Thursday, January 15
*A Brown County Sheriff’s deputy was dispatched to a residence on County Road 551 regarding animal cruelty. After an investigation, the owner was contacted and photos were taken of the animals along with documentation of their living conditions, according to the deputy’s report. The owner was advised of the procedures regarding a case of animal cruelty and was very compliant, according to the deputy.
*A Brown County Sheriff’s deputy received a report of the burglary of a building. According to the report, the complainant’s storage building was broken into sometime during the last month. The owner of the storage building was unsure of what items were stolen.
Friday, January 16
*A Brown County Sheriff’s deputy made a traffic stop on a vehicle for a defective brake light. According to the report, the stop led to the arrest of 34-year-old Kimberly Dawn Caudill of Early for possession of a controlled substance penalty group 1 equal or greater than 1 gram less than 4 grams in a drug free zone and possession of marijuana less than 2 ounces in a drug free zone.
*Brown County Sheriff’s Office arrested 24-year-old Cody Wayne Harrell of May on warrants related to failure to appear/burglary of a habitation and a surety withdrawal/possession of a controlled substance. Harrell was being held in the Brown County Jail in lieu of bonds totaling $80,000, as of Wednesday morning, January 21st.*Brown County Sheriff’s Office arrested 49-year-old Maria Delores Robledo of Early on a warrant related to failure to appear/duty on striking fixture.
Saturday, January 17
*A Brown County Sheriff’s deputy made a traffic stop on a vehicle for an illegible license plate. This stop led to the arrest for 22-year-old Arthur Timothy Guerra III for possession of a controlled substance penalty group 2 equal or greater than 4 grams less than 400 grams.
Sunday, January 18
*A Brown County Sheriff’s deputy met with a complainant at the law enforcement center regarding identity theft. According to the report, a possible suspect was identified who currently lives out of state.
*Brown County Sheriff’s Office arrested 48-year-old Irene Gomez Walls of Brownwood on warrants for surety withdrawals related to delivery of a controlled substance, possession of marijuana, possession of a controlled substance penalty group 1 less than 1 gram and possession of marijuana less than 2 ounces in a drug free zone. Walls was being held in the Brown County Jail in lieu of bonds totaling $33,000 as of Wednesday morning, January 21st.
*Brown County Sheriff’s Office arrested 21-year-old Stetson Lee Wayne Walls on a warrant related to forgery of a financial instrument.
Monday, January 19
*6:55 AM – Brownwood Police were dispatched to the 2500 block of Good Shepherd Drive regarding the burglary of a vehicle. According to the report, the complainant’s vehicles were broken into overnight and items such as laptop computers, a hunting knife and several checks were stolen from the vehicles. The investigation is ongoing the report states.
*A Brown County Sheriff’s deputy made a traffic stop on West Street in Bangs for a traffic offense. This stop led to the arrest of the driver of the vehicle, identified as33-year-old Jeremy Chase Brister, for possession of a controlled substance penalty group 1 equal or greater than 1 gram less than 4 grams.
Tuesday, January 20
*9:28 AM – Brownwood Police were called to the 1000 block of Avenue I regarding criminal mischief. According to the report, a vehicle at the address was egged and a window was shattered as a result of the egging.
*10:31 AM – Brownwood Police were called to the 1200 block of Austin Avenue regarding a fraudulent check. According to the report, the complainant stated that 40-year-old Danny Salas of Brownwood had attempted to pass a check on a closed account. Salas was arrested and charged with theft of property by check equal to or greater than $500 less than $1500.
*2:26 PM – A Brown County Sheriff’s deputy met with a complainant regarding terroristic threat. According to the report, the complainant stated that a known subject had displayed a firearm during a verbal argument and made threats toward ending the life of the complainant’s relative.
*4:44 PM – Brownwood Police met with a complainant at the law enforcement center regarding a civil matter. According to the report, the complainant stated that her ex-husband has been denying her visitation rights since June 27th of 2013.
*5:01 PM – Brownwood Police were dispatched to the 4200 block of Austin Avenue regarding an alleged sexual assault.
*6:52 PM – Brownwood Police made a traffic stop in the 1500 block of 11th Street. This call led to a male subject being issued a citation for possession of drug paraphernalia.
*10:15 PM – Brownwood Police were called to the 500 block of Cordell Street regarding an assault.
*Brown County Sheriff’s Office arrested 29-year-old Ashlee Daugherty of May on a Milam County warrant. Daugherty was being held in the Brown County Jail in lieu of $10,000 bond as of Wednesday, January 21st.
*Brown County Sheriff’s Office arrested 27-year-old Jacob Paul Keith of Bangs on a warrant related to motion to revoke/delivery of a controlled substance.
*Brownwood Police arrested 38-year-old Christopher Michael Knox of Brownwood for assault family member/ house member with previous conviction.
*The Brownwood City Marshall arrested 27-year-old Ashley Nichole Mattix of Brownwood on a warrant related to criminal mischief.
*25-year-old Alain Alfredo Valencia-Mendez of Brownwood turned himself in on a warrant related to driving while intoxicated with child under 15.
Wednesday, January 21
*12:37 AM – Brownwood Police were dispatched to the 4200 block of US Hwy 377 South regarding disorderly conduct at the Villas Apartments. According to the report, this call led to the arrest of 24-year-old Dustin Roberts of Brownwood for public intoxication.
*A Brown County Sheriff’s deputy was dispatched to Country Road 147 regarding the burglary of a habitation. The complainant advised that between the hours of 7:30 a.m. and 3:00 p.m. the previous day, an unknown person had entered the complainant’s residence and stole a Charles Daly handgun, a hatchet and a knife along with the keys to a gun safe and an empty suitcase.
*Brown County Sheriff’s Office arrested 26-year-old Roman Angel Mendez of Abilene on a warrant related to motion to revoke/burglary of a habitation.
*Brown County Sheriff’s Office arrested 32-year-old Robby Glen Minica of Brownwood for possession of a controlled substance penalty group 1 less than 1 gram.
*Brown County Sheriff’s Office arrested 42-year-old Doris Denise Ortega of Brownwood on two counts of possession of a controlled substance penalty group 1 less than 1 gram in a drug free zone.
*Brown County Sheriff’s Office arrested 29-year-old Jeremy Lee Ortega for surety withdrawals related to possession of a controlled substance and tamper/fabricate physical evidence along with warrants related to failure to appear violation of bond/protective order, FTA/possession of marijuana less than 2 ounces, FTA/theft of property greater than $50 less than $500, two counts FTA/bail jumping (Hill County), and a warrant from the child support division. Ortega was being held in the Brown County Jail in lieu of bonds totaling $43,000 as of Wednesday, January 21st.
*Brown County Sheriff’s Office arrested 24-year-old Jefferey Prescott Rivera, Jr. of Copperas Cove on a warrant related to a surety withdrawal/theft equal or greater than $20,000 less than $100,000.
