Law enforcement arrests and reports released Friday, December 16, 2011.

Thursday, December 15

*2:38pm-Brownwood Police were dispatched to the 500 block of W. Commerce regarding a report of theft.  According to the report, the loss prevention manager of the store stated that he had caught an employee stealing from the business.  The investigation is ongoing, the report states.

*3:46pm-Brownwood Police were called to the 2300 block of Main Blvd. regarding the theft of medication.  According to the report, the complainant stated that someone stole her blue canvas medication bag off of the kitchen table.

*6:40pm-Brownwood Police responded to the Law Enforcement Center to speak to a complainant regarding a report of the burglary of a building in the 1200 block of Main Street.  According to the report, the complainant stated that items had been removed from his storage building and that he believed the items were possibly stolen by former tenants.  The investigation is ongoing, the report states.

*5:14pm-Brownwood Police were dispatched to 401 W. Commerce regarding trespassing.  According to the report, a subject known to have previously shoplifted from the store and who had a criminal trespass warning issued against him was observed in the store.  The subject left before officers arrived; however an asset protection officer requested that charges be filed.

*11:08pm-Brownwood Police responded to the 1600 block of Good Shepherd regarding family violence.  According to the report, the complainant reported that his two juvenile sons had been involved in an altercation in the parking lot of Subway on Austin Avenue.    No arrests or citations were issued at the time of the report. 

*Brownwood Police arrested 38-year-old Thomas Reed Stewart for Public Intoxication and Resisting Arrest.

Friday, December 16

*A Brown County Sheriff’s Deputy observed a vehicle parked behind Taylor Chevron, a business that was closed.  According to the report, the deputy advised dispatch that he would be checking on this vehicle due to the possibility of a burglary in progress.  After investigation, it was found that the occupant of the truck, 28-year-old Bobbie Lee Hamlett of Brookesmith, and his girlfriend had been drinking beer and arguing and that he had parked behind the store because he had nowhere to go for the night, the report states.   According to the deputy’s report, there were numerous empty beer cans and an empty bottle of liquor found in Hamlett’s vehicle.  Hamlett was arrested for Public Intoxication.

All arrestees are considered innocent until proven guilty in a court of law.
