Friday, December 18
*11:14 AM – Brownwood Police made a pedestrian stop in the area of Booker and Lee Streets which led to the arrest of Donald Lieberman on active Brown County warrants.
*2:52 PM – Brownwood Police were dispatched to the 400 block of W. Commerce regarding theft. According to the report, the victim stated that a known suspect had made unauthorized charges to the victim’s debut card. The investigation is ongoing, the report states.
*7:26 PM – Brownwood Police made a traffic stop in the area of 3rd Street and Avenue K for a defective head lamp. This stop led to the arrest of 43-year-old Eddie Ted Gomez of Brownwood for Unlawful Possession of Firearm by Felon.
*10:35 PM – A Brown County Sheriff’s deputy, while on patrol on County Road 257, observed a pickup traveling on CR 257 near the intersection of CR 270 with no headlights on. According to the report, the vehicle only had its parking lights on with the left turn signal flashing. The deputy initiated a traffic stop which resulted in the driver, identified as 69-year-old George McCutchen of Early, being arrested for driving while intoxicated.
*Brown County Sheriff’s Office arrested 31-year-old Gabriel Isaac Herrera of Comanche on a warrant related to motion to revoke/possession of a controlled substance in a drug free zone.*Brownwood Police arrested 49-year-old Donald Ray Lieberman of Zephyr on warrants related to no fishing and failure to appear.
*Brown County Sheriff’s Office arrested 24-year-old Alexander Jose Martinez of Brownwood on a parole violation.
*48-year-old Javier Ovieda Zuniga turned himself in on a warrant related to motion to revoke/driving while intoxicated 2nd.
Saturday, December 19
*12:20 AM – Brownwood Police made a traffic stop in the area of 6th Street and Avenue H regarding a defective license plate lamp. According to the report, this stop led to the arrest of 23-year-old Rolando Castaneda of Brownwood for driving while intoxicated.
*1:25 AM – Brownwood Police were called to the 2700 block of Elizabeth Drive regarding an assault. According to the report, the victim stated he was assaulted at a party in the 2400 block of Southside Drive which left his nose swollen and bloody. The suspect, was identified and interviewed, the report states. The investigation is ongoing, according to police.
*10:33 AM – Brown County Sheriff’s investigators received information about possible narcotics activity at a local motel. According to the report, the investigators had learned that a female subject, identified as 27-year-old Meranda Delgadillo of Coleman and two other subjects, were staying in a room at the a local hotel on E. Commerce and that Delgadillo would be in possession of a large amount of methamphetamine for distribution. According to the report, the investigators began surveillance on the room and observed the suspect leave the motel. After a traffic violation, the suspect vehicle was stopped. The driver, identified as 31-year-old Joseph Ferguson of Early acted very nervous and was patted down and was found to be in possession of a methamphetamine pipe with heavy residue, the report states. Ferguson stated that the back seat passenger 36-year-old Rodney Leatherman of Bangs had handed him the pipe as the stop was initiated, according to the report. The vehicle was searched and the officers found 32- 1 gram bags of methamphetamine and approximately 8 grams of methamphetamine in other bags or containers, 1.3 grams of “wax” (resinous extractives of cannabis), approximately 7 grams of high grade marijuana, numerous pieces of drug paraphernalia and $3560 in cash, according to the report. Also found in the glovebox was a set of brass knuckles. Delgadillo, Leatherman and Ferguson were arrested and charged with manufacture delivery of a controlled substance penalty group 1 equal or greater than 4 grams less than 200 grams, possession of a controlled substance penalty grade 2 equal or greater than 1 gram less than 4 grams, tamper/fabricate physical evidence, and possession of marijuana less than 2 ounces. Delgadillo was additionally charged with failure to identify fugitive and for the active Coleman County warrant. Ferguson was additionally charged with prohibited weapon knuckles and arrested on two surety withdrawals. Delgadillo was being held on bonds totaling $84,000; Leatherman was being held on bonds totaling $76,500; and Ferguson was being held on bonds totaling $96,000 as of Monday morning. Chief Deputy Vance Hill stated his appreciation for the good work of all officers involved, “I appreciate another job well done by the Brown County Sheriff’s Office Inspector Gover and Deputy John Gramling, Brownwood Police Corporal Tad Miller and Patrolman Kelly Barclay who assisted with the arrests.”
