Monday, December 17

*1:00 p.m. – The Brownwood High School resource officer was called to the 2100 block of Slayden, Brownwood Accelerated High School, regarding a student disrupting  the class by entering a class after being told it was prohibited.   The student was issued citations for committing disorderly conduct by profane language and for disruption of class, the report states.

Tuesday, December 18

*12:59 p.m. – Brownwood Police, assisted by the Brown County Sheriff’s Office, executed a narcotics search/arrest warrant at an apartment on Good Shepherd Drive.  A quantity of methamphetamine and triazolam were located in the apartment along with an illegal firearm, the report states.  The resident, 49-year-old Johnny Lino Garcia, was arrested and charged with possession of a controlled substance penalty group 3 less than 28 grams in a drug free zone, possession of a controlled substance penalty group 1 less than 1 gram in a drug free zone, and prohibited weapon in a weapons free zone.

*1:12 p.m. – The Brownwood High School resource officer was called to the Brownwood Accelerated High School regarding a student who was possibly under the influence of some type of substance.  According to the report, an investigation determined that the student was under the influence of what was believed to be marijuana and was found to be in the possession of a glass pipe with residue which was also believed to be marijuana.  The student will be sent to the Disciplinary Alternative Education Program for a period of 45 days as school discipline and was issued a citation for possession of drug paraphernalia, the report states.  The pipe was placed in the Brownwood Police Department evidence room.

Wednesday, December 19

*5:15 a.m. – A Brownwood Police officer observed a vehicle with only one headlight traveling at a high rate of speed with what appeared to be debris coming from the vehicle.    According to the report, the officer made a traffic stop in the area of Low Street and Southside Drive.  An investigation determined that the driver had been in a single vehicle traffic accident, the report states.  The driver, identified as 23-year-old Isaac James Buendia, was placed under arrest for reckless driving and accident involving damage to vehicle less than $200.

*9:29 p.m. – Brownwood Police made a traffic stop in the 1500 block of 4th Street due to the driver not wearing a seat belt.  According to the report, the driver was identified as 52-year-old Lajon Marqui Miller of Brady and was found to be operating the vehicle with a suspended driver’s license, and also had a prior conviction for the same offense.  Miller was subsequently arrested for driving while license invalid with previous conviction.

*11:25 a.m. – Brownwood Police were contacted by Lampasas Police officer Lucas Levitt regarding a traffic stop he had made involving a very nervous driver who confessed to him that she had used another person’s credit/debit card and that she believed she was going to be arrested by Brownwood Police for the crime.  According to the report, the case is currently under investigation by Brownwood Police and the confession was recorded on the officer’s patrol car camera system.  No arrest had been made at the time of the report.

*5:49 p.m. – Brownwood Police were called to the 1500 block of Terrace Drive regarding theft.  According to the report, the complainant stated that he had left a 16-inch chrome wheel valued at approximately $100 on the front porch of his apartment; however when he returned at approximately 5:00 p.m., the tire was missing.

*6:25 p.m. – Brownwood Police were called to the 600 block of Corrigan regarding theft.  According to the report, a gold and diamond necklace was stolen from the residence.

*9:15 p.m. – Brownwood Police were dispatched to the 100 block of Southpark Drive regarding an assault.  According to the report, a complainant advised that earlier this date, while at a doctor’s appointment, the doctor bit her son’s finger and bruised his arm.  The investigation is ongoing.

*Brown County Sheriff’s Office arrested 42-year-old Tammy Lynn Berry for manufacture/delivery of a controlled substance penalty group 3/4 in drug free zone.

Thursday, December 20

*Brownwood Police made a traffic stop in the 2500 block of Belle Plain Street for speeding.  According to the report, the vehicle was observed traveling at 57 mph in a 40 mph zone.  The driver, identified as 21-year-old Jessica Carey Martin of Abilene, was arrested for possession of marijuana less than 2 ounces and for driving while license invalid with previous conviction.

*Brown County Sheriff’s Office arrested Gene Land for public intoxication.
