Friday, December 28
* 7:25 PM – Brownwood Police were called to the 500 block of W. Commerce regarding a reckless driver who struck the McDonald’s building and was possibly intoxicated. According to the report, dispatch advised the officer that the white Ford F-150 single cab was last seen traveling north on Belle Plain. The reporting party was following the suspect and reporting to dispatch of the suspect’s location and advised that the suspect was not able to maintain a single lane and was approaching the Sportsman Center, the report states. The responding officer arrived in the 2800 block of Belle Plain and observed the vehicle parked in the middle of the roadway blocking traffic, then was put into reverse, almost leaving the roadway and then turned back south. The driver, identified as 50-year-old Travis Alexander, was determined to be intoxicated and was arrested for driving while intoxicated, the report states. A search warrant was obtained for a specimen of Alexander’s blood to be taken as evidence.
Saturday, December 29
*Brownwood Police were dispatched to the 500 block of E. Baker regarding criminal mischief. According to the report, a female approached an officer who was working a security detail at the Brownwood Coliseum and reported that her pick-up truck had been vandalized by an unknown subject.
Monday, December 31
*9:42 AM – Brownwood Police received a report of theft via telephone call, which occurred in the 2800 block of 4th Street. According to the report, $500.00 in cash was stolen from the complainant.
*6:07 PM – Brownwood Police were called to the 800 block of 6th Street regarding criminal mischief. According to the report, the complainant reported his vehicle had been “keyed.” The complainant did not know who keyed the vehicle; however he does wish to pursue charges if a suspect can be identified.
*10:33 PM – Brownwood Police were dispatched to the 1600 block of Avenue D regarding a hit and run. According to the report, the complainant described the suspect vehicle as a silver 4-door passenger car. No known suspect was identified; however the complainant wishes to pursue charges if a suspect can be identified.
*10:44 PM – Brownwood Police were called to the 1100 block of Clements Street, Wendy’s, regarding theft. According to the report, management reported that a donation box which contained approximately $80 in coins and bills was stolen from the inside the business. Information was provided by the complainant concerning a subject who was inside the building when the donation box was stolen.
Tuesday, January 1
*12:21 AM – Brownwood Police were dispatched to the 700 block of W. Commerce Street regarding a hit and run. According to the report, someone ran into the complainant’s vehicle and left the scene without reporting the accident. The left front quarter panel of the vehicle was damaged the report states.
*12:42 AM – Brownwood Police were called to the 1700 block of 8th Street regarding a fight in progress. According to the report, the complainants stated that two unknown females and one adult male assaulted the complainants during a fight in the roadway. An investigation was completed and a report taken for assault causes bodily injury.
*2:31 AM – Brownwood Police made a traffic stop in the area of Houston and Walnut Streets. According to the report, the driver identified as 18-year-old Adam Raymond Castillo, was found to be in possession of a controlled substance in a drug free zone. Castillo was arrested and charged with possession of a controlled substance.
*2:13 PM – Brownwood Police were called to the 1100 block of Magnolia regarding a domestic disturbance which was in progress. According to the report, the incident was physical, and dispatch advised the officers that the male subject had made entry into the home and interfered with the female’s emergency call, which resulted in the female being unable to provide her name or the suspect’s name. Dispatch heard the female screaming and crying in the background, the report states. The call led to the arrest of 28-year-old Gabriel Chico Campos for assault by threat family member, the report states.
*9:30 PM – Brownwood Police received a report of a possible sexual assault. According to the report, a complainant stated that a known suspect assaulted his 4-year-old son. A report was generated and an investigation is ongoing police state.
*Early Police arrested 18-year-old Brandon Lee Lopez of Comanche for Possession of Marijuana and Minor in Possession.
*Texas Department of Public Safety arrested 26-year-old Lindsey Danielle Stevens of Brookesmith for driving while intoxicated.
