Tuesday, December 23

*4:33 AM – Brownwood Police were called to the 1600 block of 8th Street regarding criminal mischief.

*4:34 PM – A Brown County Sheriff’s deputy was dispatched to the Brownwood Law Enforcement Center located at 1050 W. Commerce Street in reference to theft.  The complainant stated that someone had stolen some of his property from his house and barn.  A possible suspect was identified and the complainant wished to pursue charges if a suspect is located.

*Brown County Sheriff’s Office received a report of identity theft.  According to the report, the complainant stated that he had just received his Verizon telephone bill and discovered someone had purchased 4 new iPhones and services in Alvin, Texas.

Wednesday, December 24

*11:18 AM – Brownwood Police were called to the 500 block of E. Commerce, SAWA Japanese Steak House regarding theft.  According to the report, an unknown person had stolen the display sign from in front of the building.  The investigation is continuing, the report states.

*3:39 PM – Brownwood Police were dispatched to the 1000 block of Riverside Drive regarding an unconscious male who was lying in the grass.  This call led to the arrest of 57-year-old Danny Ray Lyons of Rising Star for public intoxication, the report states.

*10:01 PM – A Brown County Sheriff’s deputy was dispatched to a residence on Forbess Drive in Brownwood regarding a burglary.  According to the report, the complainant stated that at approximately 9:34 PM, he noticed his neighbor’s front door was open and the lights were on at the residence. The complainant also stated the house was vacant, the report states.

*The Brownwood City Marshal arrested 42-year-old Dania Ann Romans on warrants related to failure to appear and failure to maintain financial responsibility.

Thursday, December 25

*10:40 PM – Brownwood Police were called to the 1700 block of Magnolia Street regarding an alleged sexual assault.

*11:43 AM – Brownwood Police were dispatched to the 400 block of E. Commerce Street, Value Lodge, regarding an assault.  The suspect, who was not on scene, was identified, according to the report.

*5:41 PM – A Brown County Sheriff’s deputy was dispatched to the area of County Road 603 at Lake Brownwood regarding a domestic disturbance.  Upon arrival, the deputy learned that 21-year-old Keith Wayne Hoff had pushed his mother and assaulted his step-father with an axe.  Hoff allegedly bit his step-father on both arms while he was restraining Hoff.  The step-father also suffered a possible broken finger during the incident. Hoff was arrested for aggravated assault with a deadly weapon causing serious bodily injury family violence.  Hoff was being held in the Brown County Jail on $100,000 bond as of Monday morning.

*9:33 PM – Brownwood Police were called to the 3200 block of Stephen F. Austin regarding a domestic disturbance.

*Brown County Sheriff’s Office arrested 64-year-old Stephen Alvarado of Brownwood on a warrant for theft of property equal or greater than $1500 less than $20,000.

Friday, December 26

*12:21 AM – A Brown County Sheriff’s deputy was dispatched to a residence on 5th Street in Blanket, regarding an assault and theft.  According to the report, the victim stated that his girlfriend had assaulted him after a verbal argument and taken property, which belongs to his landlord.

*9:36 AM – A Brown County Sheriff’s deputy investigated an abandoned vehicle located in the 7000 block of Farm Market Road 1467 East in Early.  Due to the fact the vehicle had been abandoned on the side of the road for 72 consecutive hours, it was impounded by Centex Wrecker, the report states.  All attempts to contact the registered owners have been unsuccessful.

*10:36 AM – Brownwood Police were called to the 1000 block of Wood Avenue regarding the burglary of a vehicle.  According to the report, the complainant stated that two electronic items were stolen from his unlocked vehicle.

*12:02 PM – A Brown County Sheriff’s deputy met with a complainant at the Law Enforcement Center regarding the burglary of a vehicle.  According to the report, the complainant stated that some time on December 23, 2014, a firearm was stolen from his vehicle while it was parked outside of his residence.  A possible suspect was named, the report states.

*1:10 PM – Brownwood Police were dispatched to Walmart regarding theft.  According to the report, 18-year-old Jose Ibarra of Comanche had allegedly stolen an LED headlamp, an FM transmitter with USB and a car air freshener.  Ibarra was subsequently arrested for theft of property greater than $50 less than $500.

*5:34 PM – Brownwood Police were called to Walmart regarding theft.  According to the report, this call led to the arrest of 46-year-old Richard Wayne Humphries of Blanket for theft over $50 less than $500.

*11:38 PM – Brownwood Police were on patrol in the area of Greenway Drive and Slayden Street when they observed a traffic violation.  This stop led to the arrest of the driver for driving while intoxicated.  While inventorying the vehicle subject to the arrest, officers located marijuana.

*11:38 PM – Brownwood Police made a traffic stop in the 1900 block of Slayden Street.   According to the report, the driver identified as 46-year-old Michael Kevin Phillips of Brownwood was found to be driving under the influence and had two active Brownwood municipal warrants.  Phillips was arrested and charged with driving while intoxicated, and for the warrants related to failure to maintain financial responsibility and no driver’s license.

*Brown County Sheriff’s Office arrested 41-year-old Rebecca Kingston of Brownwood on a Winkler County warrant related to theft of property.

*Early Police arrested 20-year-old Ventura Sanchez of Early for possession of marijuana less than 2 ounces in a drug free zone and possession of drug paraphernalia.

Saturday, December 27

*2:14 AM – A Brown County Sheriff’s deputy made a traffic stop for a defective license plate light in the 200 block of Early Blvd.  The driver of the vehicle was identified as 47-year-old Michael Todd Brooks of Rocheport, Missouri.  According to the report, the deputy noted that Brooks was very nervous and displayed deceptive behavior so the canine unit was deployed on Brooks’ vehicle and positively alerted on both the vehicle and Brooks.  A probable cause search of the vehicle yielded a plastic baggie containing residue, which field tested positive for methamphetamine, the report states.  Brooks was arrested for possession of controlled substance penalty group 1 less than 1 gram and no driver’s license.

