LECSmBrownwood Police met with a complainant at the Law Enforcement Center around noon on Monday, December 17th, with a report that he was just threatened with a gun by two unknown men.

According to the report, the complainant stated that he went to pay his AT&T bill at the local store on W. Commerce and had just exited his vehicle when a pickup with two male subjects pulled up beside him and began making racial slurs at the complainant who is of Asian descent.

After going into the store, the complainant decided to follow the men and ask them why they would talk to him like that and curse him, the report states.  The complainant pulled up beside the truck and asked the suspects why they would do such a thing, when one of the males reached behind the seat of the pickup and pulled out a rifle, showing it to him, and said “get out of my way or I am going to kill you,” the report states.    The complainant told police that the suspects did not point the gun at him, but that he felt threatened and that they also threw food onto his vehicle.

The complainant called 9-1-1 and was told not to follow the pickup anymore.  The suspect vehicle was last seen traveling north on Hwy 183 in Early, toward May, so the Rising Star and Eastland police departments were advised of the vehicle; however it was not able to be located, the report states.  A license plate number was provided by the complainant and the incident was investigated as an aggravated assault with a deadly weapon and a report was filed.

Tuesday, December 11

*2:22 p.m. – Brownwood Police were called to the 600 block of Cedar Street regarding the burglary of a building.  According to the report, the complainant stated that a residence and small shed he owns was burglarized and a number of tools and other items were stolen.  The incident was believed to have occurred between November 16th and December 11th, the report states.  The value of items stolen is estimated at $700.00 and there are no known suspects at this time.

Saturday, December 15

*4:09 p.m. – Brownwood Police were dispatched to the 1700 block of Stewart Street regarding the theft of a motor vehicle.  According to the report, the complainant’s tan colored 2000 Oldsmobile Bravada Blazer had been stolen from his residence.

Monday, December 17

*9:22 a.m. – Brownwood Police were dispatched to the 1800 block of 9th Street regarding the burglary of a habitation.  An investigation is underway and a list of property missing is pending.

*8:28 p.m. – A Brownwood Police officer observed a vehicle traveling in the 400 block of Main Street which was failing to maintain a single lane and cut a corner turning left off of U.S. Hwy 377S onto 9th Street.  According to the report, a traffic stop was made and the driver, identified as 53-year-old Johnny Fleet, was determined to be under the influence of both alcohol and drugs.  Fleet was arrested and charged with driving while intoxicated 3rd or more and transported to the Brownwood Regional Medical Center where a blood sample was collected.

*10:33 p.m. – Brownwood Police were called to the 900 block of Riverside Drive regarding an assault at Duke’s Pub and Grub.  According to the report, the complainant stated that an unknown suspect struck him in the back of the head for no reason and he requested a report be filed.

Tuesday, December 18

*2:18 a.m. – Brownwood Police were called to the 900 block of W. Baker Street regarding disorderly conduct.  According to the report, the complainant reported that her brother was “out of control.”  Officers arrived and determined that her brother, 40-year-old Demetrius Allen Fisher, was intoxicated, according to the police report.  Fisher was subsequently arrested for public intoxication.
