Law Enforcement arrests and reports released Wednesday, December 14, 2011.

December 12

*3:46pm-Brownwood Police responded to a burglary in the 1600 block of 6th Street.  According to the report, the complainant arrived home to find the door of her residence open.

December 13

*9:37am-A Brownwood Police officer made a traffic stop in the 700 block of W. Austin due to an expired inspection sticker.  The stop led to the arrest of the driver, 29-year-old Crystal Thomason, for Driving While license Invalid/No Insurance.

*4:00pm-A Brownwood Police officer made a traffic stop in the 2000 block of US Hwy 377S for an expired inspection sticker.  The driver, 25-year-old Jonathan Joseph Dillard was arrested for Driving While License Invalid/No Insurance.

 

*5:55pm-Brownwood Police were dispatched to the 1200 block of Avenue G regarding found property. According to the report, the complainant found two bicycles in their backyard about a week ago.  The serial numbers were checked to see is the bikes were reported as stolen.  No record of the bicycles could be found so they were placed into the Brownwood Police Department impound for safekeeping until their owners can properly identify and claim them.

*6:15pm-Brownwood Police were called to 401 W. Commerce, Wal-Mart, regarding theft.  According to the report, an asset protection employee stated that two juveniles had attempted to walk out of the store without paying for merchandise which was concealed under their jackets.  Both juveniles were issued citations for Theft Less than $50 and released to their guardians.

*10:20pm-Brown County Sheriff’s deputy made a welfare check on a vehicle which had pulled over on the side of the road twice with its hazard lights flashing.  According to the report, the driver, 45-year-old Darwin Wayne Modgling of Blanket, was found to be intoxicated.  Modgling had 12 empty beer cans in the bed of his truck and also had in his possession two firearms, the report states.   Modgling was arrested for Driving While Intoxicated Blood Alcohol Level Greater Than or Equal to 0.15 a Class A Misdemeanor (breath samples were provided) and Unlawful Carrying Weapon due to his possession of the firearms while committing a Class B Misdemeanor or above.

*11:03pm-A Brownwood Police officer made a traffic stop due to an improper turn signal violation.  The driver, identified as 31-year-old Jesse Dewayne Jones, was found to have a currently suspended license and record found that he had two prior convictions for Driving While license Invalid with Previous Convictions, the report states.  Subsequently, Jones was arrested for Driving While License Invalid with Previous Convictions.

*Brown County Sheriff’s Office arrested 23-year-old Andres Varillas of Los Angeles, California for Prohibited Weapon and Possession of Drug Paraphernalia.

All arrestees are considered innocent until proven guilty in a court of law.
