A Brownwood man was arrested by Brownwood Police Thursday charged with aggravated sexual assault of a child.
Jesus Fellipe Lopez, was booked into Brown County jail on the charge after allegedly assaulting a teenage female relative on Thursday, according to Assistant Chief of Police James Fuller.
Fuller said that officers were called to the 1000 block of W. Commerce Thursday around noon to the report of a male and female running down the road arguing. Officers made contact with the two, the suspect and victim’s mother, along with the teen in the alleyway next to the Law Enforcement Center near Sunset Terrace Apartments. The female told police that a sexual assault occurred and Lopez was arrested, according to Fuller.
The victim was taken to Hendrick Medical Center in Abilene for evaluation. Lopez remained jailed Friday.
Fuller said that the investigation is ongoing in this case.

*Brownwood Police responded to a burglary of a home in the 1800 block of 9th Street. The burglary took place between 12/15 in the evening and 12/17 around 9 AM. The home was entered through an unlocked window and numerous items of electronics and jewelry were taken. The victim said that the loss exceeds $20,000.

*8:15 PM – Brownwood Police met with a complainant at the Law Enforcement Center regarding an assault.
Wednesday, December 26
*12:41 PM – Brownwood Police were called to the 200 block of Center regarding a vehicle that may have been burglarized. The complainant said that her vehicle had been broken into and damaged, but nothing was missing.
*8:01 PM – Brownwood Police were called to the 600 block of Melwood regarding a possible sexual assault. The female complainant said that a male had entered her home and sexually assaulted her. Police are investigating.
Thursday, December 27
*Brownwood Police recovered a stolen vehicle in the parking lot area of Coggin Park. An officer noticed that the vehicle had been parked at the park for a few days and checked the license plate number. This revealed that the vehicle had different front and back license plates which did not match the VIN number. Brown County Sheriff’s Office had the vehicle down as stolen.
*8:11 PM – Brownwood Police responded to the 100 block of CC Woodson Road regarding a domestic disturbance. Police spoke with three parties involved.

*2:57 AM – Brownwood Police were called to a residence in the 1600 block of 6th Street where a woman woke up and found an unknown woman passed out on her living room sofa. According to the report, the complainant had attempted to wake the female; however, she was unresponsive and not knowing what else to do, the complainant called police. Officers found the woman face down on the sofa, with a “very disheveled appearance, clothing not covering the appropriate areas and a lack of shoes,” the report states. Guardian EMS was called due to the female stating she had cerebral palsy, and the report states that the female gave a false name and birth date. According to the report, dispatch verified that the suspect, Stephanie Baker, had a warrant out for her arrest for parole violations out of Austin, and Baker was arrested for failure to identify fugitive.
