Brownwood Police received the report of a hit and run accident which left a building damaged in the 100 block of Austin Avenue Thursday evening.
According to police, a caller reported the incident around 8:07 PM and stated that a male subject had driven his white 1988 model Chevrolet pickup into the building. The caller stated that the male got out of the vehicle and looked at the damage, returned to his vehicle and then drove away.
The suspect fled west on Austin Avenue and out of the caller’s sight, according to police.
The incident left substantial exterior and interior damage to the building. The business owner arrived Friday morning to find the damaged wall, pictured above.
No suspect had been identified or arrested as of Friday morning according to police.

*Brown County Sheriff’s Office received a report of the violation of a protective order. According to the report, the complainant’s boyfriend and father of her child, has been violating an emergency protective order by texting and calling her, the report states.
Thursday, December 19
*8:43 AM – Brownwood Police were called to the 200 block of 8th Street regarding criminal mischief. According to the report, sometime between 5:00 PM on December 18th and 6:30 AM on this date, an unknown subject entered the loading area and stole two security cameras and damaged an electric hoist. The incident is under investigation, the report states.
*6:35 PM – Brownwood Police were called to the 1600 block of 14th Street regarding a hit and run of a parked vehicle. The complainant wished to pursue charges for the damage to her vehicle if a suspect is identified.
*7:35 PM – Brownwood Police were dispatched to the 2400 block of Austin Avenue regarding the violation of a protective order.
*9:05 PM – Brownwood Police were dispatched to the 2300 block of Stephen F. Austin, the VFW Post, regarding a hit and run. According to the report, the complainant’s vehicle was struck by another vehicle while parked at the location. The suspect fled the scene of the accident, the report states.
*The Brownwood City Marshal arrested 17-year-old Matthew Denson for possession of marijuana less than 2 ounces.
*60-year-old Fred Allen Westerman turned himself in on a warrant related to indecency with child sexual contact.
*Brown County Sheriff’s Office arrested 30-year-old Michael John Zarate on warrants for aggravated assault child and indecency with child sexual assault, along with a charge of bail jumping and failure to appear. Zarate was being held as of Friday morning in the Brown County Jail on bonds totaling $55,000.
Friday, December 20
*Early Police arrested 64-year-old James Ronnie Clemons of Early for terroristic threat/family.
*A Texas Department of Parks and Wildlife game warden arrested 30-year-old Jonathan Shane Eisenhauer for possession of a controlled substance and tamper/fabricate physical evidence with intent to impair.
*Early Police arrested 33-year-old Richard Hathcock for driving while intoxicated open alcohol container and resist arrest search or transport.