*7:37 AM – Brownwood Police were notified by communications that a male subject residing in San Angelo requested a phone call from Brownwood Police regarding an offense that had occurred in the city of Brownwood.  According to the report, the male stated that his 13-year-old son had received inappropriate messages from a 24-year-old individual.  Contact was made with the complainant and a report was made for online solicitation of a minor regarding the incident, the report states.

*7:48 AM – Brownwood Police were called to the 2400 block of Asbury regarding criminal mischief.  According to the report, the complainant stated that someone had knocked down her mailbox.  Further investigation found that several mailboxes in the neighborhood had also been knocked down.

*12:05 PM – Brownwood Police were dispatched to the 2400 block of Belmeade regarding criminal mischief.  According to the report, a tire on the complainant’s vehicle had been punctured with a knife.

*1:26 PM – Brownwood Police were called to the 300 block of Bluffview regarding theft.  According to the report, the complainant stated that her mother’s medication was stolen over the holidays.

*1:31 PM – Brownwood met with a complainant who stated that her brother had stolen a television and a cellular phone from her.

*2:39 PM – Brownwood Police were called to the 2300 block of 1st Street regarding criminal mischief.  According to the report, the complainant stated that someone had slashed the tire of her family member’s car during the overnight hours.

*2:40 PM – Brownwood Police received a report of a missing person.  Brownwood Assistant Police James Fuller stated that the case is being investigated by the criminal investigations division of BPD and no information has been released at this time.

*3:47 PM – Brownwood Police met with a complainant at the law enforcement center regarding an assault.  According to the report, a male subject stated that his wife physically assaulted him.

*4:08 PM – Brownwood Police met with a complainant at the law enforcement center regarding an assault.  According to the report, a female complainant stated that she had been assaulted by her ex-boyfriend.

*7:05 PM – Brownwood Police made a traffic stop in the area of 3rd Street and Coggin Avenue regarding failure to signal a turn.  As a result of this stop, 34-year-old Richard Powell of Brownwood was arrested for driving while license suspended with previous convictions, the report states.

*7:53 PM – Brownwood Police were called to the 900 block of W. Baker Street regarding an assault which had just occurred.   Officers arrived on scene to find that one subject had left the scene.

*10:25 PM – A Brown County Sheriff’s deputy was dispatched to a residence located on County Road 564 at Lake Brownwood regarding the theft of a cell phone by multiple suspects while he was sleeping at their house.  According to the report, the complainant stated that he had been threatened by the suspects with firearms.  The complainant also reported his medication was also stolen and he named possible suspects.  He explained that when he later went to confront the suspects, he was threatened by them with a firearm, the report states.

*Brownwood Police arrested 47-year-old Bernard Crowder of Brownwood on a warrant related to motion to revoke/possession of marijuana less than 2 ounces.

Sunday, December 28

*10:55 AM – Brownwood Police were called to the 2400 block of Asbury regarding criminal mischief.  According to the report, three tires on the complainant’s vehicle had been slashed.

*2:19 PM – Brownwood Police were dispatched to the 2200 block of 8th Street regarding multiple counts of criminal mischief.  According to the report, a vehicle at this address had a tire slashed.  Three other vehicles had also been damaged within a two block area.

*8:40 PM – A Brownwood Police officer was walking through Walmart when he observed a female he knew from past incidents to have a criminal trespass warning for the property.  According to the report, 36-year-old Monica Theodora Castaneda of Brownwood was ringing up items at the self checkout lane.  Castenada was arrested for criminal trespass and possession of a controlled substance penalty group 3 less than 28 grams.

*A complainant called the Brown County Law Enforcement Center on Sunday morning, December 28, regarding theft.  According to the report, the complainant stated that his neighbor was apparently stealing electricity and water from his vacation home located on County Road 569.  The complainant stated that he was unable to determine an amount at the time of the report, but had noticed his utility billing rise over the last several months, the report states. A water hose was seen behind the neighbor’s home and an extension cord was connected to the neighbor’s home, the deputy’s report states.

*Early Police arrested 20-year-old Joshua Braley of Goldthwaite for possession of marijuana less than 2 ounces and possession of a controlled substance penalty group 2-A equal or less than 2 ounces.

*Texas Department of Public Safety arrested 28-year-old Alfredo Samuel Cordova II of Austin for possession of marijuana less than 2 ounces.

*Early Police arrested 17-year-old Brandon Wayne Horton of Brady for resisting arrests search or transport, possession of marijuana less than 2 ounces and possession of a controlled substance penalty group 2-A less than or equal to 2 ounces.

*Texas Department of Public Safety arrested 22-year-old Ryan Michael Junkert for public intoxication.

*Brownwood Police arrested 34-year-old Richard Lee Powell of Brownwood for driving while license invalid with previous convictions.

*Texas Department of Public Safety arrested 30-year-old William Duane Vehse of Killeen for possession of a controlled substance penalty group 2 equal or greater than 4 grams less than 400 grams.  Vehse was released on $20,000 bond.

Monday, December 29

*2:37 AM – Brownwood Police made a traffic stop in the area of Adams and Fisk Streets regarding the failure to signal a turn.  This stop led to the arrest of 18-year-old Brianna Nicole Laing of Brownwood for possession of marijuana less than 2 ounces.

*Texas Department of Public Safety arrested 34-year-old Kenneth Arellano of Bastrop for possession of marijuana less than 2 ounces.

*Early police arrested 32-year-old Danny Ray Herrin of Brownwood for possession of a controlled substance penalty group 1 less than 1 gram and failure to stop.
