were called to the 400 block of E. Commerce regarding the theft of property.

Thursday, January 22

*11:32 AM – Brownwood Police were dispatched to the 1600 block of Campa Drive regarding the burglary of a habitation.  According to the report, approximately $100 in coins was stolen and no suspect had been identified at the time of the report.

*12:51 PM – Brownwood Police were called to the 500 block of W. Commerce regarding fraud.  According to the report, an unknown subject attempted to purchase a vehicle via telephone from Big Country Ford using a stolen credit card.  The suspect claimed to be Richard Rich from Pennsylvania and provided an AT&T Universal Platinum Credit Card as payment for the vehicle.  The card was charged on January 21st in three transactions in the amounts of $8599.91, $7500 and $7800.  The car salesman who received the call for the purchase also received a call from the credit card company on January 22nd advising that the credit card had been reported lost or stolen and that the name given was not the name of the account holder.  Big Country Ford then refunded the transactions back to the card and had retained possession of the vehicle in question.  A driver’s license number which had been provided to the salesman by the alleged customer was provided to police and when the license was checked, the number did not return to the individual listed on the license copy.  No further information was available at the time of the report.

*Brown County Sheriff’s Office arrested 31-year-old Rebekah Kathleen Kennedy of Dallas on a warrant related to possession of a controlled substance penalty group 1 less than 1 grams.  Kennedy was being held at the Brown County Jail in lieu of $30,000 bond.

*Brown County Sheriff’s Office arrested 28-year-old Dustin Ray Lawson of Brownwood on a warrant related to driving while license invalid.

*Brown County Sheriff’s Office arrested 25-year-old Royce Phillips on a warrant related to driving while intoxicated.

*Brown County Sheriff’s Office arrested 28-year-old Jacob Vernon Townes of Runaway Bay for Criminal mischief equal or greater than $50 less than $500 and theft of property equal or greater than $20 less than $500 by check.

Friday, January 23

*12:40 AM – Brownwood Police were dispatched to the 400 block of W. Baker Street regarding an unwanted person.  According to the report, an intoxicated female was at the address hitting her mother.   The suspect fled the scene on foot prior to officers’ arrival, the report states.

*2:00 AM – Brownwood Police received a report of the alleged sexual assault of a child.  According to the report, the subject received third party information in reference of the sexual assault of a child.  After speaking with several subjects, a report was filed for continuous sexual abuse of a child under 14 and the investigation is ongoing, the report states.

*4:24 AM – Brownwood Police responded to a Brownwood residence in regarding the alleged sexual assault of a child.  While on scene, information was received about a previously unreported incident which had occurred sometime during the past two weeks.  The investigation is ongoing, the report states.

*Brown County Sheriff’s Office arrested 29-year-old Kevin Salazar of Brownwood on a warrant related to a surety withdrawal/possession of a controlled substance penalty group 1 equal or less than 1 gram.
