Friday, November 21
*5:16 PM – Brownwood Police were called to the 2200 block of Brady Avenue regarding the burglary of a building. According to the report, a microwave, a Harley Davidson saddle bag, motorcycle seat, a bag of golf clubs, a television and an electric keyboard were stolen from a storage building.
Saturday, November 22
*8:21 PM – Brownwood Police were dispatched to the 300 block of E. Commerce Street, Big Lots, regarding stolen property. According to the report, an investigation later determined the incident to be a case of organized criminal activity.
Wednesday, November 26
*7:46 AM – Brownwood Police responded to the 1600 block of Avenue K regarding the burglary of a vehicle. According to the report, the complainant reported several items stolen from her locked vehicle, including a purse with several debit credit and personal identification cards. The vehicle was damaged by a tool used to enter the vehicle, the report states. An investigation is ongoing, according to police.*11:33 AM – Brownwood Police were dispatched to the 300 block of E. Commerce regarding theft. According to the report, a welder, handheld torch and a safety hasp were stolen from the property.
*1:04 PM – Brownwood Police responded to the 1600 block of 4th Street regarding the burglary of a vehicle.
*1:19 PM – Brownwood Police were called to Walmart regarding theft. According to the report, during the incident a tool set, GPS, camera, video camera and a portable speaker were stolen. This call led to the arrest of 36-year-old Jamie Lee Green and 17-year-old Cassie Emmaline Mayer, both of Comanche for theft over $500 less than $1500.
*7:36 PM – Brownwood Police were dispatched to the 1900 block of Vincent Street regarding terroristic threat. According to the report, the caller stated that a male had come to the residence and had pulled a gun on her son and threatened him. This deadly conduct was documented the report states.
*Brownwood Police arrested 28-year-old Brandon Russell Lawson of Brownwood on a Tarrant County warrant for non-payment of child support.
*Early Police arrested 34-year-old Rudolfo Hernandez Lopez of Brownwood on a parole violation.
Thursday, November 27
*2:15 AM – Brownwood Police made a pedestrian stop in the 1500 block of 1st Street.
*9:11 AM – Brownwood Police were dispatched to the 400 block of E. Commerce regarding a domestic disturbance. The disturbance was settled by separation.
*11:42 PM – Brownwood Police made a traffic stop in the area of 3rd Street and Coggin Avenue for a violation. According to the report, the driver 35-year-old Michelle Lee Salazar of Brownwood was found to have a suspended license along with a previous conviction for driving while license invalid. Salazar was arrested for driving while license invalid with a previous conviction.
Friday, November 28
*8:15 AM – Brownwood Police were called to the 400 block of W. Lee regarding an assault.
*8:49 AM – Brownwood Police met with a complainant at the law enforcement center regarding a hit and run.
*11:28 AM – Brownwood Police were dispatched to the 1700 block of 1st Street regarding an alleged sexual assault.
*11:34 AM – Brownwood Police responded to the 1600 block of 11th Street regarding theft. According to the report, the complainant stated that six computer tablets were stolen from her residence. She believed the construction company she fired was responsible for the theft, the report states. An investigation is ongoing, according to police.
*12:05 PM – Brownwood Police responded to the 300 block of E. Commerce regarding an accident. According to the report, one driver, identified as 27-year-old Dilan Cox of Brownwood, stated that he didn’t have a driver’s license or insurance. Cox was subsequently arrested for driving while license invalid, the report states. He had a suspended license and did not have insurance on his vehicle, according to police.
*1:18 PM – Brownwood Police were dispatched to the 3300 block of Stephen F. Austin regarding theft.
*2:07 PM – Brownwood Police were called to the 1400 block of Austin Avenue regarding theft.
*4:43 PM – Brownwood Police were dispatched to the area of Beaver Street and W. Austin Avenue regarding a domestic disturbance. No arrests were made at the time of the report, according to police.
*5:52 PM – Brownwood Police were called to the 1600 block of 6th Street regarding the burglary of a motor vehicle. According to the report, some clothing items along with some prescription drugs were stolen from the vehicle.
