Friday, November 6
*8:16 AM – Brownwood Police were dispatched to the 2400 block of Durham Avenue regarding theft. According to the report, a motorcycle (dirt bike) had been stolen from the property.
*10:40 AM – Brownwood Police were called to the 2100 block of Slayden Street regarding possible drugs/narcotics. According to the report, a coach in a gym class advised that a student had gone into a restroom and was believed to be smoking. According to the report, the juvenile was found to be in possession of marijuana less than 2 ounces and was transported to the Juvenile Detention Center. The juvenile will be assigned 45 days in disciplinary Alternative Education Center as school discipline.
*12:34 PM – Brownwood Police were dispatched to the 2000 block of Brady Avenue regarding credit/debit card abuse. According to the report, the complainant stated a known female had attempted to use her debit card.
*7:14 PM – Brownwood Police were called to the 1000 block of Avenue K regarding the criminal trespass.*9:00 PM – Early Police Department responded to the 900 block of Early Blvd regarding a disturbance and man with a gun call at a local convenience store. According to police, the caller stated she and her husband were getting fuel at a local gas station when the occupants of a van parked near (also getting fuel) began yelling racial slurs toward the caller and her husband. The caller stated that while they were yelling the racial comments at them, the male driver pulled a handgun and displayed it to them and threatened to “shoot a BB in them,” the report states. The caller was unsure if the gun was a BB gun or a real gun but feared for their safety, according to police. Officers arrived and located the vehicle as it tried to pull out and detained the three occupants of the van. The gun was identified as an Airsoft BB gun that resembled a real gun. The occupants, identified as 33-year-old Joseph Ward of Abilene, 44-year-old Pamela Jean Babcock Bowen of Odessa and 52-year-old Richard Don Perdue, Jr. of Tye, were all placed under arrest for public intoxication, the report states. Ward was additionally charged with disorderly conduct and terroristic threat.
*Bangs Police arrested 25-year-old Michael David Peters of Bangs for assault against sports participant, resisting arrest search or transport and public intoxication. Peters was later released on bonds totaling $4000.
*The Brownwood City Marshal arrested 46-year-old Stephanie Ann Steel of Brownwood on a warrant related to theft of property equal or greater than $20 less than a $500 by check, operating unregistered motor vehicle, and failure to appear.
*The Brownwood City Marshal arrested 54-year-old Freddie Delvin Thomas of Brownwood on a warrant related to public intoxication.
Saturday, November 7
12:00 AM – Brownwood Police were called to the 1000 block of W. Commerce Street regarding criminal mischief. According to the report, while the complainant was inside a business in the area, the front right tire of the vehicle was stabbed with a sharp object. An investigation is ongoing, the report states.
*9:53 AM – Brownwood police were dispatched to the 3400 block of Golding Road regarding the theft of a laptop computer.
*1:09 PM – Brownwood Police were dispatched to the 1200 block of Avenue H regarding vicious pit bull dog. According to the report, this call led to a citation being issued to the dog’s owner.
*2:55 PM – Brownwood Police were called to the 3500 block of Rhodes Road regarding two men inside a pickup truck using drugs. According to the report, this call led to the arrest of the two juvenile males for possession of marijuana less than 2 ounces.
*3:20 PM – A Brown County Sheriff’s deputy spoke with a complainant regarding a suspect who had come to a residence on Hwy 183N in Early and made threats against the occupants. The complainant requested a criminal trespass warning be issued to the suspect who was not on scene.
*8:02 PM – A Brown County Sheriff’s deputy Ronny Bowman was dispatched to a residence on Lake Shore Drive regarding an assault. According to the report, the victim stated the suspect had thrown a drink on him and then grabbed him by his throat causing a 2-inch laceration to the left side of the victim’s neck. The victim was able to fend off the suspect and was taken to the hospital for an injury to his ankle, which occurred after the assault.
*Brown County Sheriff’s Office arrested 23-year-old Meagan Rea Gray of Brownwood on warrants related to failure to appear/theft of property greater than $20 less than $500 by check and possession of a controlled substance penalty group 1 less than 1 gram (Bexar County).
*Early Police arrested 20-year-old Shooter Fauch Lane Soward of Brownwood on warrants related to speeding 10% above posed speed and violate promise to appear/speeding.
Sunday, November 8
*Brownwood Police were called to the 1900 block of Durham Avenue regarding animal cruelty by way of torture. According to the report, the responding officer arrived at the property where he discovered a chained pit bull dog beaten and stabbed. The dog was seized and transported to a local veterinarian for treatment, the report states. An active criminal investigation of animal cruelty by way of torture had been initiated, and suspects in the case were identified, according to police.
*2:32 PM – Two Brown County Sheriff’s deputies were dispatched to the 2700 block of N. Main Blvd. in Brownwood regarding the report of a man assaulting a female, which was in progress. Neither party was located on the scene; however, a witness to the assault positively identified the assailant and victim. Although a search of the area was unsuccessful, a report was made, according to law enforcement.
*3:05 PM – Brownwood Police were dispatched to the 700 block of Coggin Avenue regarding theft. According to the report, the caller stated she had a package sent to the address and now the people currently living at the address refused to give the package back.
*29-year-old Joshua Ford of Brownwood on a Comal County warrant related to violate promise to appear/evading arrest detention.
