Law enforcement arrests and reports released Thursday, December 15, 2011.
Wednesday, December 14
*6:45am-Brownwood Police responded to the intersection of Peach and Cleburne Streets regarding a suspicious vehicle. According to the report, when officers arrived they noticed a vehicle with its lights on that was not moving. The driver, 23-year-old Justin Lee Lopez, was unresponsive to the officer’s verbal commands, the report states. Lopez submitted to field sobriety tests and was found to be intoxicated and subsequently arrested for Driving While Intoxicated 2nd Offense, according to reports.
*8:30am-Brownwood Police were dispatched to the Brownwood Middle School regarding disorderly conduct. According to the report, a BISD employee explained that he was having trouble with a juvenile who was yelling out profanities in class. The juvenile was issued a citation for disorderly conduct, profane language and then released, the report states.
*11:53am-Brownwood Police issued a trespass warning to a male subject at the request of a resident in the 1500 block of 2nd Street.
*8:10pm-Brown County Sheriff’s deputy was dispatched to what was originally reported as a major motor vehicle accident where a person was trapped in the vehicle. According to the report, when the deputy arrived, he found that the driver, 55-year-old Jamie Charles Sallee of Blanket, was alert and talking to firefighters who responded to the scene. After investigation, the deputy determined that the incident was not an accident, but that Sallee was intoxicated and had blown out a tire and was stuck on the side of the roadway. Sallee was subsequently arrested for Driving while Intoxicated, 2nd.
*8:42pm-Brownwood Police were conducting a traffic stop on a vehicle which was pulling a trailer with a defective tail light. This stop led to the driver of the vehicle being issued a citation for open container.
*11:04pm-Brownwood Police made a traffic stop due to the driver failing to maintain a single lane (crossing the center line three times) and failing to stop at a designated point at a stop sign. According to the report, the driver, 53-year-old Travis Edward Anderson, was found to be intoxicated after failing field sobriety tests. Travis was arrested for Driving While Intoxicated and Assault on a Public Servant.
*Brownwood Police arrested 31-year-old Jesse Dewayne Jones for Driving While License Invalid with Previous Convictions.
Thursday, December 15
2:19am-Brownwood Police were called to the 3700 block of Savoy Drive regarding an intoxicated male subject. After investigation, 39-year-old Thomas Stewart was placed under arrest for Public Intoxication, the report states. Stewart also resisted arrest and was additionally charged with Resist Arrest Search or Transport.
All arrestees are considered innocent until proven guilty in a court of law.