*10:59 PM – Brownwood Police were dispatched to the 2300 block of Elizabeth Drive regarding a domestic disturbance which was in progress. According to the report, the subjects involved were separated for the night.
*A Brown County Sheriff’s deputy stopped a vehicle traveling west on Hwy 377 East for headlight being out. According to the report, the deputy made contact with the occupants of the vehicle and they were identified as 43-year-old Ruben Cadena (who was driving) and 36-year-old Monica Castaneda (the passenger) both of Brownwood. Neither subject had any form of identification on them at the time, the report states. During an investigation, the deputy was advised Cadena had a suspended driver’s license and discovered Castaneda had a small clear baggy with a substance, which tested positive for Methamphetamines, in her seat, according to the deputy’s report. After placing Castaneda and Cadena under arrest, the deputy located a broken glass pipe in the bed of the truck, which he believed had been recently placed there, the report states. He also located 2 glass pipes in Castaneda’s purse, according to the report. Castaneda was arrested for tampering or fabricating evidence and possession of controlled substance penalty group1 less than 1 gram. Cadena was charged with possession of controlled substance penalty group 1 less than 1 gram and driving while license invalid.
*Brownwood Police arrested 30-year-old Yunuen Moctezuma-Mercado of Brownwood on a warrant related to driving while license invalid.
*36-year-old Christina Reyes Moreno of Brownwood turned herself in on a warrant related to theft of services equal or greater than $20 less than $500.
*Brownwood Police arrested 32-year-old Kristi Janyce Shumaker on a Tom Green County warrant related to motion to revoke theft of property greater than $1500 less than $20,000.
*Brown County Sheriff’s Office arrested 39-year-old Brandy Iwaun Smith on a warrant related to theft of property greater than $20 less than $500.
Saturday, November 29
*12:44 AM – Brownwood Police made a traffic stop in the 1200 block of 1st Street. According to the report, a quantity of marijuana was located during the stop. This led to the arrest of 29-year-old Alex Arellano for the offense of possession of marijuana equal or greater than 2 ounces in a drug free zone, driving while license with previous convictions as well as on warrants related to surety withdrawals for driving while license invalid with previous conviction, possession of marijuana less than 2 ounces, evading arrest or detention and resist arrest search or transport. Arellano was being held in the Brown County Jail on bonds totaling $15,000 as of Monday morning.
*4:30 PM – Brownwood Police were called to Walmart regarding theft. This call led to the arrest of 20-year-old Dustin Cates Baker of Brownwood for theft greater than $50 less than $500.
*5:48 PM – Brownwood Police were dispatched to a business in the 200 block of E. Commerce Street regarding an intoxicated person. This call led to the arrest of 51-year-old Danny Ray Lyons of Rising Star for public intoxication and obstruction/retaliation.
*A Brown County Sheriff’s deputy conducted a traffic stop on a vehicle for traveling on Hwy 67 West, speeding 82mph in a 75 mph zone. According to the report, when the deputy approached the vehicle he could smell the odor of burnt marijuana. During a roadside investigation the driver, identified as 21-year-old Matthew Powell, advised the deputy he had marijuana in the vehicle along with a cookie, which contained THC, the report states. Powell advised he had bought it in Colorado while traveling back home to Copperas Cove, according to the deputy, who located a white paper bag behind the front passenger seat where Powell told him it would be. The bag contained the following, a green plastic container with 3.4g of Marijuana, 3 small green containers that had a 1g blunt in each one and a peanut butter cookie that contained THC in it, the report states. The cookie had a total weight of 13.7g and the label on the wrapper stated the cookie contained 10g of THC, the report states. The vehicle was inventoried and released to Harpers Wrecker Service. Powell was arrested for Possession of a Controlled substance PG2 greater than 4grams less than 400grams, according to the report.
