Monday, December 10

*8:33 a.m. – Brownwood Police were called to the 1100 block of Santa Clara Drive regarding theft.  According to the report, the complainant stated that sometime between December 7th and 10th, his backyard was entered through the alley and 3 pickup bumpers, 2 trailer hitches, 6 vehicle radiators, and various aluminum pieces were taken.  Total value of the stolen items was estimated at $430.00, the report states.

*10:22 a.m. – Brownwood Police responded to 515 E. Commerce, Budget Inn, regarding a possible robbery involving a pistol that had occurred  approximately 30 minutes prior to the call by the complainant.  $300.00 was reported to have been stolen and a description of the suspect was given; however the suspect was said to have fled the location on foot prior to officers’ arrival, the report states.

*3:59 p.m. – Brown County Sheriff’s deputy made a traffic stop in the 4300 block of U.S. Highway 377S.  The driver, identified as Aaron Joseph Bumgardener, appeared nervous with hands trembling and would not make eye contact with the deputy, the report states.  A consensual search of Bumgardener’s vehicle located a plastic box under the passenger seat which contained a baggie of methamphetamine, according to the report.  Bumgardener was subsequently arrested for possession of a controlled substance penalty group 1 less than 1 gram in a drug free zone.

*5:18 p.m. – Brownwood Police were dispatched to the 600 block of 5th Street regarding an unwanted person.  The male subject, identified as Billy Joe Brummett, had pushed his way into the residence, after damaging the back door, the report states.  Brummett was found to be intoxicated and resisted arrest, then was arrested and charged with criminal mischief more than $50 and less than $500, public intoxication and resisting arrest, search or transport.

Tuesday, December 11

*6:16 a.m. – Brownwood Police responded to the 3300 block of Stephen F. Austin regarding an assault.  According to the report, the complainant stated that she had been assaulted by her husband.

*7:15 a.m. – Brownwood Police were dispatched to the 300 block of Bluffview regarding the burglary of a vehicle.  According to the report, the complainant’s unlocked vehicle was entered sometime between 5:30 p.m. on December 9th and 7:00 a.m. on December 10th and a wallet was removed from the center console.  The value of the items stolen was reported to be approximately $100.00 and no suspect information was available at the time of the report.

*10:02 a.m. – Brownwood Police received a report of debit card abuse.  Surveillance video was collected in the case and charges are being pursued, pending identification of the suspect, the report states.

*2:48 p.m. – Brownwood Police were called to the 1800 block of Waco Street regarding a citizens’ dispute.  According to the report, investigation led to the arrest of 43-year-old Chad William Beasley for public intoxication with 3 prior convictions and criminal trespass of the property.

*8:11 p.m. – Brownwood Police were called to the 1500 block of Dublin Drive regarding the burglary of a habitation.  According to the report, the complainant advised that between December 10th and 11th, an unknown suspect stole a Toshiba laptop and a tub of butter from her home.

*8:46 p.m. – Brownwood Police responded to the report of a domestic dispute at a Brownwood residence.  According to the report, the complainant advised that her husband had assaulted her.  Although the complainant’s husband left prior to officers’ arrival, he was later located, the report states.  According to police, due to conflicting information and the time between the incident and locating the suspect, no arrests were made.

Wednesday, December 12

*Brownwood Police arrested 30-year-old Melissa Sue Benson for manufacture delivery of a controlled substance penalty group ¾ less than 28 grams in a drug free zone.

*Brown County Sheriff’s Office arrested 48-year-old Terry Len Beason for public intoxication.