*12:29 PM – A Brown County Sheriff’s deputy was dispatched to the Brownwood Law Enforcement Center regarding theft. According to the report, the complainant stated that his former roommates would not return his firearm back to him.
*12:55 PM – Brownwood Police were called to the 1200 block of Austin Avenue regarding theft. According to the report, a known male subject had allegedly stolen lighters from the business, valued at $32.82. The store wished to pursue criminal charges according to the report.
*1:11 PM – A Brown County Sheriff’s deputy met with a complainant who stated while he was in the hospital his house was broken into and several items were stolen. Two possible suspects were identified along with the possibility of a third suspect.
*2:02 PM – Brownwood Police were called to the 600 block of Norwood Street regarding a domestic disturbance. According to the report, as a result of this call, 33-year-old David Ramon of Brownwood was arrested for assault by threat or offensive threat or offensive touch – family violence.
*4:10 PM – Brownwood Police were called to the 500 block of Walnut Street regarding the theft of a firearm.
*10:28 PM – Brownwood Police were dispatched to the 300 block of E. Commerce regarding the burglary of a vehicle.
*Brown County Water Improvement Lake Patrol arrested 19-year-old Farah Renee Boykin of Brownwood on a San Saba County warrant related to assault.
Sunday, December 20
*1:03 AM – Brownwood Police were called to the 2800 block of Southside Drive regarding an assault with injury, which had occurred at another location.
*1:05 AM – A Brown County Sheriff’s deputy was dispatched to County Road 471 regarding a domestic disturbance. The deputy spoke to the victim who said he did not want to pursue charges. The deputy also spoke with the suspect who also damaged some shared property.
*10:18 AM – Brownwood Police were dispatched to the 2200 block of Dartmore Street regarding the burglary of a vehicle. According to the report, a firearm was reported to have been stolen from the vehicle.
*1:36 PM – Brownwood Police were called to the 400 block of W. Commerce regarding theft. According to the report, the complainant had accidentally left her purse unattended as she shopped and it had been stolen. The purse contained identification cards, debit and credit cards along with a check book, the report states.
*2:37 PM – Brownwood Police initiated a traffic stop on Coleman Street regarding a vehicle that was spinning its tires and revving its engines as well as doing “doughnuts” in the parking lot of a business. According to the report, the driver tried to evade the officer at speeds up to 80 mph and was later arrested when he lost control of his vehicle in the 200 block of Coleman Street. The driver of the vehicle, identified as 19-year-old Uriel Ortiz of Brownwood, was arrested for driving while intoxicated and for evading.
*4:41 PM – A Brown County Sheriff’s deputy spoke to a complainant regarding an assault. According to the report, the complainant stated that 44-year-old Robert Wayne White of Brownwood assaulted him by putting his hands around his neck, flipping him onto the ground, and then striking him in his chest and abdomen. The deputy spoke to White, who stated 3 times that he had choked the complainant due to the complainant having his finger in his face, the report states. Both White and the complainant live in the same group residence. White was arrested for assault against elderly or disabled individual-family violence.
*5:59 PM – Brownwood Police were dispatched to the 1800 block of Slayden Street regarding the burglary of a vehicle. According to the report, a loaded handgun was stolen when an unknown suspect entered the vehicle through an open window.
*9:50 PM – Brownwood Police were called to the 700 block of Avenue I regarding theft. According to the report, a bicycle was reported to have been stolen from the residence and a possible suspect was named.
*Texas Department of Public Safety arrested 29-year-old Michael Chumbley of Lubbock for possession of a controlled substance penalty group 2 less than 1 gram and possession of marijuana less than 2 ounces.
*Texas Department of Public Safety arrested 17-year-old Nickolas L. West of Coleman for possession of marijuana and delivery of a controlled substance/marijuana to minor.