*A Brown County Sheriff’s deputy responded to a domestic disturbance at a residence on Valley Vista Drive. According to the report, the deputy made contact with a female suspect. She advised the deputy she and her brother had gotten into an argument, the report states. During the investigation it was determined the female was the actual aggressor, and she is the one who assaulted a male relative, according to the deputy’s report. The male was complaining of lower back pain and neck pain and EMS was called to the scene, later transporting him to BRMC to be evaluated, the deputy reported. The female suspect was not arrested at the time due to only redness on the side of the male’s head where she had slapped him, according to the deputy. The matter was settled by separation since the female was also requesting to go to BRMC at the time according to the report.
*50-year-old Scott Byrd of Cross Plains was arrested by a Texas Parks and Wildlife game warden for harassment of hunters, trappers and fishermen.
Sunday, November 30
*1:19 AM – A Brown County Sheriff’s deputy was dispatched to a report of a vehicle parked in the median of east Hwy 377 near CR 292 with an unconscious female driver. According to the report, the deputy located a blue Ford Escape parked in the intersection of FM 3100 and east Hwy 377 occupied by an unconscious female driver. The driver, identified as 22-year-old Stephanie Marie Boggs of Brownwood, was found to be intoxicated, the deputy reported. Boggs admitted to driving from Waylon’s and Ray’s bar in Brownwood and said she was trying to get to a friend’s house in Early, according to the report. Boggs was arrested for driving while intoxicated, and transported to the Brown County Jail where she consented to provide a breath sample. An analysis of Boggs’ 2 breath samples indicated her blood alcohol content was 0.182 and 0.175 according to the deputy’s report.
*1:33 AM – Brownwood Police responded to a residence on Cleburne Street regarding an assault and a subject’s door being kicked in. According to the report, the suspect was still on scene and was identified as 18-year-old Javan Wilson of Brownwood. An investigation led to the arrest of Wilson for aggravated assault causes serious bodily injury.
*12:37 PM – Brownwood Police were dispatched to the 400 block of South Broadway regarding theft of property.
*12:15 PM – A Brown County Sheriff’s deputy was dispatched to a property on County Road 474 in Bangs regarding an unwanted person.
*12:55 PM – A Brown County Sheriff’s deputy was dispatched to the Brownwood Regional Medical Center Emergency Room located on Crockett Drive Brownwood regarding an assault. According to the report, the deputy arrived at the emergency room and spoke with the victim and his girlfriend. Upon interviewing these subjects, the deputy was informed that both the victim and his girlfriend had been assaulted by different people earlier that morning, according to the report. This case will also be in reference to the assault on the male at a property on Gobbler Hollow, the report states.
*A Brown County Sheriff’s deputy made a traffic stop on a vehicle for running a stop sign. According to the report, while conducting a roadside interview, the deputy noted the passenger, William Hall moving around, stomping his feet on the floorboard. Hall explained his movements were due to his back hurting, the report states. When the deputy had Hall exit the vehicle he found crushed white powder on the floor board which tested positive for methamphetamine, according to the report. Hall admitted to the deputy that he was trying to take 3 grams to a friend and stated that after some of the methamphetamine fell out of the wrapper, the driver 52-year-old Sue Ann Prince of Bangs had put it into her tea, the report states. The tea also tested positive for methamphetamine and had a total weight of 273 grams, according to the deputy. The powder in the floorboard weighed 1 gram, the report states. Hall also surrendered a small wrapper with under a gram of methamphetamine, which he had pulled from his pocket. 54-year-old Hall was arrested for possession of a controlled substance penalty group 1 equal or greater than 200 grams less than 400 grams, manufacture deliver controlled substance penalty group 1 equal or greater than 1 gram less than 4 grams and tamper/fabricate physical evidence. Prince was found to be in possession of a hydrocodone, a tramadol and 2 methylphenidates, according to the report. She was subsequently arrested and charged with possession of a controlled substance penalty group 1 equal or greater than 200 grams less than 400 grams, manufacture deliver controlled substance penalty group 1 equal or greater than 1 gram less than 4 grams tamper/fabricate physical evidence, possession of a controlled substance penalty group 3 less than 28 grams, and possession of dangerous drugs. Hall was being held in the Brown County Jail in lieu of bonds totaling $32,500 and Prince was being held in lieu of bonds totaling $37,500 as of Tuesday morning.
