Law Enforcement arrests and reports released Thursday, December 16, 2010.

Friday, December 10

*8:09am-Brownwood Police were dispatched to the 1600 block of Campa regarding a burglary of a motor vehicle.  According to the report, two items, a 2Gig Apple iPod and a GPS unit, were taken from the vehicle.

*6:20pm-Brown County Sheriff’s Office received a report of found property, a Colorado driver’s license.  According to the report, it had been reported to BCSO by a complainant that the driver’s license had been used by a minor to enter bars and drink.  The owner of the DL was contacted and stated that she had not been to Texas since 2006 and that she was not aware of her ID being stolen or any other problems related to a stolen ID according to the report.  The deputy working the case spoke with a local bar which determined that the ID had been used six times on multiple days for the past several months the report states.

Tuesday, December 14

*A Brown County deputy met with a complainant who stated that his paint mare horse had been shot.  According to the report, Veterinarian Fritz Speck determined that the horse would not recover from the gunshot wound to its right shoulder.  The horse had to be put down by Dr. Speck, DVM the report states.  The incident was believed to have occurred during the night of Sunday, December 12th or early morning hours of December 13th.  The horse was discovered around 6:00am on the morning of Dec. 13th near the complainant’s barn which is approximately 3/4 of a mile from a public roadway.  No suspects were identified at the time of the report and an investigation is ongoing.

Wednesday, December 15

*7:26am-Brownwood Police responded to the Pecan Station where an unknown suspect had stolen approximately 500 pounds of pecans from a building they had been secured in.

*8:40am- A Brown County Jail officer was escorting an inmate to the hospital for surgery.    According to the report, the officer was instructed by a BCSO Captain to handcuff the inmate to the bed railing to keep her from constantly walking around.  While attempting to put the cuffs on, the inmate kicked the officer twice in the chest and then struck her twice with her hands while cuffed the report states.

*8:00pm-A Brown County Sheriff’s deputy was dispatched to a residence on Hwy 279.  According to the report, a deputy spoke with the complainant who stated that two saddles had been stolen from inside his home.  Other valuables in the house were not taken the report states.   No arrests had been made at the time of the report.

*11:55pm-A Brownwood Police officer made a traffic stop in the 300 block of 13th Street.  Consent was given for a search of the vehicle which led to the discovery of an open alcohol container and one pink pill identified as Darvocet.  The pill was seized for destruction and a citation was given to the driver for open container.

*Brown County Sheriff’s Office arrested 49-year-old Steven Lancaster for Driving While Intoxicated.

* Brownwood Police arrested 63-year-old Larry James McClain for Driving While Intoxicated.

*11:13pm-A Brown County Sheriff’s deputy was dispatched to Woodway Lane in reference to a burglary of a habitation.  The complainant showed the deputy where someone had removed a window air conditioner unit from a window in the house and gained access.  Several items were noted to be missing including miscellaneous DVDs, several game consoles, a DVD player and other items.  The total value of the items was estimated to be over $2400.

All arrestees are innocent until proven guilty in a court of law.