*9:41 PM – Brownwood Police made a traffic stop in the 1800 block of Waco Street. According to the report, the driver of the vehicle, identified as 48-year-old Jacqueline Sessions of Brownwood, appeared to be nervous and her passenger 43-year-old James Douglas Walters of Brownwood was scratching a lottery card and did not make eye contact with the officer as he was talking to him. Dispatch advised the officer that Walters had an active Taylor County warrant for his arrest and that Sessions was flagged as being associated with illegal narcotics, the report states. As Walters was arrested, he surrendered a straw which had a small amount of white residue that he explained was used to snort hydrocodone due to pain, according to the report. Consent was given to search the vehicle and a CD case was found that contained a small pink ziplock baggie with crystal-like substance believed to be methamphetamine. Sessions claimed ownership of the CD case but stated that she believed a man who had worked on her stereo must have left the drugs in the case, the report states.. A field test of the crystal substance was positive for methamphetamine; however, the white residue on the straw tested negative. The methamphetamine was found within reach of both Walters and Sessions and subsequently both were arrested and each charged with possession of a controlled substance penalty group 1 equal or greater than 1 gram less than 4 grams in a drug free zone. Walters was also arrested for the active warrant related to motion to revoke/forgery/counterfeit.
*11:26 PM – A Brown County Sheriff’s deputy made a traffic stop and noted the driver to have extremely blood shot eyes. According to the report, the driver was asked to exit the vehicle and as he did, the deputy noticed a clear glass jar with a lid under the driver’s seat. This type of jar is commonly used to hold marijuana due to its air tight lid, according to the deputy. The driver, identified as 27-year-old Ricardo Rivera Santiago confirmed that the jar previously had marijuana in it and the deputy found marijuana residue in the bottom of the jar, the report states. A consent search located several glass pipes with residue along with three glass vials, two small bags and a plastic container with residue which field tested positive for methamphetamine, according to the report. Two pair of brass knuckles were also located inside the vehicle, the report states. Santiago was arrested and charged with possession of a controlled substance penalty group 1 less than 1 gram, possession of drug paraphernalia and prohibited weapon/knuckles.
*Brown County Sheriff’s Office received a report of fraud. According to the report, the complainant stated that at least two electronic transactions had been made on his bank account totaling $1755.09.
Monday, December 1
*3:07 AM – Brownwood Police were dispatched to the 1300 block of Avenue D regarding a subject making threats and then throwing a bird bath through a window of a home. A possible suspect was determined and an investigation was performed, the report states.
*8:19 AM – Brownwood Police were called to the 1200 block of W. Austin Avenue regarding the burglary of a vehicle.
*8:50 AM – Brownwood Police received a report of criminal mischief and the burglary of a vehicle in the 900 block of Malone Street.
*10:03 AM – Brownwood Police were called to the 400 block of E. Commerce regarding theft. According to the report, the complainant stated that a laptop he had left in the room of a local motel had been stolen.
*Brownwood Police arrested 22-year-old Dedra Crider of Brownwood on a warrant related to injury to a child causes bodily injury.
*Early Police arrested 23-year-old Garey Guthrie of Santa Anna for driving while intoxicated, possession of drug paraphernalia and stopping in roadway transportation.
*Brownwood Police arrested 22-year-old Zarek Chase Smith of Abilene for driving while license invalid with previous conviction.
*Brownwood Police arrested 44-year-old Brandy Lyn Stokes of Brownwood on warrants related to 9 counts of forgery/elderly and forgery of a financial instrument.
Tuesday, December 2
*Brown County Sheriff’s Office received a report of unauthorized use of a motor vehicle. According to the report, the complainant stated that a friend had borrowed her vehicle and refused to return it.
